No fan of Turdeau (as we call him in Canada) but this is a war with no winners. Hope these tarrifs go away.

He had to response to Donald Duck, sorry Donald Dump, men sorry again, Donald Dumb, what is happening with me, Donald Bump, why is this happening.... a yeah, Donald Trump, the dumb duck, with a bump in his head to be dumped. \n \nIt does not matter if some like Trudeau or not, as a country leader THIS was the only response to a bully neighbor, who wants to start a trade war. \nAnd as Trudeau said, there is no winner, we are polite, but we are Canadians and will not back down from a fight. \n\nThank you Mr. Trudeau. \nDonald Trump, the dumb duck, with a bump in his head will be dumped. \n\n <3 Canada., greetings from the Greek guy.

There are no winners in a trade war, the side with the most to lose loses the most, bye bye Americans won’t be visiting you anymore
2025-03-04 0
As a Canadian, Albertan. I appreciate the support from our American neighbours. Unfortunately, we have no choice but to retaliate with tariffs. There will be no winners!
2025-03-04 0
I disagree… there is a winner in a trade war. Buckle up buttercup.\n\nP. S. You need to invest more in your national defense and stop depending on the US to give you security.
2025-03-04 0
This isnt a personal Strike to Canada from the US, This is Business. \nSecurity isnt free and the US will not be hurt by this. \nFinally, the USA goverment is forcing manufacturung back to the US. \nThere is one winner from this and its not Canada. Mark my words. \nSpeaches like This one is only to peak the interest of ignorant and small minded people. \nWake up people. This is just Trudeau Using media to make it like Canada is being picked on. \nWill there be a Canada in 20 years?

Leverage . Canada is Overly Exposed. The U.S is a Capitlist Nation. He is right there are no winners in a trade war. But there are BIGGER LOSERS. And thats leverage. . Not sayjng its right but please stop with the theatrics. You have NO LEVERAGE
2025-03-04 0
Trudeau spoke well. I did not vote for him but he is doing great work these days. Under his leadership, all Canadians are united in this fight against the USA. He is absolutely right, this stupid war will have no winners, only losers, with the exception of Russia. To the Americans who voted for Trump or did not bother to vote at all, this is on you.
2025-03-04 0
I can confidently say as a Canadian, what Trump has done and continues to do is driving the biggest wedge between Canada and the USA. The jokes of Canada becoming a 51st state is outrageous and i speak for many fellow Canadians when saying - WE WILL DIE AS CANADIANS before bending the knee to America. This is exactly what Russia wants and the only true winner from this will be the countries praying on Canada and the US's downfall.
2025-03-04 0
As an American I stand in solidarity with Canada, this is not how you treat allies let alone close neighbors. There are no winners in trade wars, sadly a fact that seems to escape Trump.
2025-03-04 0
No winners here folks, the the tariffs fees get passed onto the customers we'll be paying more out of pocket ??.
2025-03-04 0
CANADA SHOULD feel the pain of sanction ----------- if there are n no winners in trade wars -- then reflect that on Rusia
2025-03-04 0
if theres no winners in a trade war why play the tit for tat?
2025-03-04 0
Terrible how our Country America treating Canada and Mexico always been there from disasters to military in past wars. Stand up everyone there no winners! Cost of living, loss jobs and small businesses gone. But the rich will be fine but we are the ones that suffer. So messed up.
2025-03-04 0
I’m American, fuck Trump and Elon Musk. I support my brothers and sisters in Canada and across the world! This is bs and this sucks for all of us. We started a war with our friends…Everyone knows real winners win together.
2025-03-04 0
There are no winners in trade war - This is correct. But there are losers in trade war - Consumers
2025-03-04 0
Trudeau is not very smart. He says there are no winners in a trade war. If he decides to have one, it is the U.S. who is easily going to come out on top. This may be the preparation to do what's right. He knows President Trump is right. If they charge 15% tariff so will we. That's only fair. We aren't charging more, just lets be on a level playing field.

Inhuman Hitler also dreamt that he would utter the last words but didn't know how strong humans r.\nHuman is fighting since millions years for survival and progress, never defeated and in future also they will be winner. The rise of inhumanity is temporary only.

migration is a natural thing; every creature migrates to find a better home or habitat... migration happens all the time; but migration can also be caused by humans who push their society out of scale when they had the ability to live within their means....unlike other life in migration which instinctually stay in scale to keep the forest in balance, humans have the ability to control their home population borders and create a peaceful and productive society; or humans in their free will and as thinking creatures can then on the contrary allow security to fail and allow chaos to rule between... a peaceful and secure home begins with secure doors and windows; as well as being a responsible bread winner to keep everybody fed inside

The LTB is and Canada a complete disaster and disgrace!!! This is exactly what to expect under Turdos compassion mandate. They are picking winners and losers on purpose.

Trump says EU tariffs will ‘definitely happen’ as Mexico, Canada and China retaliate \nTrump takes softer line on UK, saying ‘I think that one can be worked out’, while Mexico and Canada vow levies and to strengthen ties with each other \n \nPhilip Wen, Léonie Chao-Fong and agencies \nMon 3 Feb 2025 03.57 GMT \nShare \nDonald Trump has threatened to widen the scope of his trade tariffs, repeating his warning that the European Union – and potentially the UK – will face levies, even as he conceded that Americans could bear some of the economic brunt of a nascent global trade war. \n \nIt comes as Trump’s tariffs on Mexico, Canada and China, announced on Saturday, sparked retaliation from all three countries. Mexico and Canada have vowed levies of their own while China and Canada are seeking legal challenges. \n \nTrump said on Sunday night that new tariffs on the EU will “definitely happen”, repeating previous complaints about the large US trade deficit with the bloc and his desire for Europe to import more American cars and agricultural products. \n \nEmpty shelves remain with signs ''Buy Canadian Instead'' after the top five US liquor brands were removed from sale at a British Columbia liquor store in Vancouver. \nAsian sharemarkets tumble in response to Trump tariffs \nRead more \n“It will definitely happen with the European Union, I can tell you that,” he told reporters. “I wouldn’t say there’s a timeline but it’s going to be pretty soon.” \n \nTrump appeared to take a softer line on the UK, citing a good relationship with prime minister Keir Starmer while saying tariffs still “might happen”. “The UK is out of line but I’m sure that one, I think that one can be worked out,” he said. \n \n“Well Prime Minister Starmer’s been very nice, we’ve had a couple of meetings, we’ve had numerous phone calls, we’re getting along very well, we’ll see whether or not we can balance out our budget.” \n \nIn Canada, the department of finance published a list of US products imported into Canada that it will target with a 25% retaliatory tariff starting on Tuesday. \n \nThe list shows products that will be hit in the first round of retaliatory tariffs by Canada starting on Tuesday, and mounts to $30bn Canadian dollars’ worth of goods (about US$20bn). The impacted products include tobacco, produce, household appliances, firearms and military gear. \n \nCanada is also preparing for a second, broader round of retaliatory tariffs in 21 days that will target an additional C$125bn (US$86bn) worth of US imports. The second list would include passenger vehicles, trucks, steel and aluminum products, certain fruits and vegetables, beef, pork, dairy products and more. \n \nFILES-US-CANADA-MEXICO-CHINA-TRADE-TARIFFS<br>(FILES) US President Donald Trump speaks to the press after signing an executive order in the Oval Office of the White House in Washington, DC on January 31, 2025. Trump is imposing steep tariffs on major US trading partners Canada, Mexico and China, with a lower rate on Canadian energy imports, said the White House on February 1, 2025. Washington will impose a 25 percent levy on imports from Canada and Mexico, with a 10 percent rate on Canadian energy resources, until both work with the United States on drug trafficking and immigration. Goods from China, said the White House, would face 10 percent tariffs. (Photo by Mandel NGAN / AFP) (Photo by MANDEL NGAN/AFP via Getty Images) \nTop Democrats warn tariffs will hit Americans hard as Trump says it’s ‘worth the price’ \nRead more \nClaudia Sheinbaum, Mexico’s president, said her government will provide more details on the retaliatory tariffs she ordered on US goods on Monday. Sheinbaum, in a statement on Sunday, said she will announce details on her government’s “plan B” as she insisted that Mexico “doesn’t want confrontation”. \n \n“Problems are not addressed by imposing tariffs, but with talks and dialogue,” she said. “Sovereignty is not negotiable: coordination yes, subordination no.” \n \n'Coordination yes, subordination no': Mexican president responds to Trump's tariffs – video \nSheinbaum and Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau spoke by phone on Saturday after Trump’s administration imposed the new tariffs – 25% on goods from Canada and Mexico, with a lower rate of 10% for Canadian oil, and 10% on imports from China. \n \nTrudeau’s office said in a statement that Canada and Mexico agreed “to enhance the strong bilateral relations” between their countries. Canadian officials have had extensive dialogue with their Mexican counterparts, but a senior Canadian official said he would not go as far as to say the tariff responses were coordinated. \n \n“Now is the time to choose products made right here in Canada,” Trudeau posted Sunday on X. “Check the labels. Let’s do our part. Wherever we can, choose Canada.” \n \nTrump acknowledged the sweeping tariffs he has imposed on Mexico, Canada and China may cause “short term” pain for Americans as global markets reflected concerns the levies could undermine growth and reignite inflation. Asian markets, cryptocurrencies and US and European stock futures slumped in early Asian trading on Monday. \n \n“We may have short term some little pain, and people understand that. But long term, the United States has been ripped off by virtually every country in the world,” he said. day, Trudeau said: “We’re certainly not looking to escalate, but we will stand up for Canada.” However on Sunday evening, a senior government official from Canada briefing reporters in Ottowa on condition of anonymity said: “We will obviously pursue the legal recourse that we believe we have through the agreements that we share with the United States.” \n \nThe official said the Canadian government considered the move by Trump illegal and said it violates the trade commitments between the two countries under their free trade agreement and under the World Trade Organization. \n \n“If other legal avenues are available to us, they will be considered as well,” the official said. \n \nCanada is the largest export market for 36 states, and Mexico is the largest trading partner of the US. \n \nCanada and Mexico ordered the tariffs despite Trump’s further threat to increase the duties charged if retaliatory levies are placed on US goods. \n \nChina also said it would file a lawsuit against the tariffs. The imposition of tariffs by the US “seriously violates” World Trade Organization (WTO) rules, China’s commerce ministry said in a statement, urging the US to “engage in frank dialogue and strengthen cooperation”. \n \nFiling a lawsuit with the WTO would be a largely symbolic move that Beijing has also taken against tariffs on Chinese-made electric vehicles by the EU. \n \nThe commerce ministry also said the tariffs were “not only unhelpful in solving the US’s own problems, but also undermine normal economic and trade cooperation”. China has said it would take countermeasures to “safeguard its own rights and interests”. It is not clear exactly what form these will take yet. But for weeks Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning has said Beijing believes there is no winner in a trade war. \n \nLate Sunday night, Trump said he would speak with Trudeau on Monday morning and shortly after said he would speak with Mexico as well, although he did not specify that he would speak with Sheinbaum. \n \nBeyond the official response, people were already thinking of ways to cope with Trump’s decision, including by sharing suggestions on social media for alternatives to US products. \n \nCanadian hockey fans booed the US national anthem on Saturday night at two National Hockey League games. The booing continued on Sunday at an NBA game in Toronto where the Raptors played the Los Angeles Clippers. \n \nFrom left to right, Toronto Raptors forwards Bruce Brown, Scottie Barnes and Chris Boucher react as fans boo the United States national anthem before NBA basketball game action against the Los Angeles Clippers in Toronto, Sunday, Feb. 2, 2025. (Frank Gunn/The Canadian Press via AP) \nToronto Raptors fans boo US national anthem after Donald Trump tariffs \nRead more \nOne fan at the Raptors game chose to sit during the anthem while wearing a Canada hat. Joseph Chua, who works as an importer, said he expects to feel the tariffs “pretty directly”. “I’ve always stood during both anthems. I’ve taken my hat off to show respect to the American national anthem, but today we’re feeling a little bitter about things,” he said, adding that he will start to avoid buying US products. \n \nIn the streets, people in Mexico were trying to absorb the announcement on Sunday, although some in the capital acknowledged that they were unaware of the measures. \n \nIn the border city of Mexicali, across from Calexico, California, some people were concerned about the wider implications of a trade war. \n \nDriver Alejandro Acosta says that he crosses the border weekly in his truck to deliver vegetables to US companies. He said he fears US businesses in the Mexicali Valley will no longer want to operate in Mexico and they will move to the US. \n \n“If they raise taxes on the factories here, jobs may also decrease,” he said.

Toll wars have no winner, but what else can they do when USA is crazy now?
2025-02-02 0
The only winners from all these decisions started by Trump the Bully , are the Russians , the Chinese and North Koreans ! Well done!

Smart world leaders know the ramifications of starting tariffs wars. They historically have never produced winners. Only \nlosers, because they hurt consumers on both sides. That’s \nwhy they are hardly ever used as weapons to settle disputes.\nWorld leaders as a result initiate dialogue over tariffs to resolve \ndisputes. We unfortunately do not have a smart leader at this time.

With reciprocal tariffs of 25%, the US is the winner, having a trade deficit of about 55 billion dollars in 2024 with Canada. That is, exports of Canadian products to the US are significantly higher than imports of US products to Canada.

A new war in North America is happening, and the winner is yet to be seen.

There are so many countries that are willing to trade with the US and will replace Canada and Mexico. Why do you think Trump didnt put tariffs on Europe straight away?\nThe small European countries are the winners and their trade with the USA will increase dramatically. And the products will still be chealer than those from Canada.

Mexico and Canada other should join forces....pacify the bully Americans. \nChina can also push to their own tariffs. \nRussia and China are the winners..

The winner of this war will be whoever can replace their trade bazaar with others faster and better. Europeans and Asians should see the opportunity to trade and fill the gap of the US for Canadian Market. Canada has enourmous capacities that no one should hesitate. I would visit Ottowa first thing in the morning if I was a president of any European or exporter countries of Asia.

If a person can work, let them work. Who gives a flying fuck what's between their legs as long as there's will and heart. Bigotry will never be the way. Excluding certain people is dangerous - not to mention completely idiotic. It's the opposite of a winner mentality

PREDICTION: The rise of international tariffs will ultimately uncover a huge underbelly of unemployment ironically in the USA and create a wave of an unexpected underbelly of poverty unseen by America in many years. USA will suffer in the next 4 years due to tariff wars and causing its international allies work in new relationships with its unexpected competitors such as China. The EU will learn how to live without relying on the USA - as is the same with China and other countries. America will have to self-rely on itself - causing it to recycle its own money over and over again to try and create home-grown industries that will initially be very expensive to run. \n\nCompetitive countries will strike deals with American allies and form new relationships that the USA hadn't foreseen - and the era will illustrate an international 'Us' vs US mentality. Countries will turn their back on America, knowing they can work well together than rely on the USA. \n\nThe average US citizen will be receiving tax rise after tax rise, causing more poverty within states and due to the 'xenophobic tariff mentality' - will find the middle income earner slip down to a lower grade, and ripple this effect. Medical aid will only benefit the rich while everyone else will pay for minimum service but premium for medication. \n\nThe price of food and transport will quadruple over the next 4 years, not because of the natural progression of price rise, but immediately due to tariff wars. \n\nAmericans, ultimately pay for tariffs - bullying words of 50 percent tariffs on another country means a surge in prices for everyday goods Americans take for granted. The only winner is the Government - which means it chooses what to spend on. \n\nA recession will hit hard....AGAIN -- on the USA.

The reason why you are leaving Canada is because we have had 50 years of NeoLiberalism. We can't even imagine a government that provides us with good service. You quote the Fraser Institue and talk about getting tough on crime. This is all US billionaire promoted bunk. More cuts and austerity won't help anyone except the wealthy and corporations who have enjoyed everything their way since the 1980s. Based on you political leanings you will have to go to the US or a Fascist state where you will have less freedom and an even lower quality of life. Our taxes are not high and our debt is reasonable. We just have made our government so small and ineffective that it can't deal with anything and we have no sense of community values. It's going US style, winner take all.

Palki is being hypocritical about this visa issue. India is the gold medal winner in rejecting Chinese tourists since like last decade. They said that India needs to be protected from Chinese people from knowing how India is really like. Do viewers know that India has refused opening direct air travel between China and India?\nIs Palki worried that Chinese men might steal her heart, like Xi did loong time ago? ??

Indians are often very dishonest! We have 1,000,000 Indians here who obtained a visa but then never went back home when their visa expired. They are here illegally and working here illegally. An Indian merchant at a convenience store tried to steal a winning lottery ticket from me a few days ago! Several Indians have gone to prison for stealing lottery tickets from customers including HUGE Multi $Million Dollar WINNERS! \n\nI have had Indian immigrants be rude to me even though I was born in Washington DC and my ancestors have lived here for centuries! \n\nWe are having to actually pass laws here to prevent Indians from discriminating agains their fellow Indians in work and housing due to them being Dalits, or ‘Untouchables’ which proves that Indians coming here have no interest whatsoever in democracy and equality. Indians are coming here solely for economic reasons. They are having babies here to take advantage of, abusing, our birthright citizenship law. \n\nOver 700,000,000 Indians don.t even have access to a toilet and yet your government is spending many $Billions on aircraft carriers and a massive military buildup. Get your priorities straight, build safe toilets first for your people! Indians need to remain in India and Make India Great Again!

Idiot. Goldman Sachs and the bulk of economists including noble prize winners say deporting all the illegals will crash the economy in 2025. The Fascists lied about the economic effects of deporting 15 million illegals and\nCNN is lying by not revealing the above. Food prices will skyrocket with no cheap illegals to pick crops. Call your Senators and US reps about the above. Watch the Meidas Touche and Tom Hartmann and dump lying CNN.
2024-11-09 0
The comment that USA voted for this, This is bad misconception, In reality more than 50% of legal aged voters dont vote, They have checked out on this circus show. So the winner of any presidential election really only got about 1/3 of USA to vote. Voting should become mandatory in usa then we would stop seeing brain dead choices like trump.
