As a US veteran, I have no idea why trump is making these ridiculous decisions. Our country is being lead by blind, ignorant and arrogant people.\nPlease know the majority of Americans do not support this stupidity.\nI love Canadians and always have, Trump will never destroy the friendships made there.

American here. Family moved to Canada ?? after American Revolutionary War (yep family was a royalist). Stayed in Oh Canada for over 100 years. As an American ?? (country I love) - I stand with Canada ?? even though it will cost me & other lower / middle classes $$$$. Not Canada’s fault. It is the fault of the orange ? man who is a pretender POTUS. A man who kisses Putin’s ring. A man who protects billionaires & trillionaires… not the majority of U.S. Americans. He doesn’t care about the grossly misguided people who voted for him - they are finding out now! Stay Strong Canada ??! Thank you for standing up to this American Bully! I loved the speech of PM Trudeau- but one thing he kept saying is wrong. Our government did not do this - One man did this via executive orders. He does not care who he hurts. He does not care about the American people. Trump only cares about himself and his relationship with Mother Russia and Putin. TRUMP doesn't want peace. He is thriving on the chaos that he and Musk are initiating. Trump needs to be impeached immediately but our Congresmaen and women, who are supposed to represent their populations are too scared to do anything other than what Trump tells them to do. Our Government is supported to have a Check and Balance function, but none of the branches have the guts to stand up to TRump. I really believe that Trump's American first policy is to end up as America ALONE.

Canada and Ukraine has real presidents who love their country and their people -- America is stuck with a putin bootlicker who lies endlessly to the American people!

As an American and a Trump supporter, I agree with these tariffs, but only equal to the tariffs other countries charge the United States on our imports. I do not agree with imposing this on our brothers and sisters to the north. I’m speaking of the good people of Canada. I have traveled to Canada and crossing the border was just like crossing into another state. Yes, there was a border gate which there should be, but I had absolutely no problem whatsoever. I hope our government can work this out very quickly and stop this foolishness. But to countries like China and Europe the United States should charge a reciprocal tariff as to what you charge us on our import. It’s only fair. Why are we paying an exuberant tariff for our goods entering your country and you expect to pay nothing with your goods entering ours. Most Americans, love Canada and love our Canadian brothers and sisters, we’ve always supported each other in world, wars, and other attacks against our respective countries. I pray this is resolved quickly, and then we can once again live United and in harmony.

The American people love Canada… Please know that these reckless tariff actions are not supported by most Americans… not only do they damage the relationships of our closest allies, they do not work. They are simply a tax which is ultimately born by the American people.

This is how a leader should speak. He speaks with sincerity and with clarity. He doesnt speak broadly just to an entire audience. He speaks to each group of people that this is concerning to, and making sure we understand the magnitude of this situation. He adjusts how he speak to each group, and also to our sad president. Thats the vibe of the message he was giving me. I cant imagine the months to come. What I have loved most about the stupidity of Trump, his government and his supporters is that it has brought Europe and the commonwealth together. It’s made citizens of each country unite together at a time that there was so much division especially in Europe. People across the world boycotting the USA to show their, disgust, hit them where it hurts, supporting other business and bolstering our own economies, in doing so also supporting those Americans that did not vote for this. So much good coming from this.

My experience as a Canadian as we keep personal political, religious, racist beliefs to ourselves. Americans I found tend to bond to people based on these personal beliefs all too much. Love the diverse culture I live within in Canada. Should review the data on shootings in educational institutions in the US , you might be surprised how many days in a year these shootings do occur.
