I teach language (English and French)as a volunteer at a community center in Canada, and I meet some newcomers who come with their college (University in Canada) diplomas illegally, not to pass the language exam or the legal immigration steps, but to pay expenses. That's sad because other legal immigrants pay for private courses for learning English or French for their exams, which makes them ready to speak and contribute to their adoptive countries for the first weeks. There are always two sides of the story. When British and French went from starting trade with indigeneous to brigning their families and settling towns on their land, they must have had the same feeling. I have worked with Canadians in their 60s vs 20s, there was a huge difference in work ethic. My white manager relied on me and my another friend for closing or opening shift than some local preveliged kids. I am in support of deporting illegals but let's educate who are here legally. Collaborate with communities to voice out your concerns and look at the positive impact immigrants have made in past decades.

Watching from Kolkata, India. In my city and surrounding areas, we have illegal immigrants who are mostly Muslim Bangladeshi. They dont assimilate, hate Hindus or non muslims in general, do illegal stuff and busy in converting and reproducing so that demographic change can happen and it has happened in many districts. The government is helping them to gain vote banks. I completely understand them. Even in India we know the people that went to Canada were shady even in India. Many of them sit in Canada and issue threats to Indians and India. This is all well known.

The real problem is not just people, it’s the Canadian immigration system and the loopholes IRCC has left wide open. In Punjab and other parts of India, wealthy families are arranging marriages where a girl with IELTS comes to Canada, then calls her husband here. Many of these are nothing more than contract marriages, where once the boy arrives, they go their separate ways. This is blatant abuse of the system and has created a wave of people entering Canada without even basic English skills. IRCC needs to wake up and fix this. Students on study or work visas must not be allowed to bring their spouses. If someone wants to come, let them take an English test themselves and prove they’re qualified. Study permits should only be issued for genuine university students, not random private colleges being used as back doors into the country. On top of that, no work permits should be given while on a study visa. Employers who hire students illegally on cash as cheap labour should face strict penalties, heavy fines, and blacklisting. Until these loopholes are closed, Canada’s immigration system will continue to be exploited and lose credibility. IRCC, this is not immigration — this is fraud facilitated by weak laws.

Aspects like religion, race, language are big factors that shape a culture. No country wants mass immigration but you can not blame Indians for this mess. I was unemployed for a short period of time at Maple Lodge Farm and another packing company and all workers were Indians and they were rude people. These companies should be raided by the police and they will catch a lot of students hiding there. The immigration should open a site where citizens or legal residents can report these people. That would make it eadier for Canada to track the illegals. But the important thing is stop the incoming students and the refugees.

I am a Korean international student studying in Canada. These types of news makes me really frustrated.. I heard that due to these reasons, immigration officers has been taking very long time to process study visa permits. I 100% agree with immigration officers that they need to carefully review the applications, because I also think things like this shouldn’t happen in any countries. But, I’m getting frustrated because this is delaying innocent international students’ visa process as well. I’ve finished my undergraduate studies and I decided to pursue master’s under a professor i met in my current university. I was very excited to study the field, and i applied for study extension visa months ago, and still haven’t gotten any updates from IRCC. So I couldn’t get enrolled in Fall semester. I’m still waiting, and i really hope that i can continue studying.. luckily my professor understood this situation and he said he can hold a position for me, but i’m still very anxious about all the situation. I hope all people who come to Canada are honest and don’t do illegal things. I really want them to realize that they are affecting students who just want to study. They are taking away the opportunity for others to learn.
