Good journalism, both sides being presented here, the reasons why it happened, the stereotypes. While I don't really have a strong opinion about Brampton being mostly Indians, I do have an opinion that Canadians should condemn other areas as well that are majority of immigrants. Vaughn area is filled with Chinese people no one makes a fuss about it. They ain't speaking english, they aint serving American junk food everywhere, yet Indians are a problem. The community has vices, but justifying xenophobia with that is awful. European descendant people came here and took over native Canadians. Can't think how it must've felt for them. That was unarguably way worse than the current immigration system. My point being its a problem against a specific community is not really being uncomfortable for the sake of the country but purely out of spite and racism. I can see the concerns but not when they stereotype every Indian.

"We need talent"? We have talent! Canada is full of talent going to waste. Our government would rather import foreigners and slide them into canadian universitys and jobs than support, educate and train Canadians. The old argument that canada just does not have the talent is starting to sound like "other countries have the talent" that Canadians don't measure up..... we need to elect people who think Canadians ARE the talent!

There's something missing here. I don't understand why people from abroad are being treated as though they are above and special. People from Canada don't even have clear pathways made for them to get wherever each of our aims are. What about investing in ones own citizens? What am I missing? The news presents these stories in an offensive way which fuels annoyance towards incoming. We know you're not a number but why do you have such an entitlement attitude, why do you think you deserve anything from us and why do you think you deserve to get when it means a Canadian will suffer?

I was the lawyer invited to this interview, and after reading some comments celebrating the end of the PEQ, I feel the need to clarify a few things. The people affected by this are not “abusing the system.” this was the program for people that came here legally and are working. To qualify for the PEQ, they had to be working full time, they pay taxes, they speak the language. They’re fixing our roads, keeping hospitals running, welding, machining, doing the jobs most of us take for granted every single day. The hard truth is that Canadians have stopped having enough children, and we simply don’t have enough young people with the skills to fill these roles. Yes, we absolutely should invest more in education and trade programs for our youth — my employer clients are begging young people to become mechanics, welders, skilled workers, often in the regions. Most don’t take those jobs, and even when they do, training takes two to three years. Our industries need people now, or parts of the economy will stall, and that affects all of us as Quebecers and Canadians. These workers are not asking for charity. They are already on the front lines keeping key sectors alive. Ending programs like the PEQ doesn’t punish “illegals” or “free riders”; it punishes people who are already integrated, working, and contributing to the society we all share. Also, all they are asking is for the new rules to not be applied to them retroactively, only for those coming new into the country, otherwise it is rug pulling those already here that played by the rules, and when the government does it to us we don't like, on principle of fairness, whatever you think of the numbers, too high too low, doesn't matters, it is the least we can all get behind as humans.

Canada has no army, no hope, no money, no sovereignty, no leadership, no future, no identity, no sense, no pride, no sanity, no justice system, (a corrupt justice system)....trillions and trillions of dollars worth of natural resources that Canadians didn't think was worth fighting for or defending. 'Mark Carney and his vultures in the WEF/China have plans for Canada that doesn't include Canadians'. Just like Brazil, the Brazilians lost their resources to the WEF/China. Imagine Chinese miners, factories and towns full of Chinese workers...because that is where Canada is headed.

When I came to Canada, I thought, "Oh my god, I think I got on the wrong plane and landed in India." They're everywhere. I work for a Canadian company where ten percent of the employees are Canadian, and the rest are mostly Indians and refugees (from Syria, Laos, Vietnam, etc.). I think that when people don't want to accept the laws and want to live outside the law, they choose refugee status, doing whatever they want and trying to cheat the system. Canadian employers then find an opportunity to line their pockets with cheap labor, harming Canadians themselves. My view of Canada is like living on a pirate ship in the 21st century...bye, bye Canada... God help the Canadians.

Seeing decedents of immigrants disapproving the arrival of other immigrants is hilarious. Somebody needs to remind these people that they're descendants of immigrants themselves- why else do they think the Canadians speak French, have European names and are Caucasian?

How did Canadas successive governments failed this nation by getting immigrants who instead of assimilating in Canadian way of life deliberately segregated themselves to create their own country and culture in Canada.Immigrants to this land have been destroying way of life in Canada by creating hundreds of countries they came from in Canada.Its scary to even think how all sorts of religious buildings are being built to segregate people based on their own religion and culture!??!

I think we should provide more help and support for Canadians. I am an immigrant but it came be overwhelmingly. As long immigrants don’t break the law, it is OK. But I do believe our Canadian people are not treated fairly, they do feel left out.

You, Canadians, should've thought of all this when you opened your doors to every Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi and so on! It's not too late to stop this wave, though. To answer your question at the end (what is the difference between the temples and the food bank) the canadians left community and god behind for progressivism and a godless life idolizing the individual. Churches do the same thing the temples do, they run food banks and try to foster community. The difference is when a church asks you follow gods rules, people scream opression, but when foreign religions deman you cover your head, canadians think "ooh im so cultured"...

I don’t think an Indian will never be considered a real Canadian. When I think of Canadian I think of a White person, a Métis person, or an Eskimo person. Indians are interlopers upon Canadian civilization.

I think the most scary part about it is that they are populating a part of Canada that has the most seats so now it will probably accelerate a lot. all these people seemed really friendly though and being friendly is a hallmark of being Canadian. Maybe slow it down slightly though we need to build housing and infrastructure to support the growing population and if we grow to fast we are gonna end up in shit.

They can find whatever community resources (financial, legal, medical, et al) without having to step outside the community. They have been able to "replicate" India in their Host country. I think what local Canadians may resent so much is the new Competition for whatever low - wage labour and community resources are left over post Pandemic. I don't think most Canadians have a problem with Indians. I think we have a problem with our government who is not able to enforce a policy that puts the country first. Immigration built Canada and good immigration creates jobs and opportunities. What we're seeing is the government exploiting everyone who built his country. A lot of Indians work here for cheap labour because the government and other regulatory bodies turn a blind eye if it means they can gain the trust and votes of the people they are essentially lying to. It's a shame to see because no one In this situation on either side is really happy.

This is the fault of Canadians. The whole concept of Multiculturalism is a façade. What the hell did you all think would happen when you bring a bunch of people to the country but tell them they can hold on to their own beliefs and cultures? Canadian government needs to be filled with only white and indigenous politicians. No outsiders your family must have lived in canada for 4 generations, that way they shoupd fully understand how and what canadians want and need. Plain and simple. I deal with truck drivers all day every day. 99% of the drivers are Indian. Seeing someone white is almost as rare as seeing a woman driving. Some are very nice. Some are very rude and entitled. I dont mind immigration. What I dont like is people thinking their still in India and attempting to change canadian values. We need to slow it down and vet people. Stop letting people pour in so you can stay in power. Liberals need to start caring about Canadians!

It’s very interesting because Indians seem to be more thick skinned than Canadians in general, so even white ppl’s reservations or microaggressions don’t register to them and they just keep expanding on positivity. I’ve met many Indian people in Canada and it almost seems like they’re so positive and community minded that they think it’s small minded to be stingy about sharing space, which can clash with the general reserved nature of Canadians but also make you feel embarrassed in a way about being judgmental. You even see it in this video with the white guy asking judgey questions to Indians but he gets showered with food and hospitality from the Indians. I'm a Brampton resident. My family immigrated in the late 90s. I grew up on YTV, TVO kids, Fox Kids, Treehouse TV. I also still grew up knowing my own native culture and religion. I attend one of these temples of worship. Despite this, I still made friends with different races of people. I think my community needs to branch out a little more and learn about other cultures that live amongst us. Maybe we need to have a little less pride on where we come from? I don't know what the exact answer is. One thing I know is we can definitely get along. Just need the community to adapt more and actually learn Canadian culture. Maybe go see a Blue Jays game at the Skydom? Maybe know who Wayne Gretzky is?? LOL.

Just wanna say, cause I don't think its said enough, I commend the journalistic integrity that you started out with and maintain throughout your work. Thank you for your commitment to hearing many sides of the story. My brother is a journalist in NYC and he also amplifies voices that are so often drowned out by louder, flashier ones. As a Canadian, who was born in South Africa, but have grown up in BC since elementary school, I feel incredibly grateful for the opportunity this country has given my family. We all work hard to build on the values shared in this nation. I love learning about aspects of Canada that I am unfamiliar with, but ultimately help shape its identity. 🙏

Videos like these would be nicer if you did research/fact-checked people's statements. I know the purpose is to get the POV of the general populace, but it sucks hearing at the end of the video "Well, idk why" when you could improve the quality of the video by supporting or rejecting claims people make. Also, asking more balanced questions instead of biased ones is another way you can improve. For example, no difficult questions or claims against the anti-immigration Canadians were given - they were basically just asked "why do you think this?" On the other hand, the pro-immigration migrants were given questions regarding claims made by the anti-immigrant Canadians - which again was never fact checked by your team. It's difficult and feels like a waste of time when we're just hearing testimony - as important as each individual's story is - but without any critical thinking or research applied.

Canada calls students to give them PGWP after finishing their educations in Canada. The students pay ultra high education and life expenses. Then, Canada says we don’t need this much skilled worker as white collar, but you can works as uber drivers or Tim Hortons workers. The reason is Canadian youths don’t want to work in those odd jobs. However, Canadian people complain about the immigrant odd workers. They think economy is bad because of those immigrants who paid thousands of dollars for education and have been working in odd jobs. This is stupidity. Canada government exploits immigrant students by making them spend thousands for education and can only provide odd jobs for most of the immigrant students who hold PGWP work visa. Then some almost-racist Canadian folks stand against immigrants who have actually been exploited.

Indias work hard in every sector so people see them all the time and they think Indians are going to take over and they are real problem But real problems is Ukraine and refugees from everywhere who get free houses and live on welfare and even they get free dental.They are living on Canadian tax payer money. Indian spirituality penetrated western thinking in the 1960s and that was followed by cuisine from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal etc. So generally people in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, etc have welcomed people from the Indian sub-continent. So I reside in Ontario, I live in a city they call the armpit of Ontario. And everytime I come to this restaurant (I dont want to say what restaurant but if u ask id tell you) - I would see a lot of them coming in by groups and they wear clothes like they still live back to whatever country they are from and would sit on their chairs cross legged as other people eat their food. Every hour theres dozens of them coming and I came to think are these people even legally here. It is just crazy to me as a legal immigrant where me and my family waited for 8 years for the application process, spent hundreds of thousands of money meanwhile I see people that arent from here and not even try to assimilate to Canadian culture. It is just infuriating.

As someone who is born in Canada as an Indian. This is absolutely sad to here. I want the best for Canadians who are born and raised here. I have 10 years of experience working in the nation I was raised and I am having some people have my job who aren't even fit for the job. It makes no sense to me. Our wages have stalled due to international students for a better life, but at the end I want money just like other Canadians who have been here for ages. Also we need to end why our government allows lucrative hiring contracts overseas for cheaper positions in certain degrees and diplomas. In addition, why are all of our call centers placed all over the world. From Africa, south east Asia, South Asia. Those jobs can be available here. We can have a decomcratic country if our country didn't care about just "growth" we didn't need more immigration. We needed systematic change in government, schools, common sense, I could go on. I think us as Canadians don't know how corrupt the world really is. Look at other countries and how they work. It's lucrative essentives to benefit only certain people. I would rather have our tax payer money be used to fix the system. My dad's been here since the 1980s and he is sad for everyone. This is a loss on both ends. We didn't create new universities, new highways to support the population, no hospitals, new schools. I remember when my class sizes were 18 to 20 kids. We need change, not radical because we were never that. Let's do what we do best and be Canadians for us first.

I am Indian and here we have few states : Punjab, Haryana and Gujurat from where where every mid to low tier graduate wants to move to Canada cause it would be an easy life upgrade. The top tier ones don't go to diploma mills . Mostly they go to top US universities. Canada isn't getting any of these. I was thinking how stupid the Canadian admins could be.

Indian's look at Canada as a very easy to fooled country when it comes in immigration policy, all Indian's work together the one in India and the one who lives in Canada, opening a fraud school to sell course acceptance letter to be approved of student visa. They come not to study but to work and then later on apply for PR. As a recent student of Conestoga College, I can say that the school is only a diploma mill. Half of the students in my class only showed up for tests. Some spoke no English and the cheating is so rampant that most teachers turn a blind eye! They’re passing students who should not be passing. And if you think Canadians are racist you should have been at Conestoga College as your eyes would have been opened!

I can only hope and pray for our Beautiful country to belong to us Born and Raised Canadians again. That these people will be pushed out of our country eventually.
