It is always difficult for a new immigrant to find friends immediately but most OECD countries such as Canada would be the same. Clearly there are some cultural issues to understand, and perhaps language problems but finding employment can be a first step to solving this as well as joining those support groups who have a similar background to yourself. If you leave Canada I don't see how this would be any different in the new country you choose to settle in.

It's unfair that students who arrived with substantial fees from their home countries are now being considered refugees. The government should simply refuse their registration without processing their claims. They clearly do not fit the definition of refugees, so why register them and provide them with food, medicine, bus tickets, park passes, and toys for their children? If you go to Delhi on a visitor visa, why would the Indian government approve you of a post-graduation work permit or permanent residency? This is because India is not a country who have policies or programs for student visas or permanent residency for immigrants. Yes, indeed, they should not demand permanent residency, but it is not the students who make these immigration programs including student visas or temporary work permits or pr, it's the Canadian government who introduced all these policies, and if somebody is applying for student visa and spending $50000 for studies, they are applying because they see potential for permanent residency and that's how immigration websites do the marketing for attracting the international students. If they had known that work permits or pr is not possible through any programs, they would not have applied at the first point. It's the government's responsibility to make it clear on their policies or on immigration websites. Now they started making it strict by closing those programs but it's too late, what about the people who are already here invested their money. They did not enter Canada by just waking up one day and thought lets go Canada. The government welcomed them and they approved them. The argument of the reporter is totally wrong because they did not know that they would face hatred or racism when they applied for student visas. Now they saw a large population and started hating.

I've only ever been to Winnipeg. I did see that the country was friendly, but it was a bit empty. We drove there, so we saw the countryside as well. It was pretty spread out. \n\nI do agree that the USA is very different depending where you are at. I grew up in rural Minnesota, and now live in Nebraska, so still pretty rural. The weirdest place in all of the US was Los Angeles. I do agree that there are clear borders between racial neighborhoods. One street was all Mexicans looking for work, and a block or two away was all Japanese in black pants/skirts and white shirts. like it was a uniform they're required to where or something. My friend who lived in canada for 14 years. His wife get pregnant and they could not get appointment to see doctor untill 8 to 9 weeks waiting. One time they went for emergency and waiting time was 43 hours. Seriously, Canada have poorest healthcare systen. He clearly said that he did biggest mistake to moved in canada 14 years back. I am not A Canadian I’m an American, but I interact with lots of Canadians as they find themselves coming down here for one reason to the other and I’m not near the border either. I’m quite far into the US in a major US city.\n\nThere are two types of Canadians that distinct themselves. The first group is the ones that are themselves immigrants that are naturalized. I make this distinction because many cases they have not assimilated. They still have their own culture from another country and is pointed out by the narrator people from south Asia and Asia strongly have their culture And language \n\n( Canada is good for allowing people to live in communities to cut themselves off from the main screen. You have people who speak the Ukrainian language Going Back 4 generations)\n\nThen I’m gonna have to use a euphemism that might make peoples hair stand on the back of their neck. I’m gonna call them. The white Canadians has a euphemism. These are people who are going so far back from the British Isles for the most part and the French also speak another language who have no connection to Europe. As a immigrant who recently got Canadian citizenship, I would like to clear few things here. I noticed that the host of the show has some wrong perception in his mind for international students. I agree that the basic jobs should be allocated to the young population or elderly population and international student should sustain themselves, but on the other hand why don't' the colleges charge the same fees that they charge to domestic applicants ?...the international students pays 5X to 10X the fees that the local student pays for the same courses. Also, when the student applies for visa they already pay 20000K to a Canadian bank for the future monthly payments that they will get so sustaining is not a problem. most of these students work so that they can contribute to the 5X fees that they have to pay. Also, when it comes to skill, the students skills are assessed by the universities and colleges and only after that they come to Canada. If you see an immigrant working in Tim Hortons or Food basics, don't worry he will be out of there in 2 years to a high paying skillful job that local population won't do. Now, when I say all this the immigration problem is real, but it is not because of the student who comes here, pays higher fees and than work in Canada, pay higher taxes and contribute to GDP and economy. your problem is with refugees and immigrants who are brought in mass immigration, who does not have skills. Because this is the population which you brought with to match the labor shortage but can not work so you provide them subsidies, assistance etc. and dig a hole in government funds...…now for the host he seems to have an agenda against Indian immigrants in particularly. The delivery guy made the mistake of not recording the customer as well! This type of behavior by anyone is unprofessional and should be reported to the place of the customer's employment. The customer also talks in an accent and not because hes mocking the indian accent but it seems he has a jamaican ,Haitian , or African accent.
