The problem is NOT color, it's CULTURE. In Mexico, Mexican landlords would rather rent to Americans and Canadians than to other Mexicans, their waiters would rather wait on foreigners, and their cabbies will turn down five locals in hopes of getting a gringo passenger. Profiling is based on the accuracy of the statistical probability of incidence. Instead of being offended, be realistic. People have every right (and reason) to be reserved or suspicious for whatever reason they choose. Prove them wrong (without whining and/or rioting) if you want it to stop.

If you hide your face in the west we get suspicious.. it's not because of your race because you were it because of religion.. but anyway we are just not used to it and your dressed like what we portray on tv in movie etc as a robber a bad guy

I'm half white (but look full white) and have only been followed once in my whole life (I was dressed in rags tbh). When I'm with my half brother who looks black, we are followed at every store. That being said, his demeanor is pretty suspicious. He puts his hood up, hands in pockets, and hunches over. He likes to look at nicer stuff like watches too. He's autistic but to any security guard he looks like a guy trying to shoplift. It's a shame.

Try next time having them wear something if then ran from police would never be able to get away. You have ppl show up in a store all in black then ask them to act suspicious then yeah... Like most of these shows its biased they setup these situations to make a good video making companies look bad. This biased film shpuld feel bad for creating this video.

I am Latino, more or less capuccino skin (with extra milk), I can say that racial experiments here would be very interesting. I finnished university and have experience in my field. I've been looking for a job for a while, not much luck, I'm don't get called to interviews that much, I only get calls from agents that show me positions in company that I apply for but 90% of the time get rejected right away. \n\nI have white friends, one of them didn't study university. It hasn't been easy for him either, but he's pretty lazy, I know for a fact he didn't search much and got 7 interviews in 3 months while I hardly got called for 3 companies with the help of 5 agents. He got a job for which he needed training, I got rejected for that job and I do have experience in that field. I have to say it hurts. Funny thing, even he says it's suspicious because he couldn't answer many questions on the interview

Im surprised Canada allowed this to get this far. Anyone covering themselves up is very suspicious. Muslims need to stop pushing their fake religion into mainstream. U don’t see Christians wearing robes to work. The Muslim fake religion is based on nothing real, my Muslim friend said. Jesus was a real person. There is no real basis to their religion. If I see someone covered up, I do not shop at that store for fear of a shootout. Any lunatic can be under scarves in banks, Churches or schools. In this chaotic world which Muslims have contributed a lot to, we do not need to be covering ourselves up, especially suppressed women from archaic views made by man, not God.

This is bad racial profiling for sure, Shoppers Drugmart is bad.\nAlthough I'm white, when I have a backpack on I'm often asked if I need help.\nThey're usually more suspicious with people who wear backpacks, but certainly racism is a factor here too.

The media did a great job profiling white skin people as charming, civilized, with good manners, rich, eating healthy. Because the media did a great job in feeding us with Groupthinking, we are unconsciously practicing what we were fed, we give to white people the best jobs, we open for them the best opportunities and we are suspicious of other races, even if we belong to those other races.

So there is no racism in Regina for Apartments. So they say racism. Then they get the native guy to go to the store and act suspicious. Right.

Companies cannot take the chance that anyone who looks suspicious is going to steal their stock. That's why they watch certain people in stores. Also, it is unwise to get into a fight or verbally confront someone who is having an argument with someone else. That person may pull a knife or a gun. The best thing to do is call the police.

I work at Walmart and they trained us what’s called “Aggressive Hospitality” pretty much it’s only really necessary when you see someone suspicious or you know they have already stolen. However that Best Buy store was too much. If you can’t tell a suspicious person from someone who’s black you have a problem.

The Indian guy went into shopper's with 2 bags one of which was totally empty. If you act suspicious, then that's what you're going to get. Lousy set up job CBC.

Extremist in any religion are dangerous to society\n\nBut its duty of all other people in that religion to recognize and condemn anything bad happing in their religion, be vocal and report any suspicious activity.\n\nPeace and love is a way forward not guns and bombs ?

How come noone ever talks about the men and women who wear crosses and crucifixes. How do I know these individuals are not conducting themselves according some extremist Christian belief system? Humans- as an animal - are hard wired to be suspicious of variances in their environment. It's a survival trick that has kept Humans alive for centuries. What we are supposed to do is use our intellect to separate Real threats from I agi ed ones. Unfortunately not all Humans have the developed ability to do this.

Maybe you shouldn't wear backpacks in stores then whether you're any race wearing a backpack in the store look suspicious lol

Not all white store workers who ask you if you need help are doing so because they think you will steal. Yes, I believe you! I know it happens, but I am a cashier, and sometimes I work on self scan. During very slow times, I will see confused customers looking around, so I ask if they need help. I do that with black, white or Hispanic people. I ONLY do it if they look confused. I enjoy helping people, so for me, it's altruistic. Please don't assume all are suspicious of you. Try and know the difference between the suspicious ones vs the ones who truly care.

I’m always scared to get accused of shoplifting, not because I’m black but just because I take ages to look at 1 article. I can stay more then 1 hour in the store. I usually do every aisle even the ones that don’t concern me like the baby section. I just like to see what is new, what is available. \nI live in a country where shoplifting is not really an issue, so I’m used to doing what I want in the shops. I went on holiday in the US and completely forgot that I was not home. I went to target and didn’t take a basket as I was suppose to only buy 1 thing. When I picked up more then 5 articles I put a few in my pocket. It’s only when I got to the cashier that I was like “ I’m crazy this is not my country “. Good thing nothing happened. \nAlso I’m a day dreamer so I always look suspicious in shops.

Sometimes they’re walking in the stores with huge jackets and bags. Who wouldn’t be suspicious of that?
|
| 2018-04-29 | 1 |
While I don't deny there's racial profiling in stores, if you walk around suspiciously in the aisles and don't even have a basket or cart, of course the shopkeepers will be worried and it doesn't matter what race you are.

I wonder if all this time when I constantly bump into employees if they're monitoring me as well.\n\nI'm half Native but don't _exactly_ look it because my dad was really pale. You can tell I'm not 100% white but I could pass.\n\nI do walk around with my own grocery bags because I take the bus/walk home, so I do look a tad suspicious I suppose, so that kind of makes me wonder. They seem very friendly when I speak to them or ask for help though so maybe it's a coincidence.

If you make to eye contact with a security guard, then they are trained to treat you as a suspicious person. Doesn't matter what race.

At 21:22 did you see how suspicious he walked in with a random empty tote bag. I would suspect him of intent to steal too just based on that.

Allah comes first, not Canada. That is why there are no muslims who reports suspicious mosques or people being radicalised. They pray for death to infidels and jews every day. The niqab is not part of the koran and to say it is a form of respect for their god is an outright lie. But Taquiyya, or lying to further islam, is allowed. Muslims can even lie when swearing on the koran. This is the first interview I have seen where a practicing muslim doesn't lie about islam.

I think wearing a black hooded jacket with a black toque on wouldn't help his cause either. I think in general, store employees are trained to monitor customers and maybe they're in a bad part of the city where theft is high. I think a person coming into a store looking around through all the isles and doesn't make a purchase can seem suspicious to anyone...I'm Asian and even I would flag customers like this...it has nothing to do with race.

I know racism exist being Mexican living in Mexico, I have experienced that. Although the shopping and looking for apartment experiment is great, has anyone stop and think yes it is about race or color of the skin but also a interesting point is your clothing and overall appearance instead of the skin sometimes, when shopping if I see someone entirely dressed in black with hat and some sunglasses isn't that suspicious (of course is discriminating but I have to use that example in order to make my point) instead of actual color of the skin? I think that's another aspect to further study, how you dress and the image you project is a factor for discrimination itself, instead purely based on the race.

think about how long 20 minutes actually is, that a long time to walk around suspiciously
|
| 2016-02-26 | 7 |
No matter what race, age, or gender, you will look suspicious aimlessly walking around a retail store for 20-30min without asking for help by anyone. In my experience in retail, 80%+ of shoplifters will walk around the store for 20-30min, look at all different products throughout the isles, will not ask for help, and will leave without purchasing anything. If you do this in a retail store, it will look suspicious. This is what we are trained to look for.

Canadians have lived their lives being seen and heard, since the beginning. Seeing the faces of hidden Canadians, and to hide one's face becomes suspicious. Women of the Middle East should be GLAD, if not more, to have found a Country where they can continue to embrace their religion WITHOUT hiding their faces. Finally a safe place where they can be themselves, face and all!

more white guilt propaganda bullshit. Im not a racist so don't brand me one, what I want is true equality which means that I'm not going to pander to minorities for the sole reason that they are minorities. The incessant complaining about stereotypes towards blacks is ridiculous, all races have their own stereotypes. If someone saw a well dressed black person heading into an office building they wouldnt think twice but if someone saw a young black kid dressed like a gangster, smoking dope and acting shady theyre going to think suspiciously of you and there is nothing wrong with that. stop making it about race when it has a lot more to do with how you behave and act. The drive to get more black people in positions over authority for the sake of diversity is itself racist, the best person for the job is the person who should be in office if 8/10 judges are white and they are in fact the best people for the job then their should be no desire to change such things, we need to evaluate the character of a person and not their race. So much bullshit in this video it would take me hours to pick it apart.

Women should wear what they want. However, there are signs on Bank doors saying 'do not wear bike helmets' yet these Muslim women can have only their eyes showing and get away with it for religious reason. They might as well walk into the Bank wearing a balaclava. They are intimidating, you are removing their human features thus making them threatening and suspicious. There should be exceptions, like when and where you can wear them if we cannot remove it completely at least.
