I'm glad they're starting to pay attention to the northern border. For too long have they ignored the Canadian border with the false assumption that nobody dangerous comes through that border.

I'm glad Canada is helping to stem the flow, but at the end of the day, it is our responsibility to secure our border, not theirs.

Just like you have to protect your southern boarder the USA needs to have accountability at the northern border. So what’s with the double standard. It’s not all on Canada. As a Canadian I’m glad that we are doing something about this. But as the southern border was closed we have a lot more people coming to Canada illegally trying to get to the states or staying here. We have to do more, of course we do.

Canada doesn’t give a damn about securing the border. I’m sure they’re just glad to see them leave their country, they give a damn less about what’s coming into hours so long as they don’t have to put up with them.

We have our own housing shortage that needs to be addressed for existing Canadians who are struggling. I'm glad we are taking a pause and redifining the structure of how and who we receive into Canada. Until we sort out the housing crisis, which is in every major city, there simply aren't enough homes to help those in need and address newcomers who aren't financially self sufficient. If those immigrating to another country, they should provide their new country with their own financial means of support, or be of a profession that is in demand, the sooner they get jobs and pay into the system, the better.

I hate that Canada is having to stand up to my country, but I'm glad that they are willing to. We are going down a very dark path and as much as it pains me to say, I think that distancing themselves from the US is a very wise decision. I was in the Navy 1976-1996. I came in when women were looked down on by sailors. They had their reasons, but things changed in the 80s. Women served on ships, filled most rates, flew planes, captained commands on shore and at sea (surface and sub). There were issues with gays, and now there's this. I have always thought that as long as one can do the job and not discredit the Navy, have at it and I'm glad to serve with you. USN / USNR E-8 retired
