Yes I was, after Trump got elected no. Disabled human rights are horrible here and as compensation for lawsuits can be capped in cases that is unlikely to change. These are east Indians coming from the UK. They had US visas from the UK. What is Canada to do when they are in transit passengers from the UK and given fake or real but seems fake US visas. All international intransit passengers dont go through customs at their stop over country. Its an international fact. I was born and raised in Canada and last august I left to move to the Czech Republic. If you’ve ever been there you’ll know it’s not the cheapest country and I live in the most expensive city. I still am able to afford to live off my not so high salary of an English teacher. I wouldn’t be able to afford living away from my parents in Canada, I’m not saying it’s been easy or cheap, I have 6 roommates and my rent is over 50% of my monthly salary. I had to take out a loan from my parents to afford all the visa fees and hidden costs of moving to another country. However if I had stayed in Canada I would have been earning less because I couldn’t find a job in my field. I am filled with rage about the governments decisions to mess up the country like they have. And yes we have an immigration problem but they are not the problem, it’s the government. My mother was an immigrant to Canada, and yes she’s doing okay right now but things have changed a lot since she immigrated and how Canada is now.

If they had it their way they would have been independent since the 1750s. They don't even like to speak English. I am an Indian, came here for ML research. Was unpleasantly surprised to witness so many unskilled Indians ruining the country. Uneducated, can't speak English, rude, unkempt. Like I love my country but I also love the country I immigrated to. I know tons of Indian friends like me who feel the same way. We all feel like we scammed ourselves into coming here. Every doordash and uber guy in Toronto is an Indian guy, who probably came here through a diploma mill. Why did Canada let this happen? I live in germany and grew up here. I know racism since school. Even I have a German passport and speak fluently german, I will still be an immigrant for them. I have problems to find a good job. I live in Germany for about 6 years, moving from Bosnia and didnt have any of those problems mentioned, excluding the bureaucratic hurdels. Granted, i do speak German natively since ive spent my early childhood years here. To be fair i do think that learning the language of the nation you are moving to as fluently as possible should be a no brainer.\nWhat people arround the world need to understand is that European countries are NOT the USA. These are nations that exist for thousands of years with clear cultural parameters born out of centuries of strugle, war and hardship. These are strongly embeded into the minds of the people living here. The jist of it is that Europeans have known this for a long time, literally knowing ´´what the others are like´´. So its much easier to adapt. Of course it helps that most European countries have simmilar religious and social values.

To all those supporting the cracking down on these ‘illegals’ there’s something I need to know. Tell me, if they folks had an option to immigrate legally, would they? Do you think it’s some kind of malicious effort to come here against the law, or are they coming here out of desperation? Many of these people come from places like Haiti, Colombia, or Guatemala. Places that the CIA and American tax dollars destroyed. I love Americans. Although that's a general statement and just like Canada, there are jerks there just like here, for the most part I get along great with them. There are pros and cons to living in Canada and the U.S., For the most part, I believe Canada is the superior country. We have a superior healthcare system, superior banking system, superior snacks, and superior safety. However, Trudeau is killing that. He's destroyed our country to the point that one more term, and it may well be expedient to move to the USA. He's destroying our economy, our values, our culture. We have the resources to top the USA in every way, but we've never had leadership to make that happen. The U.S. has a superior economy, retail, and military. Although some may argue that the USA has superior freedoms, I'm not sure I agree with that. I know I don't feel freer when I travel there. I will definitely travel to the U.S. again. I have lots of friends there who I love and would love to see. However, it will take more Trudeau for me to want to move there. I've lived here 6 years and can't wait to leave. Salaries are just enough to get by. I work full-time as an analyst and am looking for a minijob just to save money, which I already live quite modestly. It's easy to come across nasty unfriendly people, neighbors, service people, people in government agencies. I hate people staring in the most unfriendly manner or givng attitude for no reason other than they are nasty people. Don't get me wrong, there are nice people as well, but the bad experiences outweigh the good. Beauracracy is overbearing, personalities are underwhelming, the food scene is underwhelming, learning German is a big burden when you work a full-time job (and now I need a minijob too??). The country seems like it wants to diminish the human spirit and ambition. I definitely regret moving here. Many housing companies are over charging rent. I found out the company, Deutschewohnen, who owns my apartment was overcharging me by nearly double!! I had to go through a year long court procession to get them to lower it to the legal price which I won. And now they sent me a letter last month saying they are raising my rent, which is illegal and I have to go through ANOTHER court battle with them. Of course it is exhausting to try and find another apartment. Some people search up to a year. What a joke. And not to mention the dating scene. I've been single the entire 6 years and I'm quite an outgoing, friendly, loveable person. Dating Germans comes with own weird experiences and I refuse to give them a chance anymore, for my own mental health. If you're POC, it's not uncommon to come across strange sexualizations and general lack of understanding other's cultures. A couple years ago I was attacked by 8 men while walking home at night. I ended up in the hosopital and there was an investigation opened. The police asked me why they attacted me, which I didn't know since it was unprovoked. They just followed me for awhile, surrounded me and started beating me. The police said it was probably because I'm Asian. Meanwhile, I'm not even Asian!!!
