As an American, Trudeau, as he mentioned in his speech, is no friend of mine. These tariffs aren't going to hurt me any more than the last 4 years in america has under democrat leadership. I lost family to fentanyl, I lost my job due to terrible democrat economic policies. I lost my home. I lost my savings. I lost all hope of ever owning a home. Im losing my mother to what I am sure was the jab. I've got nothing left to take. Tariffs aren't going to hurt me. Liberal policies, from people just like Trudeau, have destroyed my life. I want to see him in ruins.\n\nI feel for the citizens of Canada. I don't care what liberal news media says- I know that Canadian people want him gone too.

Trump is smart. it's blackmail, he scares you with 25% tarrifs. then he will say, we can deal now for 15% or 10 BUT you need to give me this and give me that like minerals etc... if we dont well then our Canadien compagnies will either shut down or they will have to move to the States and than will give new jobs in the States. lol there you go win win for the States. President Trump and you need to work it all out. As far as blanket tariffs go, I do agree that your goods and services, including tariffs should be mutually broken down to create benefits for all. Part of my lineage is from Quebec, and here USA. We all need to help each other. Laser focus to arrest and put in prison all drug terrorists should be everyone's focus. The US isn't launching a trade war against anyone. We are closing up shop and are getting ready to take care of our own. There is a massive difference. We cannot be expected to continue supporting other countries economies and defense obligations, when we have 2 generations of working class citizens unable to afford a home or have children. We have entire countries we could fill with the homeless and incarcerated, and veterans who see little to no positive treatment or respect within the job market. Things are already very very bad here in the states. I don't think many Americans realize how bad the economy is. Tariffs will force US companies to reduce the outsourcing of jobs, and force other countries who are over-reliant on trade from the States, to cultivate their own self-sufficiency. This may seem hypocritical when it comes to China, but that isn't a problem you can solve overnight. \n\nTo make it clear, Americans are going to suffer in the wake of this tariff decision, but that is the price we pay to force ourselves to change. We have made ourselves into a very weak country because of overreliance on other countries trade, and other countries overreliance on our intelligence, infrastructure, medical advancements, technological advancements, and defense capabilities. The american consumer and taxpayer front the bills for all of this, and they are suffering. This isn't a war on the rest of the world. Yep it's going to be interesting \nAs I work for an international Automotive injection molding company based here in the US\nWe import Raw materials from Europe and China plus within the US and who knows where these materials come from.\nBut we also export finished products and materials to Europe, China, Canada, Mexico just to name afew.\nThat is a lot of tariffs placed on these products and that doesn't include tax, cost of labor, manufacturing costs\ngoing to be interesting what the future holds

Trump is attempting to offset his tax cuts by implementing a tax that isn't called a tax. All of the money from the tariffs goes to the government. Trump has mentioned when tariffs were common as supporting what he is doing, but he doesn't add that at that time, there wasn't an income tax, so tariffs were how the government supported itself. Trump, knowing that tariffs are income for the government, is lying to his base so they will accept the increased prices as a necessary evil to battle the bad countries of Mexico and Canada. It will look like his tax breaks aren't hurting as much as they are and price increases will be the fault of the other countries.\n\nTrump is a conniving grifter with no knowledge of how to run a country's economy or international trade. He is gaslighting the American public to cover his own shortcomings.\n\nAlso, if fentanyl is entering the US, why is it the fault of the other countries? It is the job of the US to stop anything on its side of the border. Canada and Mexico do what they can to catch the drugs while inside their respective countries. The tons of cocaine and guns that enter Canada and Mexico from the US are caught by their border services; they don't blame the US for the products getting past their own border agents, and the US takes no responsibility for it making it across the border. Why is it other countries' fault for drugs getting past the US's border agents, but not the fault of the US that guns and drugs are going in the other direction? That is why countries work together, not fight over whose fault it is and try to punish each other.

That didn't vote for him and wish that what is going on in America is just a nightmare. \nPeople are protesting , wishing more politicians would stand up to Trump and the government he is creating. \nHow can people be so blind to his ways. I don't hold Canada or any other nation raising the tariffs. Im beside myself on the way my country is going.

A message to Trudeau. Put an export tax on the Oil and Electricity sold to the United States. Open up new European Markets for Oil and Natural Gas product and sell directly to Europe and Japanese markets. China needs oil, there is plenty of market around the world for our products. The Tariff's imposed by Trump is only going to make product to the US more expensive for their own citizens, and with Tariff's on all American imports, if they can't make it, or they don't have the raw materials to make it themselves, they will have to pay more. It is not necessary to impose Tariff's on USA Products to penalize Canadians, but Canadians will find new markets to replace the US, and we won't even notice it happened. We have alternatives. The southern islands are great vacation locations, and with the weather disasters they have suffered over the past few years, they could use the tourist support to help rebuild, and, their people are friendly and don't carry guns.

Maybe building a Boarder Wall on America's Northern Boarder would be a good idea. Canada is responsible to guard our boarders and allow in only those who we feel qualify. People aren’t even talking about tourism because it’s not directly hit by tariffs. Over 20 billion dollars in 2024 spent by Canadians in the US for travel. Tons of people already cancelled any trips to the US to boycott. If even 10% less people go to US this year, upwards of 2 billion in tourism $ is gone , and roughly 14000 jobs estimated. \n\nImagine what else could be affected
