As a Canadian, love or hate Justin Trudeau (I don't even like him as a centre left person), this may be one of his best speeches. Proud to be Canadian and happy to see support from our friends across the border! ??

LOL compare this to a Trump Speech .... one comes across as a Statesman , the other a bad Vegas lounge act...

wow, Trudeau's speech is like a war speech: so powerful, so clear, intelligent, sharp, coherent, brave. Can he maybe become the president of the USA and bring Canada & the USA under one flag? No need for mr orange anymore to babble & threaten to annex Canada.

Hope my Europe will help Canada, buying their products to fight for liberty against this fat mafia boss. I'm no admirer of Trudeau, but this was a great speech. (Can you imagine Donnie making a coherent speech like this? ?) but I disagree with him on one thing: Donnie is NOT a very smart guy. (Although I know why Trudeau felt he had to say that).

A brilliant speech. Honest and forthright. But lets get to the nitty gritty. It's about time the rest of the world realized that life does not revolve around the USA. There is NATO and even though political views differ there is a union to assist each other. America is on the path to a Dictatorship. Trump has the means and the backing to do it. If he gets his third term this will become a reality and there appears no one is prepared to stand in his way.

Whether you are either a Liberal or Conservative or Independent north or south of the border, I hope you agree that this speech was one of the best heard and said this year.

I loved the speech of PM Trudeau- but one thing he kept saying is wrong. Our government did not do this - One man did this via executive orders. He does not care who he hurts. He does not care about the American people. Trump only cares about himself and his relationship with Mother Russia and Putin. TRUMP doesn't want peace. He is thriving on the chaos that he and Musk are initiating. Trump needs to be impeached immediately but our Congresmaen and women, who are supposed to represent their populations are too scared to do anything other than what Trump tells them to do. Our Government is supported to have a Check and Balance function, but none of the branches have the guts to stand up to TRump. I really believe that Trump's American first policy is to end up as America ALONE.

I'm European, but I lived in Canada for a couple of months and actually got to see Trudeau speak live in Parliament. He gave a very different speech that day - a eulogy. I did not think then I would ever hear this man this very obviously pissed off. He's like one of those teachers that don't need to shout to show their students they are in big trouble. I don't know if I would vote for him if I was Canadian, but I would certainly be proud of him right now.

As a South African, I want to say that this trade war, as well as the hostile approach of Trump towards Canada, is devastating. If one were not experiencing it directly, it would be almost impossible to believe. This is such a remarkable speech that it will go down in history as one of the truly great speeches in times of crisis. It is entirely correct to address the American and Canadian peoples directly, as the Prime Minister has done. They are both clear victims of this madness, Americans misled, and Canadians the target, of this senseless trade war. If one reads History, there is another dimension to this, and I hate to say it. Canadians have to prepare themselves for worse. These types of antics by the aggressor usually involve, finger pointing, contrived border incidents, plausibly deniable incursions and other actions, by the aggressor, which one can find if the preludes to the WW1 and WW2 are studied. I am not sure if you have porcupines in Canada, but you need to rapidly become one.

Perhaps if you are going to broadcast our Prime Minister's speech, one that Canadians need to and want to hear, you might have the courtesy and respect to LET HIM SPEAK rather than bring in colleagues to talk. Gotta disagree w/ Mr. Trudeau on one point, when he says Trump is 'very smart'--NO. Otherwise, Trudeau's speech was spot-on, and I love and respect Canada even more now. Most of us Americans cannot be proud of our country; we are held captive by a wannabe dictator and his stooges who are self-serving, vindictive, and UNpatriotic! To gather some semblance of sanity, I am taking the family on a Canadian Rockies tour in late spring--am tempted to not return home again.

Can I say I am not a huge fan of Trudeau, but I take my hat off and say bravo for this speech. Calling Putin a 'lying, murderous dictator' is absolutely correct. In recent days all Trump's YES people when asked direct simply questions like 'Was Russia and Putin responsible for the invasion of Ukraine', simply can't bring themselves to answer anymore. We talk about Trump Derangement Syndrome, well all these Trump ring kissers are suddenly suffering from Putin Infatuation Disorder, one of the key symptoms being an inability to criticise or apportion wrong doing or blame on Putin. Bravo again Trudeau for being blunt, honest and direct, this orange ape needs to go.

There are BILLIONS of ppl who in Africa, South America and Islam multiplied one thousand times in 100 yrs. They will not stop rapidly recklessly multiplying and of course, high numbers of kids per adult, esp abandoned mothers, creates poverty. Even if they make it to adulthood on hand outs stolen from your tax dollars they cannot possibly keep up with infrastructure, housing, sanitation, education, roads etc for an exploding population. You cannot possibly keep up with their needs.
