What a HORRIBLE feeling it is to be targeted this way by a big ugly SOCIOPATHIC criminal!!! I am in tears. This is the most depressing, surreal, gut punch. ALL BECAUSE HE IS AFTER OUR HOME SOIL … LITERALLY. He is even more evil than Putin if you ask me.

My Canadian brothers and sisters.......we all didn't vote this person in. We disagree with everything he's doing. From the way he spoke to President Zelensky to these tariffs. The xenophobic, racist, homophobic uneducated humans that calls America home are the ones that got this guy in. People that voted against their own interest. Now we all have to suffer. SMH.

I am a home owner in Canada. Many of my friends can't afford homes in suburbs or remote locations and they are earning more than average folks do.

What I don't understand the taxpayers are the ones that are flipping the government's tap. The billionaires are the ones that are causing the deficit to be so high. Why are they claiming the taxpayers to pay it out Donald Trump and his flunkies are the cause of August problem. The republicans just want more money and just because Joe Biden didn't lift up the. Spending costs Donald Trump got mad and now he's taking it out on the United States. People that pay his seat in the office right now.\n We're all working citizens in the United States. I've been flipped a bill that the government has done just to pocket their there. Money and no pay taxes. This is the billionaires that I'm talking about. Because the average workers middle class are the ones that are paying for all this government. And then you guys wanna raise everything because the year guys is doing taxpayers. Continue to keep paying and all you guys wanna do is keep taking their money. Another word's not to let them save money to buy homes. Dubai.

Born and Raised in Canada and there is another sort of comparison I'm starting to see more and more: We have the Stagnation of Japan and the the Personality of Britain. \n\nWhat I mean by that, the people in Canada, least the older ones (Boomers), got very conservative and never wanted to rock the boat and do new things. They had in their eyes a good thing. They had work and owned their home. None of them wanted to risk that so they kept things the same for the past 3 decades or so. Well a lot has changed around the world, and were pretty much the same old. Literally. In retirement. Whats the last interesting thing Canada has done since the Canadarm? \n\nI can think of a number of achievements the rest of the world has done, including many 3rd world countries. But Canada is the same old. This has become our Culture. We don't talk about new ideas. We witness them online, but we're not Creators. We are Consumers. And that is what I think happened to Britain after they got resettled after WWII. Britain is pretty dry. And so is Canada. Hence our forest fires!

One of the lessons that Canada could learn from Singapore is the implementation of a 99-year ownership lease. In societies with high home owner occupancy, it's difficult to introduce property cooling measures without political pushback from majoritarian home owners. A limited term lease allows for renewal within the property market, allowing new entrants and preventing accrual of property capital wealth.

In Japan buildings depreciate in value, like cars, so the house I built last year is worth less this year (and my taxes on it are less). When I first got here I thought it was a horrible system, but now I see what a powerful benefit it is. Housing is quite affordable and there are lots of mixed neighborhoods, like mine, with million-dollar homes, small multi-units, and fewer gated communities. We suffer from a blight of abandoned buildings because at a certain point it just doesn't make economic sense to fix up an old (often cheaply made) home. But because home ownership is a luxury, like a fancy car, not a necessary means to accrue wealth, mortgages and rents are low and there's cheap (and small, so very very small) housing everywhere.

An average 3 bedroom home in Ontario is like 750k+, unless you go somewhere where there's like no jobs then they are like 600k, and probably need a lot of work

I don't understand the comparison of housing debt to GDP ratio being relevant, other than as some kind of made up benchmark. GDP is an annual number, and mortgages last for decades. How is comparing these numbers directly a measure of anything other than the amount of money invested in mortgages has increased? I would think Household income to Household debt is a more useful measure, but then again, it doesn't capture the amount of capital people have in their homes.

As a home owner (with a mortgage) and nearing retirement, my first reaction is that I want housing prices to remain high so I can get the most from my house when I downsize. \nHowever, my house sale is so I can downsize into a home that I can buy outright with the money I get from selling my bigger current house. If my house value goes down, I would be OK as long as the price that I would pay from a smaller home also goes down. I want to live in a home that would have no mortgage. I will only get the minimum income in retirement so I need to be in a home without a mortgage payment, if at all possible.

Home ownership numbers are skewed, pretty sure anyone a part of a homeowner’s family living there is counted as a homeowner.

Our city governments need to liberalise the housing market, in most cities across Canada it's illegal to build anything other than single family homes. When the developers eventually do push through a multi family building, they have to build a mega tower to offset the costs of the often 2 years approval process. Which makes people hate development more

Your narrative about existing homeowners being in opposition to policies that support home construction is bogus. \n\nThe real story is the following:\n\n1. Canadians are unsure whether building more homes leads to more housing and lower prices. This might sound like a joke but there are now surveys that confirm this. And most Canadians I have asked myself really are unsure whether we should build more homes.\n2. Endless bureaucratic barriers increase the cost of and deter new construction.\n\n\nMany Canadians really believe that building housing increases the price of housing, so they think they are being virtuous when they vote for policies that deter housings construction.\n\nAll of the other economic problems are downstream of the housing shortages.\n\nEdit: For those of you curious about these strange Canadian beliefs, the youtube “About Here” has a decent video on the topic trying to dispel the odd beliefs: https://youtu.be/pbQAr3K57WQ?si=j5l_vWiudz45fiGr

I live in the suburbs of Seattle. I need to win the lotto to move. I'm a sick vet that needs multiple surgeries. I apply for help in my home. All that I get assigned to my house are asylum foreigners that come in to pretend to work....my house is still dirty and they don't help me while I grocery shop...they sit all day SLEEP and play with their cell phones!!! As a vet I'm so close to give em a kick out the door But I just tell them that I have to take a short trip...tell them to go wait in there car till I get back ... I text the agency to tell them to clock out and go home. First time, I told one to leave my house, she SNAPPED on me.

Look at all the proud hispanics that wave their home countries flag in America as if they come from the greatest place on earth, ready to trample each other to get into a western one. It's an invasion.

Well answered,he said it as it should be,…would you leave your home because someone is trying to occupy it or do you try and fight to remain in it??some people are just so narrow minded, all three religions lived peacefully before these Zionist started to form,Islam never mentions of hurting or killing the neighbour but instead in preaches of helping and supporting them,Jewish people are been misguided by these Zionist ideas, saying Muslims want to kill all Jews?absolutely false statements they are making.

The official purpose of international students coming to Canada is to study, complete their education, and return to their home countries to contribute to their own societies. After gaining work experience in their own country, they can apply for legal immigration to Canada by going through the entire immigration process.

Look at their clothes and their cell phones. They are not hurting. They need to go back home.

Our weak foreign policy over the last ten years and the incompetence of the ministry of external affairs is amply exhibited.\n\nU S, now Canada , probably european countries and finally Australia might follow suit \nBack home in India the Modi government has completely ignored unemployment problems and is more busy tippling non BJP goverments and making the country a Hindu Rashtra . The question however remains what will the Hindus survive if there are no jobs , high inflation, poverty and now the influx of immigrants from abroad,, adding to all these.\nProbably that is why the BJP says हिन्दू खतरे में हैं।

Her and her family should all be home since it's such an issue

Is she reporting from home? As in remote working?
2025-02-25 0
As a Canadian I don't blame DT. It's gone way too far. It's not a race thing it's a matter of the effect it has on North America born citizens. Our taxes pay for this over flow and it's given to illegals that get more than the tax payer. I am all about helping but let's take care of the home land first. Further more I find the lack of respect that is so commonly encountered is becoming a major problem for all sides. I can't fathom the entitlement.

Send them all back home. Very good decision Mr. President. I hope after the new government in Germany failed soon, we in Germany get a new Government which make the same decision like you.

Last year, Walmart Canada reported gross revenue of $6 billion, up 1.8% from the previous year. \n \n In 2022, Home Depot brought in approximately 12 billion Canadian dollars of sales. \n \n Costco In Canada and through its international ventures the company generated 34.9 billion and 35.3 billion U.S. dollars, respectively. \n \n you get the point. \n \nThis is scary \n \nA foreign company in Canada does not have a specific time frame to keep its profits in a Canadian bank; however, according to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), most business records, including profits, must be kept for a minimum of six years from the end of the last tax year they relate to. \n \nKey points to remember: \n \nNo legal restriction on withdrawal: \n \nThere is no law that forces a foreign company to keep its profits in Canada for a specific duration. \n \nThis is just a few of the companies from the US that take $100 billion+ out of our economy every year and put it in US banks. why do we let them. they should keep that money in canada. interest rates for loans would go down. \n \n \nAI Overview from google \n \nWhen banks have more money, interest rates tend to go down. This is because a larger money supply increases the amount of credit available, which lowers the cost of borrowing.

if the u.s., it's allies, and nato would stop destroying nations all around the globe for geo political reasons or resource theft then maybe people would have no reason to leave their countries. i'm sure they would much rather be at home than in some racist, morally bankrupt, fascist regime. if you think i'm wrong then look at the comments. disgusting, ignorant, savages. in all of my 72 years i've never seen such hatred, and stupidity. not even in 1960s mississippi.

What is wrong with these people don’t they ever watch the news hello ? trump is in power now go back home
2025-02-23 0
Wow did you say 16000 crossed an artificial line well build a steel wall on it That unprotected border used to be something both countries were proud of. People used to cross the borber to go to work and go home every day. Trump says Canada should become the 51st state but all those brown people will obviously have to go. So all those educated Asians whose first choice was to immigrate to the US but had to settle for Canada and have every reason to support statehood aren't welcome.

You are leaving because your home sucks. Go fix it whatever means it takes. Coming here wont solve the problem. It makes our situation and yours worse.
