How can they even say this, how about helping us Canadians first, the homeless, won't help with housing...They are bringing immigrants here to not work but to live free from our taxes....Really really stupid idea....Where are their priorities

How prepared is Canada to service this amount of people adding to a population that is already under serviced in every area of life, there's healthcare, housing etc. Our healthcare system is in the brink of collapse just trying to service the current population we have, then there's not enough better jobs to survive, even for Canadians on home soil and more people are now depending on welfare, food is dwindling, there's more homeless people than ever, the number of addicts are growing, crime is rising, I could go on and on with the innumerable problems that is not being addressed on Canada's home turf, yet the government's focus is to bring in more immigrants to Canada to feed, house and care for healthwise? Just asking.

Why bring more immigrants now when our cost of living is so high? The labour force has many places for low income wages but places to live and food now is above the ability for minimum wage. Why now for more people to the system that can't afford it?

Unbelievable. So many of us have lost our homes and are on the streets many jobless many disabled many sick many veterans. Why take care of your own just bring in immigrants and give them what little housing there isn't. Don't train us for jobs who are disabled or give us housing or food. Trudeau and Ford disgust us. Rich born boys who had their homes paid for by family money

You bring in all these immigrants expecting them to work? Stop prospecting and work with the existing problem first.

Stop bringing in people who are so different from us. Look at what the government has caused. Racisim and hate. We love immigrants but ones that will fit in. When in Rome do as the Romans do. You are bringing in people who have 100 or more years of anger. And commit crimes and don't blend in.

We can't not afford more immigrants ,when they arrive we give them free medical..and social benefices we older people we had pay for that free medcal by our high income taxes high taxes.we didn't have any help from the governement to raise our children.we work 2 or 3 jobs they dont'work because they don 't know french or english.we don't have any appartement, the hospitals are 150% full we don't have enough teacher ,enough doctor and you want to bring more people.ask them to go on a farm and raise thei own animal and have garden to feed their family like our ancestor did

So basically, the Liberal government plans to depress wages further while increasing the cost of living. I guess rent wasn't high enough so obviously we need to steal a portion of everyone's income to increase the demand for housing by bringing in half a million immigrants per year. This plan is blatantly evil.

If you're bringing in more immigrants, remove the damn red tape that prevents them from working in their specialized field (doctors, nurses, etc.). You guys say that you're going to make a change everytime, but nothing's actually changed. Stop with this haphazard plan and actually put together one that makes sense if that isn't too much to ask!

Canadians use immigrants as a way of life. The entire country runs on immigrant labor. However when an American moves to Canada, with advanced skills to bring to the table, we are treated like the Indian folks, so we just turn back around and go home.

I’m moving out few years agoes out of Canada and so happy indeed living in ?? so much freedom depending wich states you want to live freedom on money , health benefit , outdoors indoors activities etc…Canada it’s an empty country, empty land too cold and depress living and please check the population of Canada only worth one states (Texas)USA population. Canada only need immigrants to build their country and in terms of Govn professions their are very selective and it’s hard to get through if your immigrant unless your a scientist or engineers still yiu need to move to other parts of Canada to get hired . Hello everyone...I've been to Canada,  and back in South Africa,  a failed immigrant,I'm a finance professional.  The country is inviting thousands especially from the subcontinent so they bring and burn all their savings in Canada.  Its not about how hard it is or how quickly you can get into Canada. Its about what you will do there. There are simply not enough jobs for skilled educated workers  , its ok for meat cutters and other blue collar jobs who have nothing to lose,but not for qualified professionals.  It's a harsh,  unwelcoming country where Ex professionals from India end up driving taxis. My advice...if you are a professional degreed worker in India,  Please do NOT move to Canada unless you have a confirmed job offer or have done your research.  Do your math about salary vs. Living expenses. Good luck. Don't jump into a lake if you can't swim...

I feel it is irresponsible for governments to bring immigrants in without having a plan to house, and employ them in a sustainable position. I am Canadian and as much as I wish your experience was better, I completely understand why you feel as you do. I wish you peace, love and happiness wherever you land. They should have acted years ago but all the foreign money being brought in to the big cities has put them out of reach. That's only the tip of the iceberg. We need immigration but what numbers I'm not sure?? Maybe the answer is tradesmen to catch up on the building trades and bring costs down? The biggest problem though is the deficit financing leading to inflation. Like father like son...maybe the answer is think before you vote.

You can't even say this clown is disconnected. He had 6 years to address the situation and the fact that he stumbles trying to answer the question shows he has zero interest in solving the housing problem. How can you tell? Well, when you aim to bring in half a million immigrants every year to a country that already has a neglected housing problem for the existing young generation of Canadians that say it all. Each European country has its customs and values, it’s sad to see them fade away and be replaced, in my biased opinion, with more primitive cultures from the Middle East and Africa. Some practices these regions have are quite disgusting and disturbing. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all pro immigration, but I believe if you go to a better country, I say better because why else you would leave your country, then respect and incorporate that culture, don’t bring your garbage with you. I think you forgot to mention the expensive housing price in Canada! It's NOT what you see on the western movie where most people live in a nice big house. Unless you bring A LOT of money when you immigrate here, it's very difficult to buy a home with your salary, especially in Vancouver and Toronto area where there're more job opportunities.

I think if you were a doctor or a nurse in your old country and you immigrate to Canada you should be able to continue on in your medical field here in Canada without going through all the BS of exams. This is why we have a shortness of doctor's and nurses here in Canada because the frigging Government won't do anything about it. Except bring more and more refugees in to Canada and illegal migrants using up Canada's healthcare system that the Canadian taxpayers in Canada are force to pay for even though they have family members who are in dire need of medical attention, but the line up and wait time to see a specialist takes a lot of time. If a immigrant is coming to Canada and he or she is a doctor or a nurse and English is not their first language, well then put that immigrant person in an ESL class to learn English or a French learning class if that person is moving to Montreal or anywhere else in Quebec.

My grandparents immigrated from Italy and Ireland. They never got nice warm Canada Goose jackets, clothes, Nike shoes designer jeans, free English lessons or welfare. They paid there way, bought their land and found work LEGALLY, paid to learn English.\nThey did not steal unemployed Canadians jobs going through Trudeaus let’s hire out of the country so our government funds part of the wage. What we get are lousy heath care workers who barely understand or speak the English language and are caring for our Elderly and mistreating them. This I saw first had. I took my Mother home out of a senior home and cancelled home care as they never showed up on time. Would they leave there parent in a urine soaked brief for 5 hours as that is how late they were. I had to quit my job to take care of her. I myself am disabled with a spinal injure. The worst part of “Home Care workers” is that they wanted me to call in and cancel so they got paid. This statement gave from the Home Care nurse in charge of these immigrants working here. Seven of my friends, who are educated health care workers, which they themselves paid for, not paid my our government. They can’t get a job. The last job I applied for and they ask you status I put that I am a Canadian refugee in my own country. \nPretty sad when on Remembrance Day you have these woke individuals begging for money to help refugees. They should be ashamed of themselves for this disgusting action as this is a time to remember the men and women who fought for our freedom. Trudeau is a total embarrassment to all Canadians. Born and raised in BC. BC means bring cash. Everything cost more in BC. GOVERNMENTS are more greedy in BC as well. What's the use to come to Canada to start from scratch. If you can't do anything in your country you will have even lesser chances to do smh abroad. Everywhere you go, you bring yourself there. So, in other words, the immigration doesn't solve problems if you have any.

Canada immigration is worst in the world you cant even bring your wife and relative the land of broken dreams.

I will be leaving Canada within a year or so after declaring non-residency and bring my business with me. My view is that Canada is a good place to live a normal life. Healthcare covers your peace of mind, even if the waitlist is long and bureaucratic. Social benefit is not as generous as people suggest sometimes (at least in Canada unless you're on actual welfare where you can't work but you can't rise your way up easily and you're forever stuck in 1.5k CAD/month... which would be ofc much better than other struggling countries but immigrants often aspire for greater things than that. \n\nEven though I was an Asian immigrant, I never faced significant racism afaik (I could be socially naive however), but there are definitely limitations of opportunities. It's not too difficult to find entry to intermediate jobs, at least for me but that's probably because I did schooling here in Canada. And I was able to network aggressively and learned to be an extrovert, so that also helped. But still, Canadian living cost is high (and I'm saying this from Calgary... imagine what it's like in Vancouver/Toronto). Is it doable? Ofc. 50-70k CAD/year is quite doable ESPECIALLY in Calgary, Alberta. But it'd be difficult to achieve financial independence and true wealth. This is true everywhere ofc but more so in Canada compared to, say, USA where living cost is lower and wage is higher with more opportunities. It's a great place to live normally. If you wanna become exceptional (wealth, customized goods and services, etc), it become harder and costs more. \n\nEven now when I now own business after struggling to get here over 10 years that generates income that I need to achieve financial freedom, tax becomes frightfully bad. Alberta (that imposes lowest tax rate compared to other Canadian provinces (not including territories for obvious reason) is comparable to California in USA that is among the highest in all US states. And let's be real; Alberta is nowhere close of being California. Imagine the taxes in BC/Ontario shiver. \n\nOnce my tax rate becomes high enough to justify moving, I will pull the trigger. Still window-shopping where I wanna go and I have some lists but it's gonna happen especially as Canada will have to deal with their struggling economy, further distancing from US and their government mismanagement that continues to cost the society. I will not have any part in it. I may come back once in a while for visit or potentially retire depending on what the future looks like but right now, I just don't see my longterm future here.

a lot can be said about your narrative. you failed to mention the age of immigration. That alone is THE single most important factor on the out come of the exercise . anyone over 40 should not immigrate. second the education and skill set you bring will be a major factor in the out come. Third there is systemic racism after a certain level which one can feel in very job. i strongly believe one should come to Canada, get top quality education and skill, work with top quality people/organizations which should not be more than 5-6 years, then go back home. the long term price of immigration is huge. This country needs hands to work and pay taxes so that their show should go on. Local Brampton Mayors and Ontario gov never tried to put/invite some universities, hospitals and white collar jobs in Brampton, due to that Brampton became mostly bedroom community and all mix people started leaving city by seeing huge influx of South Asian population. Most people in Brampton are either truck driver, construction worker or labourer working in warehouse, while North-West part of Brampton is mostly young IT people working in Downtown or Mississuaga. I personally don’t know a single person who works in Brampton. But, still every Indian wants to live in Brampton just because of food & brown community. Now Brampton will become more brown and brown every year, just because there is no reason for other community to come and live in Brampton, no white collar jobs, not many hospitals or colleges or universty which can bring mix crowd. Brampton will be 100% south asian in next 10 years as most 50%+ new immigrants to Canada are from South Asia and every year 450000 new immigrants comes to Canada!

He is not an immigrant. He is claiming to be a refugee. One cannot be both an immigrant and a refugee. He attempted to game the system by first seeking refuge in the United States and then seeking refuge in Canada. A person cannot stop around until he finds a country that is willing to accept him. He is not willing to respect the rules by showing up for his hearing and moving his family from Alberta to British Columbia. I have no sympathy for the fact that he feels rejected by Canada. Why do these politicians bring immigrants to the country to create disharmony in the society?

It is so funny, I was working in Canada, BC for 3 years as highly paid employee, paying taxes > 200k/year and after I decided to apply to PR it took me more than a year to get PR and plenty of strange documents were requested to be provided until I hired immigration lawyer who drafted rather tough and harsh mail to IRCC on my behalf that they are violating my immigration law. Guess what? PR was approved in 2 days. On the flip side I know plenty of immigrants from Eastern Europe, China who are bringing their families with fake documents and receiving PR super easy, once settled they get income outside Canada in their country of origin (leasing an apartment for example) and of course not declaring it here, they specifically keep income at the level so they can get welfare/various reliefs from Canada and they bragging out loud how smart they are taking advantage of the system. That's not fair - there are a lot of skilled people around the world who can bring real value to Canada and behave in a good faith. If you go to Richmond, no one can speak English there, what kind of cultural integration is it? Lefts really like these guys, easy votes, eh?

Even if action was taken against the systemic racism against the blacks and natives not only would it still exist but there would still be significant racism towards immigrants and any other visible minority indeed that racism would be literally unchanged. The best we can hope for is to continually bring racism to light. The fight against racism never ends.

Peasants from El Salvador or Mexico need to learn English when entering the Queens realm. They shouldn’t be allowed in anyway, immigration should only be for educated people and wealth/ job creators and skilled people where the country is short.
