In the USA....you are on YOUR OWN when it comes to things like social issues and healthcare. Your so-called private insurance plans do not ALWAYS cover what YOU THINK they cover regarding healthcare. You could not pay me enough to ever move to the US from Toronto. My parents had MULTIPLE heart-related medical procedures in Ottawa that would have BANKRUPTED them if they were Americans. You are taken care of IMMEDIATELY if your life is in danger when it comes to healthcare. Americans never mention this. This actually happened to my 41-year old daughter. I moved to Canada from the US a few years ago. I lived in the US for over 30 year and the US government is a JOKE. Congress never got anything done regardless on what party is in office. If you're gay or trans I wouldn't move to the US because it's been very dangerous for that community especially in red states. The US still can't get better gun control to stop all of the mass school shootings yet and they think TikTok is the main threat right now. You can see where their priorities are. You can tell I moved to Canada due to political reasons lol Sure the cost of living in Canada are higher and I had to get adjusted to colder weather, but it was the best thing I ever did and I would NEVER move back to the US any time soon.

There is hardly any upward mobility in blue collar jobs, ever more so in the labor market. If they are not making $40K/year (assuming the majority has not a college degree in something marketable, advanced skills, a tradesman or artisan) then they’re struggling like everyone else in the service industry. Jobs for teenagers, entry level workers, part time jobseekers like for students, people needing extra income cause it’s so expensive in CA, NY, Austin, TX, Chicago or SF living off work entry-level service jobs. Technology has created a shortage or labor gap between unskilled jobs. Jobs that Americans need while pursuing training or technical degrees for the new skilled jobs. \n\nImmigrants do not need to fit the stereotypes of working in the service industry or as farm workers. American citizens can fill these labor positions quite easily. No, immigrants, work visa or not, do not work any harder, smarter, slower or faster than anyone else wanting to work. If someone is motivated to work an unskilled labor job then they will be just as effective as the next person. The HR for these companies definitely virtue signal and satisfy diversity quotas every time they hire someone due to their work status or ethnicity. Everyone and anyone can be replaced and so the question is, who do you, as an employer, want to replace the job vacancy with? Gonna hire cause they are a good fit or because your helping some politicians cause? Gonna grant asylum cause their lives are in danger from a government firing squad or because Biden/Harris will pat you on the back? \n\nThere is reason to illegally enter this country and it is disrespectful, disgraceful, dishonorable, dishonest and disheartening to the ones who are here legally by going through the process like everyone else paying time and money. Even Christopher Columbus paid to be here, no one handed him a free ticket to ‘paradise.’ The Mayflower patrons weren’t met with resistance by the indigenous community, they were harmonious. The asylum system is being abused. No country can sustain 2 million immigrants per year no matter how they come. Let them in and fly them directly home. If you're fleeing danger in Venezuela and you're in Mexico, you're no longer in danger. Especially when you've traveled through multiple countries. This is sadly the right decision. Asylum is a special status reserved for people in imminent danger, it shouldn't be confused with economic migration. The folks crossing through the US are already in a safe country, relatively speaking. We let in a million people legally last year and most end up in major cities that lack the infrastructure to fully support them and creates undue hardship for already struggling Canadians. We are a generous nation but migration has to be balanced with affordability and opportunity for locals. This is all absurd based on outdated models of economic growth. Tax the damn billionaires that hide money offshore and build capacity for all then we can help those in danger more but we have such issues with poverty, healthcare, education, roads,food affordability and a housing crisis. Time people put Canadians interests first.

I see the harm in that border crossing when Roxham road was open it was dangerous and illegal, I don't see why Migrant reports and Human rights groups are upset about the closure it's keeping the migrants safe and that law will not break in Canada, and I Immigrated here legally 41 years ago from Persecution in Somalia. The root problem is Colombia, which opened its borders, thus allowing thousands of Venezuelans to enter, increasing poverty, crime, women full of children, thugs, etc. Latin America is full of insecurity with this sending neighboring countries problems, these people are a very serious problem where the ONU does nothing, thanks to the ONU we are as we are in our countries, the United States should deport them to their country of origin there should be a a law that returns them to their country and that they send them the aid that they say they require so much, they are lazy criminal thieves, and of course a law that prohibits them from having children. Why do people want to try to live in the US? I will never understand. You will have a terrible quality of life unless you are rich, and even then, it's still a dangerous sh*thole where people are not even guaranteed basic human rights like health care.

It is far more dangerous. Unlike the southern border where it is warm and sunny most of the time, Canadian winters WILL KILL the unprepared, and with bad luck, even those who think they ARE prepared.
