I hearn an imam mention the other day a decade and a half ago hed walk down the street with his wife in a niqab and not a stare. Now that the likes of harper have instilled unecessary fear in people;s hearts bc as a politician people like harper know the general population is like sheep, the imam mentions that now he gets talked about walking around with his wife...same people that are minding their business in life but different world. I wish the worst for people like harper and bush etc....

Whatever you feel about the hijab or niqab or burqa or Islam in general, you do NOT have the right to enforce your opinion on minorities. Sorry. Majority cannot vote on minority rights, this is at the heart of a civilized society. If you are sick of being civilized and want to be more like Saudi Arabia, then go join ISIS.

hajib, niqab, burka... these are words i didn't necessarily ever wish to learn. Now, it seems, people who were welcomed into our country, who left theirs, are demanding recognition of what they have left behind. This mask is an effort to disguise what they really are. You do realize Islam is extremely diverse ,there are so many schools of thoughts and sects . Most of them are peaceful people and all the attention is on a very small amount that are extreme in ideology. Generalizing Muslims into one group is laughable as for Niqab I dont believe it is Islamic , my school of thought doesnt even believe Hijab or headcover is obligatory but that doesnt mean they should be stripped of citizenship and deserve to die ...I think thats extreme too. I think if people in the west can walk outside in a thong and bra or completely naked at gay festivals then whats the problem with wearing too much clothes...honestly I think as human beings you should be free to wear whatever you want.\n.

Being a Muslim woman must be very sad, in countries where Islam is the main religion they can't choose how to dress, they can't choose to have a career, they can chose who to marry, they can't choose their religion, and Islam also endorse husband to beat his wife if necessary. To the women who wear the niqab: do you really think that God is so stupid to judge you by what you wear??? God looks at your heart.\nThen, we can discuss about how much the US destabilised the middle east, but in general Islam doesn't fit well in a globalised world and created no social and economic development in the last 100 years. Islam is a vile, pernicious ideology that has considerably eroded the quality of life in all Western countries it has come in contact with. It has led to the mass rape of local children (think Britain and Australia), terrorism, and general disdain toward non-believers. At the very least, even if the majority of Muslims are moderate (and numerous polls have shown otherwise), they exhibit disproportionately high unemployment rates and are significant recipients of welfare relative to other groups, so I certainly do not see any economic rationale behind mass Muslim immigration either. We must stop importing Islam into our great nation before it is too late. I commend the few politicians who have had the common sense and audacity to speak out in this regard.

No idea should be held as sacred. We need to let people know religion is stupid. I had a good long talk with a Muslim girl about science, and how she is wrong and so is her dad, that the Quran has no science in it, and that it was a Catholic who made up the idea that it does.\n\nEducation is the key.
