I’m qualified Eastern European that was invited for a job in Switzerland. The high cost of living matches the high quality of life, which makes it worthwhile. From what I hear - it’s not exactly the same in Canada. It used to be considered a very desirable destination about a decade ago. \n\nIt’s sad to see Canada going in that direction. I lived in Western Europe, Japan and at the moment, Canada. I lucked out getting a well paying job in Vancouver when I moved back a few years ago and my average tax rate is actually the exact percentage you stated in the video - 28%, which includes income tax, pension and employment insurance. I'm actually doing better in terms of quality of life now but I do miss being able to travel around Europe for cheap. (e.g., quick train ride to Paris for the weekend) Now, I take cheap flights (e.g. Flair Airlines) to Mexico instead.\n\nJust to state some data points: when I was in Europe, I paid a total average of 39% income tax on a lower salary than I have right now in Canada. Things like utilities (e.g., gas/electricity), restaurants, certain grocery items and electronics (e.g., iphone/PS5/computers) were significantly more expensive because European VAT (inclusive) is usually 20%+. \n\nI don't have the exact numbers but on average I believe I was paying 70 - 90€ ($100 - 130 CAD) just for electricity each month for a small flat, but I am now paying $30 - 50 CAD for a decent sized 1 bedroom. I believe my housing gas bill was about the same or possibly a bit more. In addition, automobile gas prices were much higher (about $2€/L on average which is $2.90 CAD/L) and I think they could go even higher right now. \n\nHowever, rent is definitely more expensive in Vancouver, but I believe that is true for many West coast cities in North America. Right now I'm paying $2300 CAD a month for a 1BR, and I split that amount with my partner. In comparison, it would have been about €1300 ($1900 CAD) for something similar in the city where I was living previously. In a more expensive city (e.g. Amsterdam) a 1BR would easily cost €1800+ ($2650 CAD).\n\nFor me, the difficulty of making friends in my late 20's stays about the same. I'm sorry to hear that you wish to leave Canada. I understand the problem with winters. I think inflation is a world problem that you can not escape. I don't believe that the government is doing anything more than trying to be inclusive to all of the 'others' of our society but then I am an old man living in a very isolated place. My children were raised Muslim but not of the 5 prayers a day. My disappointment with the Canadian government's and opposition's stance regarding the genocide in Gaza is huge and it is the best reason you have given. Canada as with Germany in Namibia has its own problems living up to the genocides we have committed in the past. If you go to Malaysia I hope you become sensitive to the 'others' that live in that country.

I grew up in Toronto Canada. It is so sad to say but Canada needs to pivot because it is on a very negative trajectory. I finally had enough and the events that unfolded during the pandemic and where our current government is going made me make up my mind. I sold everything and moved to SE Asia. It's not paradise but my parents left their country to seek better and I'm doing the same.

You can't go wrong in Dubai. I'm a non Muslim living here and it's the safest country I've ever lived in (as well as Bahrain), wonderful community, so much to do...and oodles of sunshine! It's not all Dubai bling, there are beautiful mountains, deserts, beaches. We never want to leave!

As an American I am pleased that you've made this decision. Islamic values are TOTALLY incompatible with the West and I'm sure you'll be happy in any Muslim country. Muslims always had assimilation issues with the west and will continue to have, no matter how much a muslim tries to adjust to western values (which muslims actually don’t try anyways). Moved to Canada in 2017 and looking to leave in 2024. I was lucky to come here with a job and I’m making a six figure income even though I’m far from being successful. However, the problem with canada at the moment is even if you have a decent job and not too bad salary, you still can’t afford a home and the rent keeps going through the roof. Canada’s obsession with immigration is lazy and irresponsible. The politicians and elites see immigrants as cash cows and instead of creating companies that generate jobs and wealth, they speculate in the housing markets which are fuelled by immigrants. Immigration is not necessarily a bad thing but you do it with a plan, definitely not as radically as Canada did under the liberal government. The massive immigration only helps the rich, the already haves and the investors. Ask middle and lower classes how they feel about their life quality in Canada, do they really benefit from the immigration? They fight hard for jobs with minimum wages, pay for ridiculous rents, wait in the long line at the emergency rooms, get into bidding wars in the housing markets …. If you are not rich, simply don’t come to Canada. It’s not worth it unless you enjoy living from paycheck to paycheck and owning nothing.

Great decision. I would recommend moving to Turkey whether you want a busy and open minded city like istanbul or a quiet more reserved filled with nature city like Trabzon. When i go there, it feels like home, and i feel like i belong. I dunno how to explain. And as long as you have an outside income, you will be financially stable. I'm not muslim, but I've lived and worked in Saudi where Islam permeates every facet of life. I also lived in worked in Malaysia where Muslims make up the majority. Both countries have their advantages and disadvantages. As you have a Canadian passport you're more likely to get a better job in Saudi. No guarantee of that in Malaysia. \nI found the food better in Malaysia, but the food in Saudi is pretty darn good too. \nWinter in Saudi is very nice, at least where I lived in Khobar. However, it is brutally hot for 7-8 months a year. Malaysia is tropical, meaning its very warm to hot with high humidity and rain. \nI can't talk about other countries as I haven't that much experience. Wherever you go, best of luck.

I was born in North York in 1955. Used to be the cleanest city in North America. Beautiful, modern, safe. Now, I'll be blunt. to parrot a phrase from Trump, it's a SHITHOLE of a city. Nothing but condos, you can't even see the lake anymore. Every 6 months when I go downtown from Aurora there another 30 condos being built. Often owned by foreigners with lots of money, who buy up 3-5 units at a time. Parking and traffic are impossible. Green spaces like Allen Gardens are now owned by homeless, not the taxpayers. The government is a far left leaning one, which means let the whole world in, no matter if there are no services, driving up debts by increased spending, and resulting in a place only the very rich can now afford to buy a house or pay rent for a tiny crummy one bedroom unit. I even give up free Leaf tickets when I'm offered, it's just not worth the aggravation of traffic and tons of people. Good luck!!!

I'm not sure if you two speak well! You are not born Muslims, it seems to me. I haven't figured it all out yet. If you want to be great Muslims, you should go live in Islamic countries. And only then will you understand how much better the West is for living. I personally think it is best for you to move to Spain. I'm new to your channel, but you seem good people, and it's your full right to protect your kids from a school system that brainwashes children with the gender theory. The West is going down a road that many of us don't like, and moving is a recurring thought. As a Christian who has travelled extensively and also in Muslim countries, I can witness that I have always been very welcome, but I know that fitting in as an immigrant is difficult, if you don't have a family there. Probably, the UAE is the best option.

I share most of your thoughts but I'm having hard time with 2 things - 1 - We are going to a most Muslim country because of our 2 girls!!! 2 - There is a genocide in Palestine.

We live in Houston, Texas, where the culture is more conservative. Parents are not told how to raise their children, cost of living is still relatively good, and being Muslim (wife wears hijab) hasn't been as challenging as other places. \n\nPlenty of Muslims from all over, mosques, Islamic schools, halal food, etc too. \n\nMy parents moved my siblings and I from Los Angeles to Karachi, when I was 12. Not so much for religious reasons, more homesickness. After a miserable 15 yrs, I moved back to the US. \n\nI'm not trying to dissuade you guys. Wanted to share a few key things to help your transition:\n1. Pilot it out. Move to Istanbul for 6 months, then maybe Kuala Lumpur for another 6 months, etc. Test out each location. Inflation is everywhere. Not all Islamic countries are Islamic. But you have to experience it first hand. \n2. Take LOTS of money. A decent life outside the first world means you're loaded. \n3. Build connections where ever you go. The things we take for granted are luxuries elsewhere. Water, electricity, gas. Connections help you get what you need, sometimes for a price. \n4. Schools will be underwhelming. If you can homeschool, cool. \n5. If you start a business, go solo. Don't partner up with others. \n\nIn any case, hope it works out inshaAllah. Who knows, we may be neighbors!

I respect that your intentions are pure and you want the best for your children. I’m an Australian convert and have lived in Pakistan and Saudi also. There were positive and negative in all 3 of those places but by far feel that Australia is the best place to raise children. In Pakistan, twice while wearing full black abaya and hijab I had men try to grope me. I have a teen daughter and she enjoys certain levels of freedom here but I wouldn’t let her walk out of the house in Pakistan. Saudi was safer than Pakistan but had its own issues. You likely won’t agree with all the governmental decisions in any country you go to. I don’t agree with the government decisions of any of the 3 countries I mentioned above, if that’s a reason to leave a country then it’ll be a problem everywhere. Sorry it’s counter to your point but just sharing my experience. The grass isn’t greener. Oh and one other thing o noticed, in these countries your kids witness “Muslims” doing terrible things and it’s really difficult to explain.

This is a good example of what differentiates a Canadian from a person who holds Canadian citizenship. Not that you're wrong about the state of our morally bankrupt secular culture and government, but that's something that I'm going to fight against. I'm not going to run away, because this is my country that my ancestors spilled their blood for, and it's still worth fighting for, at least to me. I and every other Canadian have no other home to flee to. As far as Canada not being Muslim-friendly enough, why should it be. This is a Christian country founded on Christian morality and Christian-based law. I'm not an islamophobe, but I do believe that our cultures and people should remain separate, as they are quite alien to one another in many ways and there's no getting around that. I don't want my country becoming more Islamic just as you don't want your home country becoming more Christian.

I am not Muslim and I don't live in Canada so I can't completely understand your experience. I'm from a Hindu family and I relate to some of the things you guys have expressed, especially how you guys are worried about your children being raised in a certain environment and the sense of community. Especially, about the kids. America and Canada are scary at this moment. I heard that America is looking at allowing schools to help children to hide their decision regarding their gender etc., from their parents, and there is so much more being taught in schools that go against certain cultures and belief system but also it is now separating kids from their parents, creating walls. I also agree with you both that I don't hate or saying that others can't live the way they choose to live but when it is being imposed on your children then it's hard to live in that place. I wish you guys all the best, just wanted to say, I completely get you and bless your family. You have to do what is right for you and your children and you have to go where you are most comfortable and happy<3. We all are different and we all have our ways and we all deserve to be living in a place where we can be safe to continue our traditions and cultures, to help it live on, our children will carry that forward and it's important. I don't mean to hate but America seems to be morally collapsing and Canada follows America and so does England (it's where I am living). It's scary. Hard. For some of us to survive in a certain environment. It's not for everyone you know.

It's obvious that you have never lived outside of Canada. Canada is probably one of the last countries in the world that accepts people for who they are and has a decent level of respect for belief systems. I get that you want to raise your children in a better environment, but trust me when I tell you this... you are walking into a world of disappointment. Canada itself is about 15 years behind other countries when it comes to this downwards spiral you are speaking of. Sadly, you will find out soon enough that this utopia you want to find, simply doesn't exist and you will discover you have left the variable comforts and safety of Canada behind. I'm not trying to burst your bubble, but am simply sharing what I discovered when I searched for the same things. I think L. Frank Baum said it best.... if I ever go looking for my heart's desire again, I won't look any further than my own back yard. I'm glad i took the decision to not to go to Canada for my education. USA is stricter but that has its advantages.

I want to give a different perspective. I'm from Singapore. My entire family was here and they have moved back. My sister moved back first because my British brother in law could not take the cold. My brother moved back because he wanted to make money and be rich. My parents moved back to be close to their grandkids. But no way will I move back. Constant heat strokes from the weather, materialistic and shallow people, preference given to married people and families, lack of hinterland and nature, lack of winter sports, and poor LGBTQ+ rights. I have not lived in Singapore since I was 18 and I am also childfree, with no intention of raising a family, only travel locally, and am not into the acquisition of commercial goods for gratification. I love going on roadtrips and skiing every winter and playing hockey year round. I like that I can marry who I love here and can acquire a home without needing to be married. I understand how people who want to make money and raise families would see the brighter side of other countries, but Canada, despite its flaws, is my brighter side.
