Canada is built on false promises to lure in immigrants to have them work for cheaper while ignoring it's own citizens. Treadeu doesn't care about his job and only uses it now to take tax payers money and fund his lavish lifestyle he's a rich egotistical douche that will only ever operate in his best interest and will lie and say what he has to for people to believe him he doesn't care about Canada or it's people only about keeping himself wealthy off tax payers dollars. If there was more of an effort on infrastructure and technology Canada could have been similarly valued to the states but treadeu ruined all major relationships and is a laughing stock globally it's very clear no world leader even respects the guy and hurts canadas trading potential massively along with how we're viewed. Canada tried way to hard to be it's own thing and different which also helped shoot the country in the foot. The government is extremely corrupt outright denys separate parties from speaking, underhanded tactics to win elections, control over media. Canada is a first world country but a declining one at that and if something doesn't change it will easily become an impoverished country where we will only be used to have our resourced sucked dry and sold to other countries to profit off while the elite remain powerful in Canada. Canada is seriously wasted potential. Canada should have high speed rails that connect the major cities but doesn't, we don't have actually good energy infrastructure due to projects being abandoned under trudeau that would bring a lot of money back. I used to love this country but as it is now I despise it because it's become crushing to live here as a bachelor making 32k and renting

Why don't you make your schools limit the class size and become strict on accepting overwhemling number of applications. If you just control students flow through immigration, thousands of students would just lose so much money on reserving the seat (which are partially non-refundable), visa and insurance application fees.

It seems like one of the only viable ways to make money was to work in the city and commute from the surrounding area which is hours of your life wasted and not spent working or making money. \n\nBut even this is no longer as good of a plan because of thr housing crisis. Expensive rent and house prices in big cities like Toronto made a lot of people move out and the rents have risen in the surrounding area where there is less high paying jobs.

SHAME on the canadian government for putting the focus on international students!!! Done because they can blame the provincial governments and make people ignore that they changed visas to mexico, changed the refugee claimant laws, and increased exponentially the number of people entering and then waiting for a hearing on the asylum claim. As a landlord, here's the difference between international students and migrants: One has money and pays me rent monthly on time, while the other one sleeps in the park, or somewhere else, PAID by the government. The issue aren't the people entering and giving us their money, it's the new huge welfare class called migrants that is draining the system.

We can't house them. \n\nWHY IS THAT OUR RESPONSIBILITY? Why do we have to provide for them? They aren't citizens. They aren't permanent residents. This present government makeing great mistake to bring huge amount of international students specially from south Asian poor country Reuther then rich country. More than 25% disappeared from the institute other 35 to 40 %study on line without attending in institute start looking job to manage their expenses and tuition fee and sending money to their parents in back home. Government need to thing very carefully to stop this type loophole before bringing international students in this country. This is malticultureal country bringing from all over world as a same ratio not specific few countries. Students work permit must be stop on mater any argument or requist ,questions . Canada doesn't make any net foreign money from international students. The money that Ottawa thinks is generating ....is Canadian money being paid from the jobs international students do. Any money that comes from outside of Canada is later reemitted back to the foreign country as most international students take a loan and later pay back that loan from Canadian earned money ...

I think one solution to the international student housing crisis that can alleviate its effect on the broader housing crisis is to mandate that the school build dorms for international students. Fanshawe College for example has like 2 or 3 dorm buildings, but like 80 percent of its students are international. So if that school or any other wants to bring in that many international students, and charge them 8 X what we pay then make the schools use that money to build dorms for the students. \n\nEither the schools will build th the dorms, and the problem will be alleviated, or the school that don't want to build or purchase student housing will have to stop bringing in more students than they can house.

A lot of these international students are just here to get a Canadian passport and then they leave Canada for other countries such as the US where they can make more money.

I remember canada immigration has a certain standard and requirements. There were different immigration program such as family class business class. When it comes to student visa graduates studies were offered on funding and scholarships.recently we can see number of high school graduates to attend community College. Canadian takes grant student loan to start any program in college and universities imagine international students from developing countries where the tuition fee is almost double I don't understand the screening process of students. It has benefited to consultants and has ruin canada reputation. There are number of videos in tiktok and YouTube of people making v blog on leaving canada. I feel sad. Canada is a beautiful country but the greed of money has completely ruin the reputation.

I lived in Canada for over 20 long suffering cold years. My rent in 1982 in Kamloops for a large two bedroom appartment was 105 bucks a month. Then when I moved back to Toronto and got an apartment right on Young at Grosvenor our rent shot up to a tough 620 bucks a month (all utilities included) but I was making a lot of money so it seemed like the good life. I wonder how expensive that luxury high rise is today? Probably about $4500 per month would be my guess. Canadians don't like to talk of the negatives in Toronto, but I feel really sorry for some of my family still there. My mother in law broke her back. All they could do is give her pain killers for the four months before she could get penciled in for surgery. And that was before it all went to hell. It's nice to see so many shots of places that were once so much a part of my life, but in all honesty moving to the States was the best thing I ever did. It was in fact like an escape from madness. Now similar crazyness is here, even on the South East coast of the US. Time to look for another escape. Any suggestions?\nOh, and my friends cousin got murdered in the Jane and Finch area years ago. International students are stealing your kids opportunites for education recourses .\nThe schools make all the money and you subsidise them.

Immigration (especially the student visa back door) has become a lucrative business for a few people (colleges, ESL schools, universities, construction companies, realtors, etc) without thinking about the impact on all the most basic needs for Canadians. There have been record numbers of immigrants, but where are the record numbers in new housing, new hospitals, new nurses, new doctors, etc? Obviously, this is a good business for construction companies and realtors because they can maintain high prices forever and keep making money on the Canadian dream. It is time for the Canadian government, whether liberal or conservative, to stop this nonsense until the coverage of the basic needs of Canadians are covered.

Yes. Have you ever realized that raising your kids now means having money throughout their entire lives, even after their university or college degree? There are too many immigrants taking literally every entry level job and making it their career's. You have no future with a low income household unless you want your kids to do questionable things to earn money.

This a new racket that is maybe about 7-8 years old or more when I first started noticing it. Asked a student who named a college I had never heard of and now we see numbers like 40K in one institution. Obviously all the folks involved are making money and the comments here summarize the effects of this phenomenon ? Hilarious but then Canada cannot attract first rate talent. Some of them come , right after grade 12 only one thing in their mind to get immigration! Most of them come to get same degree management or hospitality managing hotels ! These degrees don’t get them anywhere ! They all want live Vancouver Toronto no one wants to go to Manitoba Saskatchewan and up North ! People open up private colleges,have little room to teach them on line classes ! Money grab ! No one give them right information before they leave their country! We got not many skill student only business digress! Student from Indian love to get their PAR ! It cost them too much money to get here, but then they have to work hard to pay for their fees , or they have to buy work permit , it cost 35 to 50 thouesd to buy work permit as long as they work for same people for two year, not making that much money ! Life becomes hard !

Why don't these schools making record profits use some of that money to build student housing. Then they can just make more money off the students and help the housing crisis.

It is a money making venture by Fed Govt. It's insane. And why are there so many Indians coming in as students.

[ Coming from a student ] - Nobody is to Blame beside THE GOVERNMENT! They mislead many international students to come here without even checking if the Colleges exist! They just kept giving visas to many students and when students reach here then they realize they made a big mistake especially after looking at the present bad economy and giving the tuition money to these money grabbers (GOVERNMENT AND COLLEGES). And to make it worse you have to pay 10k to the banks before coming which is now 20k and then the students pay 3 times the money compared to Canadian students, Which to pay-off, a lot of these students do all kind of jobs for so many hours a weeks just to pay the fees and their living bills. Hence, the reason for them not able to focus on their studies properly, less work for other folks and every other things which is effected. As a Student I was financially fine which was the main reason for my pretty much smooth journey here but not everyone has the same backups. I feel really bad for the students and hope this money grabbing madness stops and the immigration for at least 3- 4 years.....

It's all about the money. The schools kinda need them for that reason alone cause the locals just cannot make these schools economically feasible. From the POV of those students, they are taking a chance of getting a PR hopefully. As visas for studying is easier to obtain vs say other forms of visa like investment or to have a local company sponsor you for work...

Real international students are not harming economic and housing, those look like students and coming here to work and make money and we see them everywhere are hurting the system. Publish the numbers of students from all countries to understand better.

Easy answer: no. I'm an immigrant, and here's the problem with this. You are removing the spots that citizen students would have for those spots, especially in higher academic learning positions. When you care more about money from an international student, and make the local students suffer, you're in the wrong.

I find it hard to believe that Canadas schools are so good that students line up to attend. Sounds like a money making scheme. The degrees and diplomas aren’t worth the paper they are written on.

Canadian collages did not had money 10 to 12 years ago to keep courses alive and pay professors without increasing tuition on Canadian born kids. so they charge international student double fee and makes millions of dollars. some of the courses had no value. still students are joining and coming here to get legal Permanent residence. It is multi million dollars business.

I think Canada needs waaay more international students for real. Maybe something could be set up that they also build into housing as well some kind of newER 2024 program that is weaved into housing to help them get place to stay and also to build for them self and after school projects or like flow and around sharing renting and working making money whole studying. Canada is definitely smart enough to realize that they can set something up for international students to make things work on all levels.

Canada is a country that is built on middle class where a large part of the population are within the same earning range. There are positives to this, less crime, there is not a huge disparity between rich and poor which makes for a more sane environment don’t get me wrong, we still have our crime rate. Now you can see that the professional programs are limited compared to other countries in the universities and highly competitive so that you don’t have so many professionals with high earning power thereby creating a huge disparity. On the other hand, these high earners don’t get a tax return, get any govt cheque, their kids don’t get huge amounts for OSAP instead, they get billed to pay back the govt and that’s how those of you complaining now where able to get govt cheques when you just relocated, support low income homes and newly landed immigrants. There’s free health, good Ammenities, snow is cleared, the roads are salted and de iced, free Education, govt loans and school loans that’s where your tax money goes to. Everyone has an accent that’s your identity why will you feel somehow or intimidated when you are told you have an accent that’s being timid say yes I have an accent it’s African or Caribbean etc. About racism it’s rare never experienced it that’s not saying it doesn’t happen but am gonna call you out if it’s obvious I have been profiled. Yes the weather is harsh did you not look at your map before relocating ?? In all most of these complaints are individual experiences so I won’t invalidate it but don’t trash what you gained from. Retraining and certification is a must especially when you are coming from a certain country and it’s not a bad idea. Am in healthcare and retraining is a must if you didn’t school here cos it’s entirely different talk about work ethics, equipments, software, differentiation in policies, health laws and malpractice laws.\nLook at the brighter side of life and stop complaining migration has its pros and cons position yourself in a place to have a good life, go back to school, get certified, keep retraining and adding value to your certificate.

Every place has its positives and negatives. Canada is beautiful, clean and green. The people are polite and friendly at a superficial level and the infrastructure is great. But for a new immigrant it's very difficult to make new social contacts or even to get a good job. The cost of living is high and housing costs are exhorbitant. The medical system is terrible with people having to wait weeks to meet a specialist \n\n Indian cities are mostly dirty, polluted and chaotic with poor infrastructure. There is rampant corruption and people can be rude and obnoxious especially while driving. But you can get help for everything and living costs are affordable. Plus the social contacts ..family and friends around are priceless. The medical system is way better provided you have some money.

America is still the best country for jobs, career mobility and to make money. We are not perfect, but we are much better than any other country on the planet.
