However, it is sorely lacking in the necessary infrastructure investment and many of the more Woke political decisions compound this with how the tax dollars get utilised on virtue-signalling for the Politicos, instead of driving steady grass-roots investment into the education and building out the infrastructure and driving the expansion of the economy. Sadly, the Woke government has moved from an almost clear balance sheet to having stacked up an incredibly high national debt mountain which now eats up most tax dollars just to service and will take GENERATIONS to repay.... the grandchildren of Canadians today will not see this repaid and there is NOTHING to show for it except keeping the Woke politicos smug in their beliefs. \nOf course, I am gone..... They want to protest but refuse to be interviewed to share their views on what's happening and why they need to leave. If you're there to protest and fight for your rights, it makes sense to take advantage of the interview and clearly express what you're fighting for. Ignoring someone who wants to understand your perspective suggests you may have an attitude problem. This could be the reason you're being targeted—because you're unwilling to do something as simple as explaining what you're standing up for. Kudos to the only man who accepted the interview, even while someone was trying to take the mic away from him. In the end, I hope they can find a solution for both our Canadian and Indian brothers and sisters, and that their countries will prosper again, creating more opportunities for them.

Glad this is happening! First, because the govt. should put their citizens & their heritage as top priority. Secondly, because permit to study doesn’t mean permit to permanently settle down. Don’t use words like racism during protests. That’s not racism. I have been in IT Security for more than 6 years now. I was working remotely for a US based company and earning in US dollars in TURKEY. Applied and got accepted to a German company because I didnt like remote work anymore. This was 3 months ago and I am still waiting for my visa appointment date. Left a lucrative job to go to Germany for a half of my past salary. That’s my stupidity. No answers from German embassy in Turkey. We are just told to wait. They are clearly telling us we don’t need you here. Waiting 3 months just for a visa appointment without any answers is crazy. I am already applying to other jobs. I guess they have enough Turks there hahah :D

Well, if international students and the 7:1 ratio of fee structure is the main source of survival for these universities and colleges then its a clear indication that these universities and colleges are on ventilators. It would be better to manage and find ways of self reliance without the dependency on international students or shut them down.

Isn't this CLEAR EVIDENCE that a significant number of international students only come for work and immigration and not for education? I'm not saying they are doing anything wrong; people will do whatever based on the incentives available to them. Work and an eventual Canadian passport are just too good a deal to pass up for many international students.

Personally I don’t care if they have problems. They can take pay cuts or shut down if the business model doesn’t work. We can’t let these institutions damage communities by flooding them with people that they can’t house and are taking housing from working Canadians. These are the people the universities depend on to keep the lights on, the water flowing, the streets cleared and many many other things. Price them out of the housing market and they will go elsewhere and when the university needs a tradesman they won’t be able to get one. With the lights out and the pipes plugged the place won’t appeal to any students and they will go home.

This is a clear tell sign that post-secondary education is only attractive in Canada, because of the possibility of working or becoming a permanent resident. Once word got out that there could be changes and restrictions, students immediately became uninterested.

They should all be sent back for being there, Canadians have the right to protest and these are not Canadians, they have temporary SINs starting with a 9 and we can blame the public and private colleges for pushing them in to up their enrolment. They should be protesting at Conestoga and Loyalist as to why they had full time recruiters sent to India with no legal background promising a fast track to PR. I work in HR and have been saying for 7 years that these intl students being pumped in to take a BS program at a college to fast track a PR are a joke and now finally people are waking up. Also, communication wise, how can these people graduate when they can’t communicate in English clearly and misunderstand basic questions, another thinker.

Do you really think these crooks look like students who are here to study? What a joke. They are fraudsters, criminals, and hooligans who have found a super easy way to gain access to overseas countries like Canada, Australia, the UK, etc. through student visa, work permits, or refugees. They have destroyed the peace and harmony of the country. These crooks have no respect and social values and lack basic knowledge as to how they should behave in a civilized society. Just a point of clarification. Are you confusing Immigrants to Temporary Foreign Workers and International Students? Those 70,000 you mentioned are not immigrants. They have temporary visas and are not guaranteed immigrant status. Please clarify because you're not being clear. Thank you.
