I hate Quebec. I felt very unaccepted by the people who live there. I would go into restaurants and gas stations and when I didn't speak French the workers would speak very aggressive and disrespectful. I try to avoid Quebec whenever possible. Not to mention the drivers are terrible. Overall I would probably move to Alberta, since Ontario house prices are high.

Everything about Quebec is true but the hard core French people and the Provincial Government make it the worst Canadian Province because of their attitude to the rest of Canada! I once took a trip there and asked someone for directions; because I didn't speak French they started yelling and swearing at me in French and walked off. Everything there is in French yet the rest of the country is bilingual, why do they not need to be bilingual as well?

Rating provinces as a whole is really stupid, that’s be like rating the U.S while it contains both Texas and New York. Yes that’s how big Canadian provinces are, the super northern and the super southern, As well as east and west. have a completely different culture, attitude and accent. And sometimes even speak a different language. Yes contrary to what foreigners may think Quebec is not the only province with French speaking populations, as well there are some English speaking populations in Quebec.

After Being an Employer for 25 years. I tried making reference calls to home countries. Most of the time it was time zone opportunities or they didn’t speak English or French. That was fun to watch. some surprises...It's a great country...I moved to Quebec six years ago from Ontario and think it's a great place. French Canadians are such charming people. I feel like where I am in Gatineau is such a well kept secret that we discovered to our surprise when our daughter moved to Hull...

Quebec is far from being the best province in Canada. Montreal is great but their is a disconnect with the rest of the province. The biggest export of Quebec is young people. Once they graduate from University they leave as the job opportunities are in Ontario and western Canada. The Quebec pension plan now pays out more than it takes in. The academics and politicians are hell bent to push the ‘vive la Quebec and French Uber alles’ that it turns off business and industry. An example is the pharmaceutical industry was all headquartered at one time in Quebec and it moved out to Ontario. The personal income tax rates are higher than most provinces and health care is not the best either.

Quebec if you want to freeze your ass off in Winter and boil in Summer because of the humidity. Montreal is a great cosmopolitan, diverse city. But as the man said, better learn the Quebec version of the french language. It is a very sensative subject.

What was the point of this…\nBOOK?\n\nMy favourite provinces (not ranking) are Ontario, Alberta, BC, Quebec, and Nova Scotia. \n\nOntario for the history, the world records, *(longest street on earth at least at one point, tallest tower in North America, Toronto most multicultural city, etc.)* and the terrain/coolness of Ontario- the big cities, surprisingly safe, the good weather some places, the icy terrain near Hudson Bay, and pretty nice forests.\n\nAlberta for the coolness aswell, the big cities Calgary and Edmonton are pretty great, and the mountains are awesome, the oil is useful, the lakes are great- and yeah the great, safe place to live overall.\n\nBC for the amazing mountains too, the islands, Vancouver is SO amazing just seeing a picture of it, its unique that a big city is spread across so many islands, and the pacific- \n? oh I do like to be beside the sea side ? \nAnd BC has great forests like Ontario. Just- take in mind that it’s the only province with grizzly bears. (Alberta might idk)\n\nQuebec for the history, (all the history is in Quebec City)\nAnd the great terrain, it looks amazing- they have a lot of Great Lakes (wait Ontario has more, in fact all of those) and even just it’s one big city, Montreal. Stuff Americans do or have that is totally different from Canadians. \n1. Americans put their macaroni & cheese in the oven, Canadians just cook it over the stove in a pot and stir in the seasoning after \n2. Americans have access to some of the best shopping malls in the world, Canada has to basically get everything shipped from there at extra cost.\n6. Wrong!!! Quebec has the highest rate of fraud next to Africa. Not a great school system. As for speaking C. French... 78% of Quebecers can't speak English... maybe they should learn English. Quebec is also the only province to have had an active local terrorist organization. And if you're learning French, or speak proper France French you'll have to contend with people treating you like shit.

In some cases, I was victim of racism here in Canada and this is what I just did: I speak in French instead to the aggressor; I have done that many times and usually it works; if it is like this indirect form of racism (much more frequent) where a “local” or even sometimes some Immigrants try to look down in me, I just called a friend of mine (who is usually free) and start to chat loudly in french with him!! And believe it or not, my French accent is 99% close to perfection although I do not look like a white French guy… but see… this is exactly why it is very amusing as you can barely imagine how most people act by seeing me talking in French!! Just say something like “… je reste pour une année en plus ici au Canada (make sure you say Canada to attract their attention) Et après je bouge sur Paris….”

I disagree about Quebec being #1 province in Canada. Main reason is the language barrier. If you are just driving through it to get to the east coast,, beware,, when you stop for gas, or anything, Quebec people will try to speak ONLY French and give English speaking people a difficult time

Hi girls and thank you I thought about going to Canada but now no desire to struggle life is so precious been living in the state now in Paris France a country I hate so iam not happy here now that my American French daughter is 20, I don't think moving to America is good life over there is not of good quality and is based upon materialism and money only and physical appearance like if you are not pretty enough tall blond enough with cash you would feel like an outcast. So where can I live between sea and mountains eat sea urchin crabs sardines all day and make money and avoid dust smell and pollution I also lived shortly in India and its not fresh trust me and the USA is country of serial killers so where could I go now to age gracefully live well
