Higher taxes means we can take care of the less fortunate and.....I can get an operation whenever I need one and it won't take my life savings to pay for it.\nMinimum wage here is much higher than in the US, so if u think having fun is better over there.....go c for yourself......as well has any kind of healthcare and medication.... nevermind when u have to c a Dr and u pay almost nothing.\nExactly what kind of fun r u missing out on living here??? I was born in canada (Montréal ) and never left this country. I thought about maybe moving to Nigeria or Brésil one day. But I’m way too comfortable living here. This country is awesome. \n\nI think that those 2 woman are just boring period. They probably stay at home and do nothing. \n\nTheir is so much to do in Montréal .\n\nYou got endless festivals during the summer, outdoor activities during the winter. You have to try new things, \n\nTry skiing during the winter. Do some yoga. Learn about other cultures, salsa, meringue class. \n\nWhen you have a regular 9 to 5 you will work hard and have little to enjoy specially if you have kids.\n\nPeople usually enjoy their selves doing activities with their kids. \n\nThese woman look like they stay at home doing absolutely nothing. True, lived there for 4 years. Canada is a well made lie to make someone else rich. I even met a rich immigrant who basically became rich because I'm sure he was doing money laundry. Also, Canadian politeness is a fake way to uncover how they actually don't care about another person; they are not nice people . Being there also made me think about this whole immigration system, it felt like a neo-slave trade, because immigration is such a gray area, and we basically have no rights to anything whatsoever, being open to be easily exploited. I'm listening to hear how Canada is not a desirable place to live, bc I have thought it would be a better alternative to the USA. But it still sounds better than life in the USA, if even just slightly. ?\nSo far, I hear 30% taxes on income (which is same in the USA).\nYou have free healthcare, however you have to wait in emergency room for 8 hours.....we DON'T have free healthcare....and guess what? $450+ later, we have still waited 4-10 hours in the ER. \nHere in the USA, our cost of living is insanely high compared to a single and even a double income. Our lowest rent is $1,200 to live in low income surroundings. A rent around $1,800/month will bring you to nicer surroundings in an apartment, but still surrounding areas have crime. \nFood costs are so high, Gas is so high. We haven't bought new clothes for ourselves in YEARS, only for our kids. \nDaycare is $485-500 month per child, even before and after school care. \nHealth insurance averages $145/per person per month, not to mention car insurance which is required to drive. \nSegregation has improved here but is ever being integrated back into our society as racism is kept very alive, even as they constantly teach it in the schools. They say it's to teach history but I believe it is just reinforcing racist ways and thinking patterns. \nI don't blame anyone for wanting to return to the comfort of their own people, language and living and country. \nYou may have us with the cold/hot weather in Canada! \nI didn't know about the Canadian passport being so opportunistic for travelling. That's cool ? \nAs far as desired profession, there are many doctors and teachers that come here to the USA from other countries and are now working as a clerk in the dollar stores here in the US. \nAnd forget work life balance here too. Cost of living here causes so much disruption in our family life. Debt is revolving.\nMy fiance's mother comes from a country in West Africa. She longs to return. She calls the USA a place you come to be a work rat. \nBesides free healthcare, it sounds like USA and Canada are similar. \nOne thing I've heard about Canada is that the government cares about kindness, as well as the banks. I hear that people are generally more courteous in Canada than they are here in the US.

wow you 2 ungrateful are complaining about 30 to 40% taxes, well why do you think third world countries are at at point they are? people are poor because they lack economic opportunities, good schools, teachers, new way of teaching the kids that they haven't even heard in the countries you were born in, the overall lack of corruption, when anytime you have to deal with any kind of public official for any kind of permit that might need, well build infrastructures, good public Universities, and a decent healthcare system, an independent well functioning judiciary system that is far less corrupted than the countries you were born at............ You 2 are delusional, in the south of USA they don't tax that much, you should see how the Blacks are treated, 2 months that the city of Jackson in Mississippi has no running water, I recommend you 2 to move there, and enjoy the low taxes.... BY the way look as well at the mortality rates for all the Child births in the south, and life expectancy rates.... And trust me I am an immigrant myself, so I know that people are not working as much as here in North America, but or you inherited your house from a family member or you are living in their homes, in that case yes you can sit and do nothing, and if you find a job you will get paid a few hundred dollars per month........ Try to put food on the table with that salary, even in lower cost countries... trust me they struggle 3 times as I do here in North America...

In as much I understand what you’re saying, don’t you think it’s 100 times better compared to life in Nigeria. Your kids will have free education, healthcare is free as well. Paying for those in Nigeria is way worse than spending 40% of your yearly income. \nMost parents in Nigeria, spend their entire earnings on mostly schools fees and healthcare, I’m a mom of 4 plus 1 dependent and I know what we go through to pay school fees termly. We also pay taxes and the government extort citizens, yet we don’t enjoy any benefits from the government. We enjoy nothing , from healthcare, school fees, good roads, electricity, security, even school (shebi ASUU has been on strike for almost 8months now) infact nothing at all from the government.\n\nSo this reasons aren’t valid in my opinion, because Nigeria is currently a hell hole. If anyone feels this way about the country where he/ she is an immigrant, going home is always an option or moving to another country. It’s really that simple.?

This is the same situation here in the US, I don’t think the government is trying to take wealth from people unnecessarily. Belgium has one of the highest income tax cap of 57.8%. It is just the way the Western systems are. The best thing to do is to make sure before you immigrate you plan to go into a high paying field. That’s how you create a good stream of income and stay in middle to upper class of society.

And if you really want a little Canadian treat go visit a serious British Columbia it has all four ecosystems in it I think it's the only place in Canada that has that at least it did when we used to stop there for lunch on our way to Vancouver maybe with climate change and everything that's gone too who knows but yeah the healthcare sucks I worked in the field got out of that field and now I'm very sick and need help and guess what no doctor I have no doctor and no doctor will listen so you guys are absolutely right if I had a way and the means and the money I'd be gone

I do have to say if you're actually worried about the cold as a factor in moving to Canada it is way less than you think. In Southern Ontario it gets to be -40C about 3-4 times a winter, and in the summer it gets to 40C 3-4 times a summer, so we have pretty diverse weather, what you should worry about is how many different kinds of clothes you'll need to buy to actually go through the four seasons.\n\nJust a quick note on Quebéc, even if you did learn french you will most likely be yelled at in french as they are for the most part very protective of french Canada and see themselves as a different country, they don't like other people very much, and the french is different to french french. Cool place to visit but not so much to live in.

I'm English and I've been listening to the same questions being answered (the same way) by our own Pime Ministers for the past 25 years... which is very odd when you think about it. We;re a tiny island with 70 million population, yet 90% of our land hasn't been built on, so you have to ask... is a housing shortage being engineered in the developed west? And how many of our our politicians are also private landlords??

Excellent video! Agree! I am Canadian born but some of these points I can even relate to, especially how hard they make it to accumulate wealth. We are taxed to death - our income is taxed and then we are taxed again when we buy goods. It seems like they do everything they can to prevent wealth building. The retirement saving plan….is even a rip off when you consider you give your money to the government to get a reduced value years later after inflation…..almost feels like I’m a slave and the kings and queens have just put on suit and ties. I think higher officials in government are way over paid…securing ridiculous pensions and getting huge raises on tax payer money.

Everything you have said resonates with a lot of people who live in many different countries around the world. That's because your observations make sense. Only thing, though, is that your reflections harken back to the beginning of time. People have always struggled to survive regardless of where they happened to live on planet earth. Life is tough. I do not mean to dismiss your concerns, but let's think about how our ancestors lived two, three, or more generations ago (or even centuries ago). We probably have it much better than they did. As you know, there isn't a perfect place to live. But, yes, by all means look for places where you'll likely find the lifestyle you want. Absolutely! What I have found is that you'll experience a lot of trade offs. For instance, instead of having to deal with cold, rainy weather, you can find a warm and sunny place, but there will be a constant threat of earthquakes or wild fires. Again, keep looking for that special place, and maybe that process, the process of dreaming and seeking, will be a way of experiencing your paradise (vicariously) -- as dreams can provide things that we can only hope for in reality. In any case, I wish you well!

I don't know people just like traveling and living where they find a suitable lifestyle. I think the main reason people complain so much about racism in the USA is because of the media and very small percentage of people complain to other people world wide, overall the entire people of America have people from the entire world and people look bad on any group who says things like white this black that when talking in a bad way and not addressing there own color of people like themselves. Canada business system prefers the big franchises businesses that have millions of dollars. If you have a small shop or restaurant get beaten by the big corporations that has franchises. the food costs are high and when selling u just cant sell for a better profit that can actually make you money. The Chinese and Indians knows how to sell little many items at a low cost just to be on a very tinny profitable way to keep on going. The Multi big paying makes money in Canada not the small business immigrants come and create. Those business don't built wealth because the big corporations are pushed by the Gov more in creating jobs and paying the big corporate taxes that in turn the taxes help support the social programs for those that cant work and also providing the basic needs to those that needs it through the taxes paid. In many African states many of the individual business that strife and create wealth because there isn't too much huge corporations that competes with this small business like the first world nations. In SA for example we have seen an explosion of many migrants going there creating small business and striving better than they will be in Canada. The taxes are high in Canada that's true u cant be rich sorry u will work until you lose your hair f not your hair turns white in a very short time due to too much stress and worries. Canada is good for social programs it takes care off those that don't' work if you work forget about getting rich but supporting those that don't work through the allocated taxes. Canada and the first world nations supports Big corporation and Franchising not really a fan of small business even when they are here they just don't create huge profits to think they will make it. In fact when the economy falls those shops easily shut down entirely and when they do reopen they barely make profits. I have seen Nigerian, Ghanaian small shops with Ethiopian and Jamaican business.

I don't think higher tax rate is a good point when you compare it to a country like Nigeria. The maximum tax rate you can pay in Nigeria is 24% and it begins from anything from 5.6 million naira per annum. After paying that tax you pay for the school fees of your children, and you pay that 3 times every year, Asides school fees you buy generator and fuel it everyday to get something close to constant power supply. (I don't want to include healthcare because if you have a good HMO they will sort out that perfectly well)\nSome of us still pay security due if you live in an estate. \n\nThe point I am trying to make is that if your tax rate is high let's say to up to 50% and you are sure of the quality of education your children is getting in public schools so you don't have to pay for school fees, You don't have to buy generator and fuel it because there's constant electricity supply and there's good security so you don't have to pay for private security. You might realized that tax rate in Canada is effectively cheaper than here in Nigeria. Because you will still pay for school fees, generator and maintenance and private security and all these have a way of eating deep into your income.

I'm American born of Haitian descent and I think these type of videos are annoying. I find that Africans/Nigerians love to country hop while adding little to nothing in the way of cultural and social betterment in their temporarily adopted countries. When I travel it's out of a genuine love of travel versus constant economic movement. Stop expecting that one country is going to give you everything that you're looking for. There are pros and cons to living anywhere. Happiness and fulfillment comes from within self and not always geographical borders.

Let's not forget Quebec gets over $13 billion a year from Alberta to pay for that francophone entitlement! I think AB is definitely number one, Alberta has a more diversified economy than people give it credit for and the people are way nicer than Quebec! Calgary is known as the big little town where you can meet people so easily unlike the clicky francophones. Coming from a canadian who speaks french.

I'm an Indian, born and brought up in India. In 2019, my parents wanted me to go to Canada through the express entry program. My father had recently sold a property and we had a lumpsum amount of money to show in the bank account for this program. However, when I researched and saw that after a Master's degree in India, and while being paid well according to Indian standards I will have a difficulty finding job there even with 7+ years working in the IT sector. I found out that I might have to work in a restaurant in Canada before I could find a job that would suit my calibre, I was totally under a lot of stress. My family kept pushing, but I finally decided to put the money into buying a property in India. I think it's a better decision. I have maids who come to my place to cook and clean and not the other way around. I will never let my self esteem be hurt because I wanna chase some elusive dream. I think the practical thing is to stay here than go there.\nHowever, I am open to thoughts, correct me if I'm wrong.

Where else have you lived and where from originally??? I left Long Island NY where I grew up many years ago. Very expensive, winters suck. Quality of life and jobs been disappearing since the 80's... Moved to South Florida in the mid 90's. Getting stupid expensive here too, very over crowded. Traffic and people's attitudes and driving are really bad. Looking for a new escape. Been thinking about Brazil (visited there a few times years ago) or Philippines, or somewhere in Europe. But never been anywhere besides Brazil... Biggest issue of where to go is language, safety and a way to keep an income, legally or on the DL ? lol...

In your opinion/to your knowledge, do immigrant teachers easily pick up their trade? I'm a high school teacher and am thinking about emigrating. I'm from the Netherlands, so the financial bottom line is pretty much the same, if not slightly better in Canada. I worked for 2 years in the US, near San Francisco, and I miss the way of life, there was just more to do and more nature, I've been thinking about going to Canada because the climate is somewhat more alike to my own, the country is better set up than the US, and I love the nature.

I keep telling immigrants this. I want to get away from my own country (Australia). The western countries are so weird now. The only thing I think people could be coming for is the money and products. But I think that is on the way out too. Plus what you earn here quickly goes out the other hand even if you budget well, and its getting worse.....ironically it can be even more difficult to immigrate in the opposite direction...?

I am a 62 year old Canadian and I do believe things in North America were'nt always this way. I grew up in a semi-rural area. We knew who our neighbours were and knew a lot about them . In those days it was unnatural for kids to spend most of their days inside rather than running around the neighbourhood. Most people either were connected to a church or the Legion etc. There would be hockey , church dinners etc. That drew people together. Too much has changed but I don't think is consumerism alone that is the cause.

Just think of all the green house gasses caused by building these houses. Sorry 10 percent interest rate on the way just like date thanks to Toronto.

We in India enjoy our neighbours’ company and children play and cycle outside. Also we keep visiting our neighbours’ house and exchange treats and food. \nIndians visiting the west complain about these unfriendly ways quite a lot and dread to go there.

Westerners are very individualist, happy only for themselves. This is my true story of a horrific experience that happened to me on renting apartments in Montreal, i had to look for a new apartment to rent due to having to leave my apartment i was at due to fire damages that was caused by another tentant in apartment complex,anyhow i soon there after found a new apartment,this new apartment was renting for $1100.00 it had just been renovated and really nice and clean,however my horrific experience was just about to get much worse,just at the time the covid19 outbreak came around i was settling into my new apartment and really happy i had found a new place,so i thought...i soon began feeling very sick in this apartment and i kept trying to figure out why i was feeling this way,well to cut my true story short,i found out after 5 months and becoming really sick that there were drug dealers who had set up a meth lab in an apartment agent to my mine and the fumes from cooking there meth drug had been seeping into my apartment getting me very sick, still today i have lingering horriffic symptoms do to this meth poisoning, i have seen doctors and explained to them about my bad experience,i have persistance symptoms of lung problems, sinuses and bad headackes which start in this place,i found out the chemical these drug dealers were using to cook this meth was called Ether which is a mix of sulfuric acid and alcohol along with other very toxic dangerous chemicals,however the Ether chemical mix has a very sweet smell not a bad smell which is very deceiving to the sense of smell leaving you thinking how wounderful the air smells around,if you`ve rented you know there are all kinds of smells around,however it was to late by then ,how i found out it was a meth lab is a long story,i had been poisoned really bad but just as bad as getting sick is that when there is meth contamination that seeps into apartments,everything becomes contaminated,i mean everything,from cloths to furniture,tv bed,the smallest objects everything,i couldn`t take anything with me due to meth residue contamination,meth lab spores are really bad,they will linger in everything for years continue making one sick and very hard to wash or get rid of,i had to dispose of everything i had,thousands of dollars lost,all my belongings,it was horrible so horrible,the land lord had no idea this was going on in his building only later to know,also from what i have found out is that these dangerous meth lab apartments are common,i rent from a friend now and will never again rent from others,i still am sick with long lasting bad symptoms fearing for my health ,so i say Renter beware.

I think Quebec is most stunning. Steeped in history, great food, mountains and rivers/lakes and the ocean is magnificent. Newfoundland the most friendlest, night life unforgettable fun you won't know when to go home? the food to die for. But it's the people who are really the drawing card. Their big hearted kindnes cannot do enough for you to take care of you to ensure you enjoy your stay. You don't have much money? No problem just mention it to someone/anyone and Presto you will have a place to stay for free. Home cooked nutritious meals, a tour of the city and especially George St that has more Bars and Entertainment than people. Hugs Only.. by way of payment. Ohh yeah I forgot to say.. It takes me 3 months to get a doctor appointment in the US here in Seattle and I was just told several months to see my eye doctor. Depending on medical plan the insurance means you do not go to the specialist without a referral. So Canadians may not have as much to complain about. My parents were immigrants to Canada because it was easier (my father was in Danish Merchant Marine and was in China Sea when his appointment would come up in New York). They did not have it easy because they did not speak the language and worked hard to learn. Working as a housekeeper was the norm for females and my mother's education meant nothing when she expected to work in a bank. Danes stuck together and helped each other to get jobs, with carpentry (most had apprenticeships like brick laying), to socialize, etc. and this is normal for immigrants. Working multiple jobs was normal and having a great home was their American dream instead of a government apartment. It is true for all immigrants that their kids will do better than the parents. The kids will have no accent if they learn English by age 12. There are age cutoffs on learning a language in child development. During the hiring process the jobs are given to people the interviewer perceives as being like themselves. This is proven by psychologists (I am one). This puts immigrants at a disadvantage unless they have a rare skill without competition. Dad got his house and Mom took my sister and went back to Denmark because of health issues and the US has garbage medical care and social services for the elderly (poor sister didn't speak Danish because it wasn't allowed in case it impacted our English skill). As a daughter of immigrants I worked 20 hours days and weekends almost all my life. I put myself through school and have been successful despite being female and making much less than men. Immigrants need to realize that it will be their kids who make the big bucks and succeed while the parents who immigrated will struggle. As a cultural mix (US, Canadian and Danish citizen because of wacky sexist rules) I have had a lot of confusion over the years trying to fit in and figure out what my values are. I have had to ask my US husband is that behavior normal? Of course different states in the US or going 200 miles north to Canada means a different language to speak (Canadian or Spanish in the South) and different values, ways of dress, etc. so being an immigrant can mean just traveling 200 miles north or to an insane state like Texas or New York. Culture shock is everywhere but most of us move for the money. I am thinking of going back to Canada but my home was Vancouver and that now looks like a hell hole. My husband had over a million dollars in medical care and I really do not wish to lose all my assets to medical costs in the US. So now I am trying to choose between death by earthquake in BC somewhere or death by tornado or perhaps fire storm in Calgary due to climate change.

It's sad to see that people are is these situations . I think Canada will need to figure out how we deal with displaced people especially those entering from ?? illegally.\n\nUnfortunately the amount of misinformation and lies in media don't help in providing any clarity for displaced people .Canada will figure something out . Good video overall, but HUGE WARNING - You quoted the Fraser Institute (11:07) regarding the tax rates. They are not a research institute - they are a neoliberal think-tank that is openly anti-tax, anti-government and has the agenda of discrediting all social programs and social spending. The tax rate is Canada for individuals is actually quite reasonable for the social programs. I'm a Canadian living in Germany now, and I love it here, but we pay way more tax.

As a half century Canadian I have this piece of advice to all who want to come live here, in Canada, you MUST work, then you MUST contribute at least 30% of your salary to all Canadian benefits including a pension plan, healthcare, education, and low income help is also available. Then you get old and your Canadian kids think of which old folks home they will put you in, if you're lucky you have a good and safe life from war, gun violence, a fair election system, and open arms to ANY human that wants to become Canadian, and that's about it.\nSo if you're in for a free ride, or a easy living off way of life, forget Canada.\nThe beaver is our emblem, hard working, never quit, perseverance and determination.\nCanadians are known around the world for one thing, ? we are kind and forgiving.\nStay safe, and sorry you didn't like Canada, can't be perfect.✌️??✌??

As an older Canadian who was educated in Canada with a B.Ed. - then worked away from Canada for thirty of my forty years. There is no way to say that any country is the best one to live in; every country has strengths and weaknesses- that especially relate to your specific needs and wants. Coming back to the country of my citizenship was also extremely hard for me after working away for so many years. The way to do well anywhere in Canada, is to build up credibility/seniority at one job and stick with it. Whether you are university or self-educated- which is considered just as valuable in today's job market- you are going to face an uphill battle unless you are fairly established. Canada has a high level of unemployment and some sectors, have an overabundance of trained workers. When my Middle East friends tell me they would like to live and work in Canada, I give them the advice I would give anyone. First, think about your family or friends that you want to have around you in your daily life- that is number one. Nothing is more depressing than being alone. Weather is a big factor, but it can be tolerated if you are with your core family or friends. One hundred years ago when my ancestors fled war and revolution, they had no choice but to do their best to make a life in a very difficult climate (literally)- culturally and weather-wise. There are a number of refugees today that are in similar circumstances. They do their best to get past the difficulties for the sake of their children's futures. If you are not literally refugees, think hard about you choice to leave your core culture and people.

The aggressors in this incident have now played victims. Clearly they agitated the officer. His reaction shows anger. And anger is the source of what? Rudeness from customers who think they only have problems bigger than the rest of the world. Taking a video after creating the mayhem only shows the woman's and her husband's weak attempt to get the officer into trouble. Show us the video from start not from where she sees it in her favour. My vote is on the officer for kicking these rude people out. Respect is a two way street. You get what you give out.
