Lol as a Indian Brampton is pretty shit me and my mom hate going there. I do agree cAnada is taking way to many immigrants. also people in your video are right about not adapting the culture like they should. canada should higher the level of English u need. I think requirements are pretty low. don’t see any thing wrong with speaking your own language with your people. Many collages and universities have low level of requirements so they can have more international students to make money from. Also you talking about homeless people addicted to drugs that’s there own fault for making bad choices.

Why do they come to Canada, if not for the benefits? Why do these countries not set up their own Universities, where former international students go back home and teach their country and students what they learned here. It would be cheaper for them, and they can stay in their own country. But, they don't want to do that as they see Canada as the country of opportunities to bring their whole extended families here. We are already facing housing shortages, and don't need any of this type of opportunistic citizenships. They need to drastically cut the amount of foreign students allowed in. This year they are allowing 485,000 students. This does not take into account the students who are in high school or those studying for their master’s or doctoral degree's. In total it is 552,000. Then add on the Immigrants at 485,000, illegals or asylum claims( which is at record high numbers, could not find the figures for this year), then the migrant workers which are estimated between 700k to 900k. This is all too much. Drastic cuts need to be made, and this government that allowed all that to happen needs to be ousted out.

I grew up in Brampton since the early 80s and witnessed the massive cultural/demographic shift over a period of 20 years. Now, it has become the place to go for a lot of the newcomers, and that was what it was. However, with the recent illegal immigration there has been an unprecedented spike in crime. Firearms, drugs, pr@stitution, car theft, and home break-ins have all gone through the roof. I know that it still hasn't reached Toronto status yet, but we are very close considering the size of the population. We need to deal with home first before we take on the worlds problems.

Every student that comes on a student permit needs to be able to support themselves completely without taking jobs from Canadians. Ur here to study not take a job. If you want to immigrate to any other country as a student you have to have big savings… and support yourself. It’s not down to us Canadians to support your behind

So many towns that were once beautiful have been ruined by immigration. The way the government has poorly planned immigration is the problem. It's not a cross section of culture's coming in - it's too many people from countries that have no plan whatsoever to assimilate or even treat Canadians with respect or gratitude. Small affordable apartments, studios, 2 and 3 bedrooms need to be built in the major cities like Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal….not houses…because on the same land a house is built there could be a building …and take universities accountable for the students they take money from by having enough students rooms to shelter them because now they are in regular apartments in colocation…

As I understand it, it all goes back to the province of Quebec. to get Quebec to join Canada, education was made a provincial thing, not a national thing. This means that there is no national education policy in Canada, unlike a lot of comparable nations. This means it is very difficult to plan, and educate the work force to fulfill anticipated needs. The solution? Put it on the list! Immigration Canada has a list of jobs that Canada needs to fill. If you would like to immigrate to Canada, and you have work history or education for something on the list, you're in! This is much easier that investing in Canadians and planning 5-10 years ahead. If we need more nurses...put it on the list! If we need more engineers...put it on the list! If we have too many already...take it off the list. A lot of immigrants are disappointed when they get here, because from the outside, Canada seems great. Yes, it is a very safe country, and has a lot going for it. But people may be surprised to find that they have been allowed into the country, to fill jobs no one else wants. And it's a lot of work to move here from another country, so immigrants tend to get stuck in a bad situation.

I was out walking my dog and these 2 immigrants approached me and asked me if I would like to talk about Jesus. I suddenly had an uneasy feeling. As a Canadian citizen, I see that there are 3 major issues at play in this problem - \n\n1) Canadian colleges are starved off funds and do not have a sufficient, stable source of revenue. Hence they seek to attract international students who pay (at least) 4X the fee a Canadian citizen would pay. According to mainstream media such as The Globe and Mail, National Post and others, International students contribute some where between $15 to $18 billion per year in revenue to Canada. This is huge!\n\nSince this is a lucrative revenue stream for them, they have gone overboard and are providing strong financial incentives to education / immigration consultants to bring more international students here. Consequently, many existing as well as new colleges are encashing on this trend and diploma mills have mushroomed in Canada lately. This is ABSOLUTELY Canada’s fault and the accountability of fixing this lies with Canada alone.\n\n2. International students who come here often end up taking humongous debt or selling off their homes/ancestral property to be able to afford their education and hence they feel cheated when the dream they were sold doesn’t match the reality. \n\nHaving said that, International students do need to understand that they are here or a temporary visa and DO NOT get to dictate terms to Canada. It is Canada’s sole prerogative to extend their work visa or not, depending upon Canadians requirements.\n\n3. The Trudeau Liberal government benefits by giving these students extended work permits and a pathway to citizenship as it translates into votes for them. However this is an atrocious approach to winning elections and puts unnecessary pressure on the system. \n\nCanada needs to streamline this whole student visa process and take stringent action against these fake diploma mills, education and immigration consultants luring foreign students. It damages Canada’s reputation.\n\nLastly, extend the work permits of only those students that meet Canada’s labour standards and requirements and send everyone else back home.

I am shocked to hear this from a CBC reporter saying IMMIGRANTS get money from the government!! Where on earth did you get this ,outrageous information!! People who apply to come to Canada as legal immigrants , have to go through a strict points system.that can take years . Plus medical and security checks. They have to speak English or French , be educated and most of all have a skill ,trade or profession that Canada needs!as Canada does not have enough highly skilled workers. Like IT professionals, doctors ,engineers, nurses etc. They have to have a job offer .etc etc .They have to have the means to support themselves and their family . Instead of blaming these people, one must question their own government authorities who make the rules and legislation to facilitate this. Maybe it's just the truth of a desperate Canadian economy that needs immigrants to keep fueling the 'aging' Canadian economic engine. These people come in and work hard, odd jobs (not to mention the exceptional skilled ones as well like Doctors, health care workers etc.) which the regular Canadian wouldn't do. I've been in Canada for 2 years without a Family doctor. Thank God, the last 10 different Doctors I met were all fresh immigrants and came to my rescue. If immigrants stop coming in, the nice detached home you live in will go down in value, the nice truck you drive will become more expensive, your kids University tuition fees will sky rocket, Canadian companies selling groceries, furniture, etc. Will have lesser revenue and eventually get eaten up be American giants, Canadian companies won't have cheap labour to build those much needed housing. \nNot only question your government, but also question your 'own' people.. Not just India but specifically from Punjab. Most of them come on trash college degrees and work ubers and other small jobs. They're different from the educated Indians you see in corporates who try to blend into the culture. But can you really blame them? These Indian students giving such kind of opinions without realizing that they came the same way as the ones struggling now. They take for granted their current situation of privilege for having a valid study permit and a pgwp later on, however, in a few years, they’ll be walking in their shoes as well. The truth is that this country has an economy to maintain and sadly they are not concerned about your personal realization or you achieving your dreams, they need to fund the education system and after you’re done studying you are not contributing anymore, therefore, the cycle must repeat over and over again. What’s is true is that nobody has nothing for granted, and not being strategic about this life project may make you lose everything. Just research, and plan.

I dont even think foreign students should be allowed to migrate to Canada - they can get their education in their own countries instead of taking spots and jobs from Canadian citizens. Our Immigration laws need a complete reworking.

Work needs to be done back home. Go home and take your new skills there.

We need to stop being ashamed of NOT wanting a cultural change. I'm not hiding my thoughts any longer, yes they are taking jobs, yes they are lower wages, yes they are creating housing problems but what really concerns me is the cultural change. We have pretty much very similar challenges in Australia. I would say living cost is even higher than Canada. But the good aspect is the weather. In Western Australia we enjoy over 300d Blue sunny skies and in Winter although rainy, we seldom get below freezing temperatures. So i don't need to worry about damaging my LFP batteries for my Offgrid solar system.\nAnother benefit is the bike path network in WA is extensive. You can pretty much get to anywhere on a bike, riding mostly on a very nice and safe bike path. I cover 60km every day travelling to/from work on my ebike. And it takes less than 1 hour for each trip.\nCrime rate has been getting worse though. It is fuel by drug use. So if people go out especially at night, you definitely need to be highly alert and watch your 6 o'clock. One can get attacked for no obvious reason and very commonly from behind. ???

I live and Nova Scotia I moved from another province. Health care is non-existent in Nova scotia. We don’t need more immigrants until we can take care of the ones that are here…

This has been going on for thousands of years of the colonizing of a country. Newcomers to Canada are colonizing Canada and local citizens are being asked to step aside for the newcomers need room to move in. Newcomers are taking all of the jobs because their numbers are growing because they are coming into the country every day. The fact should be that only third generation citizens should be able to own property in the country. Newcomers to Canada should be renting and not owning property.

What Canada NEEDS is AFFORDABLE Housing for the working poor, OW, ODSP and get the homeless who want housing.\n\nAll Pubic Colleges and Universities should be AUTOMATICALLY adding a housing cost for International Students. This way these foreigners aren't creating housing problems for the local community. So Colleges and Universities should be buying property within REASONABLE DISTANCE from their Campuses that are only for CURRENT STUDENTS actually taking classes. \n\nThe Government needs to be RESPONSIBLE for LOW INCOME housing. More people are finding themselves unable to take care of themselves. Which leads to severe drug abuse and homelessness.\n\nNew Development should be required to be the most effective version and sustainable version of Green. 15% of the apartments should be for low income, OW, ODSP and Elderly. This will help the Government properly plan out Public Housing across each Province and Territories.\n\nThe next question is why are all these East Indians who aren't becoming TRUSTWORTHY doctors, nurses, business owners competing to live in Parkdale, Toronto versus the East Indian Hubs in Ontario.

I am Indian and the lady who was talking about adapting to the culture in the country you’re in, is absolutely right. \nBut then, Canada also needs immigrants and workers who can take up minimum wage jobs and most of them pay taxes. But yes, there are also antisocial elements that cause problems for everyone. Perhaps, to Canadianize the immigrants, the Govt can have cultural exposure and introduction classes. I wont make a drastic change but would definitely be a start. That being said, I am not sure how Homelessness and Drug Addiction is a related to immigration, I would consider it a mental health problem.

We cared so much about their suffering and wanted to help. We couldnt end the war in their countries so we offered them a safe place to share in our home (country) so they could build a life and live in peace. But just like when you feed a wild animal once they take it for granted and become aggressive when you cant give more. If you need shelter from war and someone offers you a safe place in their house or country its extremely selfish and bad manners to then keep going on about the war in the house or country that was offered to you in good wiil with only good intentions.

Higher education is a provincial responsibility, however who issues the visa is the federal government. So the federal government needs take accountability when they are stamping visas to low level schools that are clearly exploiting international students

As a Canadian who didn't vote for Trudeau even once, we deserve what's going on. The average Canadian prefer comforting lies over uneasy truths. We are asleep and need an even ruder awakening than the one we're seeing now. Every government is a reflection of its citizens, even in dictatorships... it just means the citizens are cowards and not willing to do what it takes to topple.

Little late to the conversation, but i only recently discovered this channel. I can agree with the majority of opinions in general, politics, guns, healthcare etc are all better here in Canada. Sure there may be safe pockets in the US but that’s not typically an issue in Canada. You don’t need to strategize where to live here based on that stuff, but may need to take into account the weather as it drastically varies within Canada. \nMoving to the US would typically be based on a job opportunity and likely wouldn’t provide much choice in location - go where the work is and unless it’s opening a small shop somewhere or working in a rural setting, you’re likely going to be in a bigger city where the majority of the violence is. Even so, with laws like ‘stand your ground’ you could get shit anywhere if you piss off the wring person. In Canada, you might yell at each & flip them off, then you just walk away without concern of being shot. You might get jerseyed though. ?

As the daughter of an immigrant, I am all for diversity, but this has gotten out of hand. I don't need to book a trip to New Delhi. I just need to take the Go train to Brampton or Mississauga. And from what I saw on my layover, Calgary too. Every woman I know, myself included, has been sexually harassed and/or assaulted by an Indian man. I have also been threatened with physical violence by an Indian man in a turban. Not to say that violent men are all Indian, but I don't feel safe at all in Toronto.

Anyone else notice that the increase of truck driver accidents correlates almost exactly alongside the time that we make Indian truck driving licences count in BC? If you are born in Canada these days it costs $19000 to take the class 1 test, but if you are an Indian immigrant you just need to prove that you drove truck in India and they give the licence to you.
