Canadian born students ages18 and above are having a hard time finding summer jobs.

IMO international students have said to visa interviewing officers that they will return to their country after education is over. Permitted job hours was known before they paid their education fees. I am Indian living legally in US and I would not support illegal protests from anyone who are not permanent residents or Citizens of that country. Canadian citizens have every right to express their discomfort with the international students when they behave in unlawful ways. In 2023, nearly 319,000 Indian students moved to Canada - this is a big figure only for studies.

It's illogical to pin this whole mess onto just housing issue. The deeply rooted issue is there is no vetting process from the source where these folks are misguided from the beginning. Everyone is led to believe, spend your family's life savings and when you arrive here, there is a ready to settle down nirvana in Canada. This is a beautiful country which allows you to prosper but that takes a well disciplined and enforced immigration system here and the countries where these folks apply from, and decades of hard work once you arrive here. What happened here, Wealth transferred from you to the Visa agent in the India, LMIA business owner gained wealth from you for providing a work permit, You worked hard at minimum wage jobs, who gained employer got a minimum worker, gov't got Taxes, In the end of the day, India or Canada, you lost your wealth, in false hopes and dreams. It’s very easy to go to Canada and Australia as compared to other countries. I have personally seen a lot of people around me, who were the worst students, scored the lowest and wouldn’t have made a decent career in India, let alone get a decent job, go outside and do extremely well.

Our Canadian born kids are unable to find jobs because of these Indian international students. Time to send them back when their study finished. Canadians who pay taxes need jobs for themselves and for their kids. Enough is enough.

Give them PR. We need workers in Tim hortons, McD and security staff. Also truck drivers. These are the jobs that Canadians hesitate to do. I am an Indian and I am disgusted to see what fellow Indians have done to Canada! They come here with their total lack of civic sense! I was born and raised in Calcutta as we navigated daily through filth and dirt on the streets - not only because of the poor on the street - but bec of everyone else who walks around and thinks nothing of throwing their garbage on the streets, spitting and blowing their noses on the streets and even in buildings - stairway landings, or peeing in the open - in public spaces or against building walls, etc.. Narcissistic, selfish drivers who cut people off, break the traffic rules, grab parking spots, etc.. They come here and make every effort to Indianize Canada - to make this into India instead of respecting this country that has generously and (ignorantly!!) allowed them in!! If they want to live their Indian culture in an 'Indian environment' - then for goodness sake - GO BACK TO INDIA and clean up that country your call your 'matri bhoomi' - your Mother!! The presenter is right - Indians (and Sri Lankans, Bangladeshis and Pakistanis too included here - all with the same mentality!) have dragged down the customer service experience in stores and restaurants. Indians are usually polite but they are not good at maintaining a high standard of customer service! Employees in Walmart, Costco, Tim Hortons (especially!), etc., are seen standing around, chatting with each other in their Indian languages instead of being professionally attentive to customers. The shopping experience is not pleasant like it was 25 years ago!! Well there is no perfect country. One thing which Canada has and India do not is Respect for working people. People working as Labor, Carpentor, Cleaner or Guard has respect but in India even you work as a Professor in private college you will wait many places more than three months for your salary. Second here people pay taxes and gets benefit too from Government. In India middle class job is pay tax and forget.

And this is why we shouldn’t pay crazy sums of money to foreign universities- it’s a rip off. They can tell you to go back home anytime after pocketing your parent’s life savings. \n\nIt’s easy for them to say go back - what people don’t realize is that if an Indian pays fees in Canadian dollars, they will need at least 15 yrs of earning in Rupees to pay it back. Where it would take only 2-3 yrs in Canada in earn the same amount. \n\nSo basically you ruin your life if you pay fees in CAD and then return to India immediately - you need to stay at least long enough to recover your fees.\n\nAdditionally, Canadian university degrees are not valued in the Indian job market, just the work experience. \nSo best not to pay to study in foreign university if they can’t guarantee 2-3 yrs of work. After that you can always return, it’s actually better.

I’m in Canada for past 2 years. Despite its negatives what I appreciate the most is work life balance and women’s safety. Life is difficult for international students but for those who come here with PR or jobs it’s a little better for them. Anti India sentiments are mostly among Khalistanis. There is absolute logic for non Khalistani Canadians to not like Indians- the quality of people who have been coming here are not exactly the ‘brains’ and crème de la crème of India. They lack basic etiquette and civic sense and have been caught shoplifting, evading fares on public transit. We have no one to blame other than ourselves for this. Otherwise Canadians are very polite and friendly to immigrants. I’ve never had strangers holding doors to public places open for me back in India which I have experienced here.

I have family in the USA the people are fantastic, nice places, better earnings in some jobs worse in others. The best reason to move there is opportunities if you are a band or entertainer, actor. Teachers in Canada make $60,000 to $100,000.Because our Prime Minister is leaning towards dictatorship my stance on gun laws are changing to the American view. Hopefully the next election will reverse the censorships and overreach of this particular government.

Listen I have nothing against Indians. The problem is this. This is our country. You come here and take our youths jobs, take our housing and healthcare. Also I am going to be very honest at fast food places like Tim Hortons and KFC as I have had these experiences they are rude to women. I am 63 years old and have been smirked at by two young Indians at Tim Hortons because I complained they got my order wrong. Another time at KFC my granddaughter who is 9 asked for something and they treated her rudely she started to cry. We don’t want you here. Go home with your education you get from our country and use it. We don’t need your people here without going through the proper immigration process. I find you are ignorant rude and not nice people. It’s very unfortunate when I go into a restaurant or fast food and feel out of place in my country. Time to end it time to leave stay home we have enough problems. They made it so that I could not be employable in Canada. So I moved to the U.S. in 2005 and then some years later I moved permanently to the Philippines.
