I'll agree that Canada is not a great place for religious conservatives. But very conservative religious nations are usually authoritarian. Hello Saleh Family, I am not a Muslim and never understand why people from Muslim countries decide to move to Canada. You knew well in advance Canada has winter, no Muslim culture and environment, no Arabic language, hijab is not welcomed, etc, etc. Why not to stay at Palestine where you came from, why not to move to countries with same weather, same religion, same culture, same language, be a Muslim majority at countries like Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia which is next door to country you born. I mean the authorities were doing what they had to per law - law is secular so doesn’t take into account religion. University could’ve been more understanding before calling in authorities…people need to be more aware of cut differences….

Respecting people's rights to choose what they believe and practice - but saddened that so many people\nfollow religions and do not truly research the symbolism, the history, the connections - no one should \nbe attacked for wearing a head covering etc - at the same time Muslims, like many other religious\ngroups just follow what the leaders say - and - if they truly researched they would find out that \nfollowing men and clerics is not wise and not even what our Creator wants for us.\n\nI was raised in a large world wide accessible religion - then, when I saw and heard things that\ndid not add up - I prayed for truth and then pro-actively researched - I compared the teachings\nof that religion from materials with in and from out with - and drew my conclusions - I also\nbeleive that I was led to find some very useful information not of myself - I learned enough\nto make an informed decision to leave that religion. My journey after that has not been an\neasy one as there is a lot of conflicting information and factions in this world - but over time\nmy original decision has been re-enforced by facts - I also came across the origins of Islam\nand who controls it - and that would be a surprise to many - and likewise would surprise\nother people in other religions ( including the popular New Age / Eastern Mystic religions)\nare all run by the same group world wide - and The New Age / Eastern Mysticism have\nbeen marketed as some kind of non religious freedom - but are, in fact religions with\ndogmas and leaders.\n\nThe Truth has set me free - I continue to study and to have faith alone in our Creator alone\nand I try to continue to learn what I can about the world and about spiritual things - to aid\nmy understanding and discernment. I want to ask a honest question: why muslims call for acceptancing and multiculturalism in countries they move to and are minorities, but once they become majority, they erase every single other religion from the map?

Moved from Hungary to Jordan becouse we want to know our 4 children in islamic environment. We have everyday our own challenges becouse my husband parents were refugees from Gaza. So we don't have jordanian citizenship, we don't have many basic rights(for exaple me as a nurse and physiotherapist can get a job here becouse in the healthcare only jordanian citizens can work). The battle between rationalism, western greco-roman values and religious faith does effect people. It's better for people who live by a book, to move to areas where Abrahamic religions still have relevance. Secularism has pluses and minuses, but is the hot bed of technology, invention and human rights. I really think it is a wise decision for you to move to a Muslim country. I get the feeling it is more your intolerance of diversity than our intolerance of your religion that is the problem.

It’s ironic that many Muslims – like this couple - complain about the lack of diversity for their religion in the countries they live in though their religion explicitly not allow any kind of diversity in the context of a Islamic state. Out of all the countries and societies on earth, Islamic ones are the least tolerant by default.

I'm not Muslim, and I completely understand your views and fears. I think you are making the best decision for your family. There are many things in this country and other countries that need to be addressed. Hopefully, in our children's future, all countries will be able to address issues that are unacceptable for different races, religions, and prejudices.

As an atheist I wish you all the best, it's true the political games destroying the West from within. Though I'm on the side of LGBT and i believe that they should have rights like everyone else, at the same time I understand that some extreme ideologies can go and push so far and I agree that let kids be kids. My only concern is that Islamic countries do not have any rights for LGBT people at all, in fact, they are being prosecuted based on religion since religion is basically the law. You have no value, then you will have to leave, by law of the land, not the law of your religion.

What police officer is so unacceptably poorly trained in even the most basic of religious tenants, and religious attire like this innocent man’s sacred Kirpan which is integral to the Sikh code of conduct…\n\nYou would expect that because Police officers are interacting with people from all ethnic and religious backgrounds that they would have the training necessary to know the basics of the main religions, but most importantly simply training officers to have some basic common sense, and maybe getting them to simply ask a few question if they don’t know… You know some basic civility and compassion for those of a different background… What a shame, that officer needs charged tbh… No excuse to be that ignorant in such a position of power and authority… Maybe a world religion course or two may help…

I am not muslim but I always grew up ina country with hindus, muslims, christians and I have to say all muslims I met are very peaceful and generous people. Personally, I have lots of friends who wear hijabs and I have never been bothered by it. In fact, I see it as respectful. I believe we can all live in peace no matter what our religion.

I don't understand why strict islam believers choose non islamic countries to settle in. There are so many countries in middle east, feels like half the countries have a muslim majority. Why not be comfortable living there. At the end of the day it is important to feel safe and also have a sense of belonging to where u settle down. How can a muslim ever feel that when prayers over loudspeakers are also banned. I feel like many muslims dont value their religion enough to settle in a muslim country and then when they face backlash in non-muslim country they start behaving like a victim. One cannot expect to be in an entirely different cultural environment and still force a different culture to their children. It restricts the children from integrating well in the country. When a parent from a different culture decides to raise children in a country which have a different culture, it is obvious that children will be exposed to this other culture. If that is not okay to parents, then they should not do children in a different country but rather in a country where they are blessed with their own culture. There is a choice for most people, and I am glad that you all chose it. Its beautiful to see people living in peace and in harmony with their religion. I love watching you all and hopefully you are able to encourage more muslims to choose an Islamic country to settle in, rather than being victims or having to fight in Non- Islamic countries due to western influence. That’s what I often say… Do you want to live according to your religion? Go to a country that allows you to do so. Non-Muslim countries will not change. There is definitely only one solution: adapt or leave. Muslim countries are the same, you respect them, you leave them.

....JUST REMEMBER THAT YOU IMMIGRATED IN A CHRISTIAN COUNTRY...and you..just like the other communities are a minority wich you want to impose over Canadian habitat...just like in Europe....ISLAM religion is not compatible with the CHRISTIAN WORLD .. How odd that in a Christian country there would not be a Muslim environment..... definitely if you have a religion which is less common in your country of residence you are going to be more comfortable in a country where that religion is predominate, especially when it affects your clothing choices, food choices, prayer facilities etc. Be where you are comfortable.

People come to the 1st world country for financial security, safety and free to practice any religion. If you see those things starting to degraded then you wonder. I pray that you find a better place that is suitable for your family.

Don’t come to the United States because even tho we are good with freedom of religion but the cost of living in the state of Colorado where I am are sky rocketing. It’s terrible and even in our small town there are homeless everywhere.
