This is the problem with Canada and most of the West these days. Work some kind of BS job(web entrepreneur etc) and doesn't really contribute to the country like by raising a nuclear family. It's the aftermath of feminism. They just end up traveling the world figuring out themselves instead of really building their own country. The money that you pay in taxes has really no value. It's the kids that you could bear that would. That's the modern woman too.\n\nSo yeah governments try to solve this problem, which doesn't happen only in Canada but more across the West), by outsourcing its young people to third world countries like India. But that just compounds the problem because there are just more people, and more old people with time who aren't working.

We left sweden for canada because if all rapes,shootings and gangs. Gangs decide when you are allowed to be outside, a guy got shot outside our door, another got shot very close and he was the wrong guy who just looked like someone else. One weekend we had 2 rape attemps on our Street and there was a gang shooting one station away from us at kids playgroynd when a kid got ahot by accident too. I am a Serbian and Canadian living in Canada for the last 24 years. I love \nthis country I respect this country but my God is so much different than it used to be or it is me. This summer I went with my kids and wife to 6 different countries in Europe Eastern Europe and Central and have seen 2 alcoholic then I come to Canada I see thousands of drug addicts on the street. everything is overpriced ppl do not enjoy in here. When I came in 2000 Serbian economy was low due to the war now it is better and Canadian economy is worse so the gap is very small. you need to make 6000$ to live just ok and I do live well but there is always but. I call it a pressure cooker, I wish all Canadian travel abroad a bit just to realize that they were lied too and that there's a lot of bs. I can give you an example: Condo in Belgrade same size property tax is 200$ per year condo in Qc Gatineau 2500$ plus condo fees 400$ per month basically 7000$ wasted for what? no dr wholes on the street broken system. It will be for sale. I agree paying taxes on my house where I live but for rental property when you deduct all the expenses you invested so much money without any profit. the one that works and the one that scams the system make the same amount of money and we live approx the same. something is wrong there. I will live for many years to come but definitely not spending my whole life here due to many circumstances and expenses. Family values are getting killed and I have issues with that. The more I was pushed to change the more I went to church and believed in old fashioned traditional values. Ive had ads to move to Canada. And im from Australia. They are solving the first word fertility decline through immigration. I wish they would support people born in the country having children. Im pregnant now and it seems like i missed the golden days when having kids cost less and ill always struggle. Hitting the milestones such as first house, education, and having children cost soooo much more now. So people aren't doing it. And immigrants are needed.

100% agreed. I have seen one lady(indian) helping her 4-6 yr son to pee in the school playground wall . My kids go to that school . I informed the school principal. But they can't control anyone after school hours. They asked me to call the police if i see anything in the future. It's so shameful for me because everyone hates us because of this public pee and poop issue. My wife told me she also saw a few Indian/Pakistani mothers doing the same. When she asked one of them . Her response was its school responsibility to provide the washroom even after school hours. They are not even accepting their wrong doing.

I can understand the pain the gentleman is going through my family own a life housing and land in Uganda very few tenants have paid and the government is not letting us evict them but love us to continue to pay our taxes while allowing encroachers to steal our land and some of them are military personalities. I left Germany after a year working.\nReason:\n15%- Even though i learnt german, but still faced discrimanation sometimes due to colour. Due to discrimanation outsiders can never go up the ladder. In the USA, You would see many Indians as CEO, but in Germany its impossible.\n25% - Work is too slow. Many people remain on leave/holiday. Not just my office, bank and other gov work are also very slow.\n20% - Too many immigrants. its no more germany. school has almost 80% non german.\n10% - Dependency on trains, and trains are often delayed. Getting driving licence takes lot of time.\n5% - Cold weather\n5% - High taxes (but we get some benefits)\n5% - People are very closed. I wanted to help and talk to neighbour, but they were so cold to interact.\n5% - Away from home, never felt like home.\n5%- Doctor appointment, sply for kids is nightmare. \n5%- Drugs, beer, smokers everywhere. No culture.\n\nOthers find difficulty in finding house, but i got easily.\nNow some positive:\n\n50% - Too much time for yourself. But it goes in bringing grocery and housework.\n20% - Pure air and water... lot of greenery to go around.\n20% - connectivity and tourism to rest of europe.\n5% - Free schools, good open grounds.\n\n\nMy personal reason was spirituality is missing in Germany. My family immigrated here in the 1950s out of war torn Europe for a better life. Things have changed so much since I was a kid in the 80s and 90s. Toronto was a safe city with a good vibe. Things were reasonably affordable. Trudeau didn't start a lot of the problems, but he massively accelerated them. Government is openly hostile to basically anyone who was born here. They sold out the country to wealthy foreigners. I make a decent income but I still can't afford a house. Taxes are killing me. My doctor is horrible, but I can't find a new one. Civil liberties went right out the window. The people are cold and sullen. Crime is getting bad. Life just feels like it gets a little worse every year. I've been mulling it over for a long time, but might finally be time to head south. There's got to be something better than this, because I'm getting older and life now just feels like going through the motions.

None of this would be happening if Mike Harris hadn't dissolved the rent control board. With no governmental oversight it's become a landlords free-for-all allowing rent to be increased between tenancies by whatever percent the LL choses, utterly insane. And tenants need a place to live so they'll take on a place they can't afford to get a roof over their and then this happens! It's an extremely broken system.\n\nAnd the children of the dying Boomer and previous generations are inheriting these properties and want their 'share' or 'cut'. Their folks were doing fine renting out that 2 bedroom apartment for $1200 or that entire 3-bedroom house for $2000 plus utilities but those amounts of rent once divided between these Boomers two or three, or more, kids $2600-2800 for 2 bedroom apartment or $4000-5000 for an entire house splits up much nicer for the children... broken.

I know some peeps who moved to Canada got lump sum from gov, didn't pay their rent, collected monthly cheques for the 3 kids and after 10 months left the apartment and put a down payment on a house !!! messed up !!!

My parents left their home country because of economic uncertainty and growing crime issues. They came to Canada and succeeded, and allowed me to succeed. I'm unsure, now, if I can have the same for my kids. The economic uncertainty and growing crime are real concerns. Young people don't have the same opportunities and face serious financial headwinds. So I'm in the same boat, researching what places in the world can give my kids the best leg up in the world.

Landlords do not want to rent their places because of stories like this and THAT is why there is a shortage of rental housing in Canada! Why would any landlord want to put themselves in such a vulnerable position, potentially not getting rent and in turn not being able to cover their OWN mortgage. Does the bank let people not pay their mortgage for a year?! No! I know so many people who have empty suites that they won’t rent out because they are worried about tenants not leaving when it isn’t working out or when they want their space back etc. It’s so frustrating as an owner and parent of kids who are getting older and who are looking for rentals. If the tenancy board can’t do their job then get rid of them and hire new people who can.

It's honestly getting tough to live anywhere. Global inflation is everywhere!! I live in The United States, and it's no better here, it's worse. There are many times I have thought of moving to Canada, because I'm so tired of the safety issues in this country. So tired of republicans stripping the rights away of the common people except for guns. They believe in everyone to carry any kind of weapon possible and it's killing our kids. I am tired of it. I would not convince anyone to live in my country right now, unless they want to live in a place that will be an authoritarian state in 5-10 years if the wrong people get back into power.

Canada like the rest of the West Need immigrants, not because they're doing immigrants a favor, but because they're doing themselves a favor. Capitalism has made your country too expensive and no one can afford to have kids, but you need working people propping up your pension systems.\nYou also need people to look after your elderly and work on the farms.

I came to Canada in 1984 as a refugee from former Czechoslovakia. What a fabulous place Canada was then! \nNow, if things don't change (!), it looks like I will be soon living in 1984 again. In Orwell's 1984 that is. My kids are not panicking yet, but they understand what I am warning them about. If they decide to leave one day, having no debt will be the key. People with debt will be locked down.

You enjoyed the perks of growing up in a safe country, got to learn an universal language that opens up doors everywhere, got general education (math, geography etc) and now will probably live in a 2nd/3rd world country thinking that it’s amazing. As someone who grew up in one of these countries, us kids that get to actually be born in there don’t have the same life. You have no idea what it is to be a citizen in one of these countries by actually being born there and not by being you, a well educated person coming from a developed country. Good luck with that!

I agree with you leaving. I am a 3rd generation retired Canadian who used to be proud to be so. Now I am not, in fact I am embarrassed to say I am Canadian as it is nothing to be proud of. I think of how good things were in the 70's and 80's while I was young and now how bad things are today and it is truly depressing. Back then if you are willing to work, you could make a decent living, buy a car, a house and raise a family - today, good luck with that. The people in the west have had no say in the faulty governments we have had as Ontario and Quebec have put the final nails in our coffin when they elected that buffoon JT for a third consecutive term and then the NDP kisses his butt to join up and torture us more when most sane Canadians did not ask for this. JT is truly an embarrassment for this country although the US is in step with comatose Joe. I feel sorry for the kids and many others that are trying to survive, make a living and buy houses. Reverse discrimination has been at play for 20 years or so but is really out of control these days when a white Canadian kid that has got 5 yr honours degree in University has trouble finding a job today because you are the wrong colour. Our national anthem was changed a number of years back for no good reason. Immigrants are being imported by this idiot called our PM and handed out living accommodations, jobs and our hard earned $$ that he stole from us while our own people fall deeper into the quagmire. I was born in Moldova. Brought to Canada against my will while a teenager. Got married in Canada. My kids were born and grew up in Canada, one graduated high school already in Canada and the other one is in grade 10. \nI got a career at TD that I gave up in Canada. Few years ago before quiting my job I told my wife I'm done with Canada.\nI was lucky that moldovans due to historical events before WW2 are allowed to resore their Romanian citizenship and I did that. My kids by law had to restore their EU citizenship as well. \nRight now I'm in Romania and I'm in the process of selling everything in Canada and bringing my wife and kids over. \nIt was the best decision of my life. It's such a breath of fresh air to see that people can live a normal life with normal taxes and life values. \nFor those who are behind, if you have means and ways to move just run while it's not too late. Life is one and don't waste it on corrupt politicians that from boredome and easy money only have one wish: to enslave you mentally, physically and financially. Run while you can.

We are moving to Malaysia next year...I don't want to, Canada is our home and our love where our families are and friends are but Canada is just not safe for kids, for families and there is no growth here.

Albertian here. No way Alberta has the number one education system. When kids in grade 6 can't name the capital of their own country but can name all the first nations that make up Alberta. That is a problem.

I advise you to think leaving Canada carefully as you are perfectly safe where you are now in central Canada. But you need money to live a good life. So your goal should be to get the qualifications for a good job, or good man to support you. As an old man in Arizona at age 76, I can clearly state the number of good women in your age bracket are rare too. I dont even want to talk about the health care system of Canada it literally sucks. I got my family doctor after 6 years. India me raho Canada ghumne aoo vapis chle jao.. In the front page picture there are 3 kids, 2 well dressed whitish men, 1 woman...in reality there would be 6 blackish testo fuelled bachelors...

As much as I could make more money by living in the States no amount of money could make the anxiety of potential school shootings worth it. I know my kids have essentially 0% chance of that in Canada. Also getting cancer won't ruin me and my whole extended family financially. It's a mixed bag, I love aspects of both country and right now the affordability crisis here is awful but with the Liberals out of the way we'll bounce back. I would love to see a Conservatives + NDP + Green Party coalition, let conservatives run economic development, NDP the social programs and Green party be the climate watchdogs.
