She stood in line for hours & days before getting her Green Card vs. 8 months for a skilled worker, or 11 months for a partner card now, or generally never. Sadly, this is a fairly normal viewpoint for a long-term immigrant. It's pathetic.

Everything is politics. I also came to Canada in 2006 as an immigrant with my 2 bags and started my new life with empty handed which almost all Indians had started on their time. Yes it’s very hard to adopt other cultures 100% for first generation. But have you think how this new immigrants have their own house and good jobs or business. Why their kids achieved higher education without any loan because their parents worked 7 days without looking around so called culture. They believe in work hard and focus on their family and kids and in extra time visit temple or Gurudwara just to keep live their believes. Do you know how many places where you find 3 times free hot food for everyone in Brampton at Gurudwara and Temple without looking at his originality. \nDon’t think the immigrants are coming here are poor in their country or helpless like refugees. Most of are millionaires in India but in Indian culture the stupid thoughts is to earn for next 7 generations so because of that greediness they work here 7 days and that’s why they are not homeless. As they have some values of their Indian culture they have not drug addictions.\nNot 100% Indian are good and loyal or honest. There are few which you can find in any culture or religion.\nSo in bottom line immigrants are here because of govt policies and invitations. They are not came as refugees. You can’t forced anyone where they have to stay and in how many percentage. Many people don’t live in GTA or ran away from GTA because they can’t afford house and can’t stand in competitive market. Government should skilled own citizen or make more powerful before invite highly skilled immigrants from other countries otherwise new immigrants will take jobs from original and that will be continued with us too.

Back in the day if you had even 1 drop of Native America blood, you were consider full NA and suffered whatever repercussions were sought. In this case, according to Trump rules, she has 1 drop of 'illegal blood' because she has family members who are here and presumably she's associated with somehow, perhaps even offering a safe haven. She would be treated just as Trump intends to treat them all.

Number one rule: Canada has bathrooms for a reason. Keep your bodily functions to yourself. Nothing more repulsive than a family enjoying a day at the park being ruined becuz someone else wants to do what they do in their country in public. I am a German born, Germany raised second gen immigrant. I am almost 30 now. To this day, I do not feel as part of this country. Why? Constant discrimination, being treated extremely poorly, lower chances at anything really, bullied and abused since infancy. I am very highly educated and skilled throughout various domains and tried to achieve the best I can. If I work in Germany, less skilled people will do everything to sabotage me, due to jealousy. People just waste your energy and time constantly for their own insecurities. I have left some years ago and will never come back. Germany will end itself and I am sitting to watch it!

come to the middle east there is a future for everyone. i don't know what is wrong with the western people. what do you want from life?you have got everything in Canada. as a person who is living in the middle east and struggling with poverty, corruption and war, i wish i could live in Canada just for one day. but i come here and see a woman calming that Canada has got no future. so you can go to the Mars. As someone commented already, we are needed but not wanted. Dealing with Auslanderbehorde is still a mess with long wait times, and what not. There are lot of things which simply doesn’t make sense. Language is a big concern especially in all not so big cities. Inflation and cost of living still eat up majority of the salary. Incentive to work in Germany is being questioned almost every day

It's Not enough and this was Not Fair! We came here in this country and vetted for 6 years by Immigration and all proper education requirements met. My mom worked so hard to be able to come into this Country when I was 14yrs old, there were Rules and Criteria. Now, it's all a Joke. People can come into Canada without proper oversight and Money works. As long as you have huge sums to pay, they let you in, easily, 3months you get Permanent Resident status, we worked hard for 6 years, even doesn't matter if you're a criminal from back home, they let you in, as long as you have money. No proper Vetting process! What has this Current government done to this once great country? They ruined this whole Canadian immigration dream for everyone. My family feels angry and cheated on! I worked 3 jobs since I came here young upto this day 26 years later, pay my taxes and these 'cheaters' get paid social assistance. Very Shameful Canada!

That old lady is absolutely and outright lying. First off, she stood in lines for hour or days to get her green card? That means she came at a time when immigration was much easier and wanted, to increase gdp and to do the jobs normal Americans didn’t want to. Now, immigration takes forever, many years in fact, because the older republican white generation figured out that they yet again the minority, which has never actually changed. But republicans now use the immigration card because it’s literally their only option, why do you think Trump stopped the bill. He would be losing so much support. Also, for that old Mexican lady to say those things about her own family, tells me, she is not someone who cares for others or may even care at all. She became a racist just like the republicans and her family should be ashamed of her. Lastly, different times of immigration, this time around, those leaving other countries are trying to save their families lives, having to deal with authoritarian dictators, drug cartels and corrupt governments. Wild. The last time I was in Toronto was late 2019. I've been going there since I was a toddler. People have b*tched about the cost of living for a long time, but I actually don't remember ever seeing a homeless person there or feeling unsafe walking anywhere in the city, at any time of the day or night. Still not enough. And too little way too late. Our small town convenience store is a total revolving door for East Indian ‘family members’. You get whiplash because every week or 10 days there is a new immigrant working there. Very poor customer service, and barely any English. Of course people get fed up! They NEVER hire local.
