I am amazed about Canadians talking about Indians, who make an attempt to fit in. Yet they have no problem with the millions of Chinese that have no desire to blend. Toronto and Vancouver have more Chinese than Canadians. Trudeau controls the narrative, he is owned by the Chinese government so he won't say anything about them and the fact that they have driven the cost of housing out of control for all Canadians.

In my city (Windsor, Ontario) we have a college and university that have literally set up “recruitment” centres IN INDIA. I don’t blame the foreigners for coming here, they do it legally and honestly a bunch that I have talked to are struggling themselves.. I’m talking like, 12 guys to a small shared living space (which also negatively effects rent prices.. especially where I live) They expect to come here for a better life but they’re just thrown in the mix with those of us who are already drowning. \n\nThe government just stopped caring about its citizens and it’s really scary. They take the immigrants money and our taxes and they’re content.\nA friend was asked to leave a job fair because it was over capacity.. getting even a minimum wage job is damn near impossible now. \n\nAlso, question, I heard the reason that all minimum wage jobs (fast food restaurants, Walmart etc.) are only hiring Indians is because the government reimburses the employer half of their wage. I tried to do some research on this but couldn’t find anything.. is this true and being kept hush-hush? If it is, we need more people to speak out on this.

Not all poor people living in streets are drug addicts. there can be people who are betrayed by the people they trusted or people living in slums who are earning less/nothing. Government can get them a better home/hut (1940 homes) for least money possible. indian slums, they are not drug addicts. they would probably not have money to even buy food. To be honest, there are too many Indians immigrating to Canada and they take over all the jobs in government units. Even with new policies, Indian officials will follow India's corrupt ways. Indian government customer services across the board are mostly impolite and unprofessional and government workers treat customers especially other Indians with distain, like how dare you ask me or why this has not been done. Until 2020 (pandemic), most lifelong Canadians would have proudly & quickly said Canada is a great place. For multiple generations (young & old). It still is in many ways. But like all countries, a bunch of things have made life more difficult lately. \n \nDuring the COVID lockdowns, many people went wild wanting to buy a house (urban & rural). Increasing demand and rising prices. Not long after, inflation caused mortgage rates especially to rise. Rent costs soared too. People interested in working in hospitals declined. Less doctors etc.. \n \nSimultaneously in Canada, the number of people coming by air, land and boat to claim asylum skyrocketed. For example, in 2023 alone, in just one region (Central Canada) around 400 people arrived per day (on average). Ditto for other populated provinces. Also the number of international students SKYROCKETED too. In 2023, averaging around 2,000 per day across Canada. Years 2021 and 2022 had high #s too. \n \nThe majority trying to migrate to Canada recently have been from South Asia. And it's become extremely obvious to Canadians. Even those that are very used to much diversity & many cultures. Plus neighborhoods now know that international students are using schooling as a 'back door' ticket to come to Canada for permanent residency. No one says it in public amongst strangers, but everyone knows because they've witnessed the extreme PR frenzy firsthand by now. To many Canadians it has felt like a tidal wave that has reached all cities and small towns, with a post secondary school. This extreme situation never existed prior to 4 years ago.\n \nHospitals have been hit with many wanting free healthcare. Less doctors/nurses etc., means greater waiting times. Plus a VERY SEVERE HOUSING CRISIS has occurred in many western countries including in Canada. In ways not seen in people's lifetimes. And if you do find a place to live its quite expensive. Including small basement rooms. \n \nNow westerners want the money greedy agents (pseudo smugglers) in other countries to stop marketing & LYING to their own people about access to PR or citizenship … or accommodation/jobs … being easy (to get). And for any greedy people living in western countries to be ashamed of themselves if they're hurting students. Anyone doing things to make $ off of people's PR desires. At best, there is a 25% chance of gaining PR (better odds if you are masters/medicine etc.). \n \nNot all players across the board have acted honestly over the years, i.e. contract marriages (IELTS spouse), anchor babies, fraud, false asylum claims. Canada has asked the India government to prevent “ghost consulting”. The new PRIVATE (non-public) colleges are being investigated (including looking for strong oversea ties). \n \nCanadians are meeting students who told Canada they have enough $, but it turns out they borrowed it (some borrowed it for the application process only). Canadian food banks and other CHARITY services have been recklessly advertised on YouTube (by India students in Indian language). Many transit services have launched stricter rules, i.e. lost monthly bus passes registered in your name are now never replaced (unlike before). \n \nThen this year throw in all the Palestinian vs Israeli angry protests happening regularly in cities. Plus the Sikh vs Hindu violence/extortion mostly happening in Ontario and British Columbia. Plus the Canadian government also recently launched investigations in regards to foreign interference in Canadian elections. All stemming from Asia continent. Hate crimes have gone from rare to occasional (primarily South Asians against South Asians). \n \nCanadians are so so so so so not used to all this. So many, who have embraced multi-culturalism and immigration for decades are now VERY worried and fearful (due to all of the above). And all are praying it doesn't turn into great anger (like in the USA). \n \nCanadians want multi-culturism to succeed … and for all people (including immigrants) to be okay. Everyone I know is VERY happy with Canada Immigration's recent changes (reductions & investigations). Including multi-generational long-term Asian-Canadians where many have been the most upset (by all of this).

It is very interesting to observe how demographics have changed over the decades.When I first arrived in Canada in 1972 (51 years ago), the Indians were almost invisible, it would be an extraordinary sight to see one. Now, they are all over the place and there is no housing by the way. But yes, it's the student visas that have saturated the system and now the inept government is scrambling to find solutions to the housing problem that has ballooned. I get CPP and old age pension but have to continue working due to the high cost of living, it is ridiculous.

It's a double edged sword. The industry (fast food, food retailing, services) WANT those people, be it international students, refugees or other to work because there is insufficient response from the local population of young people. Even certain restaurants and hotels had to remain CLOSED after the pandemic, because they could not find enough people to work. The government covid money dissuaded the local population from working. It is a huge mistake to admit so many Indian students attending low-credentialed private colleges and then allow them to work 20-30 hours a week. Trudeau and Miller are to blame for this. But at the same time, there was a labour shortage due to the ageging population and the fact that people have fewer kids today. Canada should give greater priority to trained professionals in areas where there is a need, such as construction, education and nursing. People in India, China, eastern Europe and other countries can get very good training in technical colleges, but it is the wealthy families in these countries that don't want their kids working these jobs.

I had dealings with the Indian consulate office in New York from 1990 to 2012. The staff back then was really bad. Government workers didn't speak nicely to people and acted as if they were better than everyone else. There are law firms that can get your tasks done quickly because these Indian lawyers know the consulate staff. They give them gifts, and the work gets done without you having to go to the consulate.

Its a lose-lose situation. The immigrants dont realize that the citizens have zero incentive to help them because they will be putting their own children's future at risk. When i was 16, I could find an entry level job. Now, the kids cant even find a job because its filled with literally the lowest common denominator (3rd world immigrants mostly India) and they wont hire anyone who isnt Indian. We had to move out from Brampton bc it become terrible place to live. 3000 sq ft beautiful homes in nice subdivision. House next to us, 4 families in one house crowded like rats. Indian music playing laud in garage on Sundays. About 15 kids seating on top of 6 ft fence staring in our backyard. Couldn’t enjoy life anymore. Crime start to spike. Today people blame on Liberals, however that was during Conservative government of Brian Mulroney. Those immigrants destroy city. I hope they all leave Canada.

The headline is wrong. These people they interviewed are not permanent residents. Therefore they can’t apply for citizenships. They interviewed these Indians who were international students. Who come here misrepresenting themselves in their visa applications. Pretending to be students but come here to work and stay. Canadian government put stricter rules on them to crack down on bogus immigration consultancy and colleges that exploit these students. This news segment is not 100 percent clear. It is true there are pr or naturalized citizens of Canada that leave the country to move back to their home country or move to another country but not all are Indians.

Not a big surprise most are giving up on Canada, even its own citizens.\nAlso, before the 35% student visa cut annouced by Canadian government, Indian students who who make 38% of Canada's student population, had 80% less new applications from India, after the Trudeau fiasco. So, 35% cut is just a facade to hide the obvious damage.

I was born and raised in Toronto. The Trudeau government has absolutely destroyed our economy and is now scamming poor developing nations to come here and work as wage slaves while packing 25 dudes into a basement. This is deplorable. This is just the Indian student scam (selling false dreams and a poor education), we also have the migrant labour scam in our fruit/vegetable fields where workers are abused. Canada should definitely see what kind of an image they have made of themselves. They have shown themselves to look like an illiterate government. I've never made more money and never lived my life better. \n\nWhen a million students come to study every year in 2 major intakes, it's obviously hard to find jobs. Canadian government has rightfully put a cap on this number to prevent this. The only mistake they did was not putting a cap 3-4 years ago.
