Refugees are supposed to stop in the first country they can. El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, USA, Canada. Did they get turned down three times before arriving in Canada? Or did they want to shop for the best deal? Now I might possibly have been convinced to be somewhat sympathetic. Maybe. Until this guy ducked an appointment and went and hid in another province. Put him on a boat back to El Salvador. Dump him out on the dock when it gets there.

Canada is a cool country???? as for India its currently fast picking up economy in the world churning out engineers docs mgt cadre in the thousands so nobody is bothered if a few dont want to go back .

There is a simple solution here.. go back to your home country, you are not breaking the law by being there. If you want to move to the U.S. or Canada, apply to move there legally. Not sure why this is so difficult for people to understand, it is not that damn complicated.

I'm a US expat living in China. In china, you cannot get a green card. I leave every 60 days because I can only stay for up to 60 days, just to turn around and come right back that same day. Once i'm back in China, I need to register my address with the police, and update my resident card. To get a 60 day business visa here, I had to get a Chinese company send me an invite, then need it to get approved. The process was expensive. But I follow Chinese law, and respect it with everything that I am. This is China and this is there laws. So who is VICE to make a victim out of this person? Just a crock of shit. This guy can go to many many countries around the world. India, Indonesia, even China but from the looks of it, this guy could not handle China. Why does he absolutely need to settle in Canada or the USA and cry when they don't want him? Go mother fucker, go anyplace in the world you want, just go.

I feel bad for his innocent children to have to go through this. You want to live in another country, you need to follow the law like every else. You learn the language, get the same I.D. We all have to have , and be treated the same as if any American were to illegally cross boarders! What we have to go through just to have identification here should be no different for anyone else! It sounds nice to say “Everyone has a human right to go where they want.” It isn’t so simple. If people come illegally, they affect everyone in the new country and all the people coming legally. If you detain them together with their family, you are incarcerating children, if you take the parents only you break up families. If you send them back with no detention and no appeals, you miss cases with legitimate grounds to have an exception. Bottom line, someone is on the losing end no matter which policies you use—it’s a fiction to say there is a win-win-win. So let’s make hard choices.

Advice: follow the rules. Something people DON'T want to do anymore, and they want the rest of us to applaud them while they are bucking the system. And, providing for them while they do it. Our countries can NOT take in millions upon millions of people and not have severe consequences in ALL areas. Why cant people understand this? We cant take in the entire 3rd world and support them. WE dont have enough jobs for ourselves, let alone provide jobs and houses for the rest of the world. No one bought me a house. And the 2 years I got welfare after leaving an abusive husband, I HAD TO PAY BACK... I paid back EVERY CENT, and was forced to, which I DID. You hear me complaining and going to the media about THAT? The best and smartest thing any immigrant can do is to learn to speak and write English even though that's not politically correct to say. He would have been better off in the United States flying under the radar. Although with Trump as President INS will throw you out in a heartbeat. RE: Canadian healthcare, my wife broke both her hips in 2017 in two separate falls, she was admitted immediately to hospital without delay and operated on the next day (half hip replacement), after physio and occupational therapy she was discharged and provided Homecare, 16 times per week plus weekly Day Hospital. Our cost for both operations was roughly $160.00 for parking spots for me so I could visit her and about $140 in Tim Horton doughnuts for staff. The system does not have enough of certain types of specialists thus wait times for those specialists, and there are wait times for elective surgery. The system has not really been reviewed since its inception in the 1960s but making significant changes is the third rail of Canadian politics and a hard look is justified after 70 years. Re: illegal crossings; The gentleman in the video has a problem in that the US and Canada have signed a “safe country” agreement and neither will accept refugees from the other as both Canada and the US are deemed “safe havens”. He crossed illegally, if he had crossed legally he would have been immediately turned back at the border but he clearly entered the country between border crossings and was likely arrested and released on recognizance but not returned immediately as the agreement is silent on illegal entries (yes, seems a touch strange). As many people are leaving the US for Canada the system is overwhelmed. Tent cities have been set up in Quebec and public housing used in Manitoba to house illegal immigrant pending processing - those with criminal records are held for deportation. Canada has accepted roughly 25,000 Syrian refugees from camps in that part of the world. These refugees were first vetted by the UN then Canada. These refugees are completely different from the people crossing the border illegally from the United States. This pales to the 75,000 boat people accepted after the fall of Saigon. Canadians have been generally accepting of refugees but wants the process guided by the rule of law. Immigrants are a separate from refugees and the rules governing their entries into Canada are different.
