I have a lot of family and Alberta, as well as some in Vancouver and Toronto. Growing up, I always idealized Canada and wanted to move there so bad, despite the fact that I had 1st hand experience with Canadians who often told me the negatives.I tried to move to Vancouver twice, decided It didn't make economical sense for me. Once covid happened, it really made me thankful that I never made a permanent move to Canada. I also have to remember that most of the time I've spent in Canada was during the summer, and I have to remind myself the weather is only that nice for a short amount of time, most of the year you're buried under snow (or rain if you're in Vancouver).

This is very surface-level analysis. If you want to dive into why Canada's economy is so uncompetitive you have to look at its constitutional framework. Inter-provincial trade is more difficult in Canada compared to Trade in the states or the EU because NAFTA, and the EU trade agreement are more efficient compared to inter-provincial trade frameworks the senate estimates these barriers cost the economy $150b in GDP per year. By comparison, Australia with a similar constitutional structure to Canada managed to harmonize many of its inter-state/ territory regulations leading to increased GDP growth and has long outperformed the Canadian economy. Furthermore, Canada's indigenous rights framework is far to restrictive in terms of allowing the governments to actually govern. This has cost us billions in FDI in projects tossed out by the courts and projects that will simply never be considered due to political and regulatory risks. \n\nThat said, if Canada wanted to improve this situation without meddling in the constitution one thing they can do is to allow housing to catch up to the population. We have the fewest number of dwelling per capita in the G7 in the highest population growth in the G7. This is a recipe for a housing shortage which ensures that a lot of capital will flow into the housing sector simply because it offers promising returns relative to the risk of operating a business. I believe Canada grew by over 1,000,000 residents in 2022 however we had 240,000 housing starts (4 residents per dwelling) and average house size here is 2.51 residents per dwelling. \n\nThat disconnect between housing starts (see regulatory framework above as to why we can't build enough houses) will just cause more capital to flow to the sectors making the business investment environment worse.

We talk about weather daily. I could go on and on how the 70s-90s were one of the best time periods in modern history for various reasons but I wont. There are problems internationally, we live in a globalist world. All I will say though is leave the huge metropolitans like Toronto and Vancouver. Everyone wants to go there because they think 'theres more opportunity' ugh. Theres opportunity across canada but if everyone things like that there will be problems. The idea of Ontario or BC is just a big nope for me (although I go to BC every couple years, love it there I would not want to live there).

I waited in Mexico for my residence for 3 years when I married my husband, he is Canadian, I never lived illegally in Canada... before, I used to come to work with a work permit and these people cry because their papers did not arrive for a year.., I I was separated from my family for 3 years and I never tried to cross illegally... what happens with these people, they want everything easy and they only abuse the Canadian system

It never used to be as long as this in the UK, it is because it is congested now, when I came the UK, I came as a student and getting a permanent stay wasn’t as tough as now. It's unconscionable that we've invited people to come to Canada without actually following through on the promise we made to them in the first place. Was it all just sloganeering designed to appeal to liberal progressive NIMBYers? Was there ever any intent on actually doing something for these poor people beyond a sound bite or photo op? \n\nThe solution to migration because of war, terror, famine and so on is not by opening up the borders and allowing everyone in, the solution to mass migrations (over 100 million worldwide) is to tackle the conditions that make such migrations necessary. Almost without exception, each one of these migrant/refugee situations are the result of political problems that have to be tackled in those countries where the conditions exist. There are over 100 million people fleeing conditions that make life unbearable, even if we wanted to, how are we to take them all into North America? How does anyone propose we do that, and even if we could manage it somehow, another 100 million would show up on our doorstep next year...or next week...it's simply not possible or reasonable to expect us to be overwhelmed by wave after wave of the poor unfortunate. The solutions to war and famine abroad can't be found here and we need to make it plain that people who live in such conditions must first rise up to help themselves. We can and should help, politically, through foreign aid and individual donations (North Americans are among the most generous donators after all), and even militarily where feasible or possible. The UN and other coalitions of nations, must each take up the burdens before people smugglers take it up for them. We have our own problems to deal with here and I'm not willing to vote for promises made that were never meant to be kept.

If you want a real taste of Canada you are not traveling to Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, Vancouver, Ottawa etc. Visit a city or town that you must rely on your neigbour, not avoid them. Approx 12%+ of Canada's GDP is located in rural Canada. I agree with your video to an extent, sure I grew up in a town with, 3rd world condtions, no clean water, no sewage, no roads, fly in fly out and you never mentioned that we have a small portion of that here too. Working 2 jobs and living in a car in the US is better than their opportunities back home. Why can we never talk about the main issue about immigration. Once again politics swung massively to the right with countries like Italy (once again), Hungary, Austria, Poland and Sweden, voting in right wing governments, France ending in a run off that narrowly defeated the far right, Belgium and Spain looking likely to be heading into heavily right wing governments at the next elections, whilst the US and UK governments both saw their politics swinging far further in that direction, especially the UK right now whilst led by an unelected leader who is demonising people in ways that would make Trump look soft. One of themajor rallying calls: immigration. The way media report on this becomes increasingly demeaning and hateful. During the 1930's much of the European media and even as far as the UK was ramping up the scorn against the ever increasing influx of Jewish immigrants coming from Germany. Even into 1944 there was a vast amount of demonisation of them seeking asylum, despite the knowledge by this point that there were horrific conditions in camps where extermination was becoming ever more apparent. The Nazi German government in 1936 passed laws that enabled them to revoke citizenship and stripped away laws on human rights. It would be great to say that these poor souls who were being demonised in their own country were accepted into nations who could see what was going on and who wanted to help, but that just wasn't the way it went. Media played out as it is now, leading to rejection and a greater number of deaths as a result of this. The way the UK government is currently working, it actually sounds like the maxi government of the mid 30's during the time of the Nürnberg laws. \n \nThe world feels far smaller now with double the amount of people and with things like social media playing a huge role in the lives of many. The ease of access to people around the world has made issues seem to stretch to far more countries now, whereas back then it was a time of empires. I get that there will be many here who support Trump, many who support Biden, there will be Brit's who support Sunak and the rather vicious words of Suella Braverman, whilst others will be more on the side of Starmer (I'm well aware of all the other parties but they don't stand to gain as much). There will be French people backing Macron, whilst others back Le Pen. We could go through each country all the way to the battle between Fujimori and Castillo in Perú, and the stories are much the same, but how will history judge us when people look back to this time? Will it be another occasion where we demonised those trying to escape the horror of the place they had the bad luck to be born in whilst we were luckier? \n\nI know there is hardship everywhere. I'm struggling more than most and I know I can't keep living this way. However, I don't want to be a part of history people look back at and say ‘if only they did something to help prevent this.’. I would rather be a part of history people look back upon and say; ‘that was a boring time period where nothing important happened’. It's already too late for that. Instead I try to remember that, though I was born into a family who never really wanted me, I was lucky enough to be born into a country that could support me during the hardest times. When you look at immigrants, remember that every one of us has immigrants in our family tree somewhere.

Yes and if these people truly believed in God and Jesus they wouldn't run from their countries but actually stay on the ground and stand strong in their faith that God and Jesus are going to help them persevere through all this. As a fully disabled American citizen with a child that doesn't even get $1,000 a month and there's no available housing at all where I live no waiting list to go on people on SSI disability don't get any extra housing help we're not offered separate housing are put on separate lists and low-income Able Body people or the migrants jumping the Border but I was born and raised here paid taxes and worked until my body literally couldn't anymore but I don't hear anybody bitching and screaming and crying about the fact that my son and I would be on the streets if it hadn't been for one of my family members stepping up and giving his housing after a lifetime restraining order issued during my pregnancy on my son's biological do do with domestic abuse situation. I'm also US citizen that spent time in the Wards in Houston and projects and other cities and if you don't think that we don't have the same gun violence drug trafficking human trafficking gangs take it over cartels taking over neighborhoods and communities than you're freaking lying to yourself and everybody else. The same s*** that's taken over these countries is taking over the inner cities have been for decades and these are the same communities that most of these people will end up in. I mean did you all forget the night they came to take them away they were asleep in an Open Garden it wasn't like they popped up tents or glamper camper sites had some little Adobe type cabins they were sleeping in. As a matter of fact if you pay attention to most of the stories about Jesus and talking about him sleeping he does a lot of sleeping Outdoors. I have Fred still in Florida and we were all making jokes about how quickly Sanibel Island all the way up to st. Pete got Mainland access so quickly after the last major hurricane that took everything down and we all know what it's from is because that portion of Florida is used to bring a lot of drugs in from South America, Central America. So for all of you that want to post your personal assumptions about homeless people because that's all it is unless you've actually been homeless or spent time around homeless you really have no clue what's going on in the homeless population except what you've been told by the same political talking head media bulshit that's been lying to everybody about a bunch of other stuff too. Don't you get it the politicians don't want people knowing that a lot of the people that are homeless on the street are people that are disabled and aren't disabled because they have mental health problems I know that's the narrative they've been trying to stuff down people's throats.
