Also Quebec doesn't count they're a buncha hosers

It's an exaggeration to say that Canadians are all collectivist. That's true for certain regions, say Quebec and the Maritime provinces, but less so for Ontario and the Western provinces. Even amongst the general population, it depends on one's ideological leaning, as in leftwing (socialist) vs more right-wing (capitalist). Canadians are diverse ideologically as well as racially/ethnically. I suspect ypur perceptions about Canada are somewhat influenced by the fact that you've spent most of your time in large urban centres like Toronto and Montreal, which tend to be quite leftist politically compared to more conservative regions like Southwestern Ontario and the West.

The Montreal newspaper of December 2, 2022 Quebec - Canada \n \nInfo-Sante: Quebec calls on retired nurses to the rescue \nNo short-term improvement in emergencies, admits Dubé \n \nThe Quebec Health Minister Dube on the defensive \nThe current crisis in Quebec hospitals was at the heart of the very first parliamentary contest in the National Assembly since the elections. The Minister of Health has been the subject of crossfire from the opposition parties, which are demanding tangible results in the health plan of the CAQ. \n“There are 30% of parents who hang up on pediatric 811 because they have no service. There are 16% of people who leave the emergency room because they have no service!”, railed Liberal MP André Fortin. According to him, these figures show that the minister has simply failed. \nNot to mention the list of patients who have been waiting for surgery for a year and more, which has not diminished, despite Christian Dubé's promises. The latter has undertaken to reduce this threshold by the spring to the pre-pandemic level, that is to say to 2,500 operations. Currently, there are more than 21,000 patients on this list. \n“He reduced the list of patients waiting for surgery in Quebec by exactly 0%, zero. In fact, the list, it has increased. So, until now, his target, his commitment, his promise on the surgery waiting list has been a failure,” added the elected official from Pontiac. \nMinister Dubé claims to have recently met with medical specialists, who have undertaken to “update” the plan in the coming weeks to reduce surgeries. \nWith the variants of COVID-19 and the many viruses in circulation, the summer period was not conducive to catching up on operations. “We have to strike a balance between the hospital beds that we use either for emergencies or for surgeries. And when we have problems like we have, at the moment, with emergencies, it is sure that the surgeons suffer from it”, he insisted. \nSurgeries in numbers \nTotal number of patients awaiting surgery: 160,869 \nPatients waiting for a year or more: 21,066 \n*Source: Ministry of Health dashboard dated November 5, 2022

Too darn funny... Quebec number one? Where you can get arrested for putting up English signs...
2022-12-10 0
Quebec is awesome and I think it is very close but I still think Ontario should be number one.
2022-12-10 0
I disagree with these rankings, I would place Ontario above Quebec, having lived in several provinces, I know for a fact that Quebec has much higher taxes than Ontario, and in my opinion, Quebec's healthcare system is horrible compared to Ontario, it is so bad, many Quebecers will drive hours to come to Ontario hospitals. Quebec bureaucracy and government policies and red tape are ridiculous bordering on absolutely stupid. I grew up in Quebec and would never return there to live. You forgot to mention British Columbia's very high crime rate.

Quebec need to be first and become indépendant vive le Québec libre that Is because i live in Quebec
2022-12-10 0
Funny how Quebec has been sponging off the rest of Canada through equalization payments for 60 years and is SOOO great. It would be garbage without Alberta oil!!
2022-12-09 0
damn I expected Quebec to be so much lower on that list. TBH Quebec is just like, so bad if you speak french. But otherwise yeah I guess it's good
2022-12-09 0
how tf is Quebec #1? was born there im still here and i dont agree xD
2022-12-09 0
Quebec was 1st???
2022-12-09 0
i live inj british columbia and although it is beautiful and an outdoor lovers paradise its also run by the NDP who are destroying everything they touch, its outrageously expensive and the wokeness is disgustingly strong here. if i did not love fishing so much i would leave bc to escape the ndp who ruin my beloved province. we are too small to have any meaningful say in Ottawa and trudeau uses us , manipulating our resources at will to benefit ontario and quebec...2 examples... LNG terminals and open water salmon farms
2022-12-09 0
Quebec is pure garbage ?…. Avoid at alll cost
2022-12-09 0
Ontario is 10 and Quebec is 10.5... they are pure shit.
2022-12-09 0
QUEBEC NUMBER 1 ?? ARE YOU INSANE?? THEY ARE DEPENDING OF THE REST OF CANADA, THEY ARE LAZY BUMS AND HATE THE REST OF CANADA. WITHOUT ALL THE MONEY OTTAWA TAKES FROM ALBERTA QUEBEC WOULDN'T EXISTS., BUT, NOW WITH THE PREMIER DANIELLE SMITH EVERYTHING WILL CHANGE FOR THE BEST FOR ALBERTA. NO MORE EXPLOITATION FROM OTTAWA.

I'm an expat from Quebec and was very surprised it was ranked number 1. Very good, might have to move back
2022-12-09 0
I am proudly from Quebec in Montreal. It is a good place.
2022-12-09 0
I leave in quebec and i dont agree an i speak french lol. Quebec should be 4 or 5
2022-12-09 0
Quebec, home of the most arrogant assholes in history, fucking welfare frogs
2022-12-09 0
Gotta say, being from BC, Quebec is not the best. The people there are rude and disrespectful, and their service of work and help is horrible.(I have visited there many a time)
2022-12-09 0
Quebec has the worst people in Canada though
2022-12-09 0
In what world is BC not the best province in Canada? Aside from the high property costs it's objectively the best by almost every metric aside from population as quebec and ontario have more. And how the fuck is Alberta over it, that province is trash and it's only rich because of oil and resource extraction. They have also pissed away their oil wealth on stupid vanity projects and handouts to bribe their citizens. The Texas of Canada and easily the worst province out there.
2022-12-09 0
quebec is not the best province lol. Big mistake
2022-12-09 0
As someone that grew up in Quebec, I have strong objection to it being ranked the best. Unless you're a native French speaker, you're not going to have a great time there.

Quebec in number one? I get that from a tourism standpoint...\nThis is how you tell the people involved in this list were tourists or not from there.\n\nAs someone with parents from Quebec and Ontario, well, I am glad they did not raise me in Quebec...as the case nearly was.\n\nSeeing how my cousins' education went (the fact they were learning stuff in High School that I had known since grade three was something), the taxes, the social short-fallings and the political atmosphere is quite alarming.\nQuebec is not NEARLY as affordable as you make it sound. \nOf my three cousins there one left for Ontario (much more affordable outside of the GTA and Ottawa). One moved out west as job options outside of Montreal and Quebec City are VERY limited for non-government work, and then one remains in Quebec, though plans to leave for reasons above and some more personal/family related ones.\nPlus when you go east of Montreal and the townships you find A LOT of separatist supporters.\n\nThe list would be VERY different this year with some political going-ons. Ontario's rotating issues. Quebec trying to 'considerably discourage' English at all in the province (as well as being the REASON we had a children's cough medication shortage...) Alberta struggling from a crippled energy sector (not just oil, but all thanks to the Federal government) and BC's pending drug policies and related issues.

Quebec? Are you out of your gord? I would move to west coast of British Columbia in a heart beat!
2022-12-08 0
Quebec should have been #10
2022-12-08 0
As someone from Montreal … Quebec is not the best province by a long shot
2022-12-08 0
Québec would be my number 1 too. In smaller towns and regions you can get very good houses for less than $250k. The old historic cities of montreal and quebec are breath-taking and it just feels really nice and cozy to live basically anywhere in the province. There are tons of jobs too and we have cold winters but also nice warm summers and beautiful autumns. The food is great because we get fresh local/regional products from fertile fields. Eating seasonal is the best. And it’s so goddamn safe. In the small town where I grew up, we never locked our doors. Never been robbed. And we’re party people too! Bars close alot later than in other places like Ontario, and people here really love soirées and microbreweries. I’m grateful everyday that I was born in a place where it feels so good to live.

Tray Bien Comontally boo. Jei Shwe Quebec Ley Mon Grand Province a La B.C. NUMEROW 1
2022-12-08 0
Quebec? man that's funny. BC is more than Vancouver and with the nut job they now have as premier who in their right mind would live in Alberta.
2022-12-08 0
Wrong. Quebec is #10, Alberta is #1.
2022-12-08 0
Politically, if you want the most conservative province, go to Alberta. If you want the most liberal province, go to Quebec. I feel like that’s a major factor that decides which provinces are the best
2022-12-08 0
???? Quebec #1? Fat L take, no further elaboration is required
2022-12-07 0
So quebec is the WORST province to live in and I live here. So with racist language laws, the worst health care it is the bottom of the list. And if you can't speak french don't come. You won't get a good job and you will be treated very bad.
2022-12-07 0
Really? Quebec? Like one of the worst provinces in Canada? I would never think this could be rated #1, maybe #6 - not even top 5.
2022-12-07 0
How come so many people from Quebec come to Alberta?????
2022-12-07 0
lol, Quebec is the best province as long as Alberta continues to pay for them! Look that one up!
2022-12-07 0
Quebec number 1 bwahahahahaha
2022-12-07 0
i from quebec , BC is #1
2022-12-07 0
Quebec should be removed from Canada
2022-12-07 0
lol f right off, Quebec is literally the worse place to live in Canada. GO anywhere else, youll be better off. Quebec only wants 54% of your revenue plus 15% sales tax.
2022-12-07 0
Quebec is a terrible place filled with awful people. ??
2022-12-07 0
Every single Albertan is about to start rioting after being placed under Quebec
2022-12-07 0
Let's be honest, you can live in Quebec even if you speak only english as long as you work in Montreal city or very close. I highly recommend to learn french but it still possible without it. Most of people born in Quebec like me got to learn english, being surrounded by english nations don't give to much choices, need to learn english to get better careers. Most of poeple living in Montreal area speak french and english.
2022-12-06 0
so the best one is the only french one!!!!! ,of course but one thing is weird why only quebec speak the 2 official languages ?????? and all the others don't ???????? i'm just asking
2022-12-06 0
It has to be quebec French otherwise don't bother from what i kno.
2022-12-06 0
Quebec can eat a big bag of shit, they're the best because we do all the work and make all the money out west and they then take it all and as payment for all the money we give them they fuck us over, Republic Of West Canada represent
2022-12-05 0
Alberta is #1 as Quebec isn’t part of Canada.
2022-12-05 0
Quebec is cool, but the mountains are pathetic. I've been out west alot and the topography is way better. Mountains AND lakes... I'd move out if i wasn't tied down by my faamily... couldn't just abandon my parents like that..
