Canada vast majority of terrain is EXTREMELY COLD WILDERNESS, WITH VERY FEW CITIES, FULL OF WILD ANIMALS, GREAT FOR FISHING, HUNTING, BUT NOT SUITABLE FOR HUMANS, THAT PLACE IS EXTREMELY OUTRAGEOUSLY COLD. KEEP CANADA FOR THE BEARS AND CARIBUS. BUT FOR PEOPLE TO LIVE THERE? NO. CANADIANS THEMSELVES LIVE THERE FROM APRIL TO SEPTEMBER, THE REST OF THE YEAR THEY ARE IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, ARIZONA, OR FLORIDA, OR ANYWHERE IN THE CARIBBEAN OR LATINAMERICA. THE ONLY EXCEPTION IS VANCOUVER, BUT THE REST OF THAT COUNTRY NOBODY CAN LIVE THERE DURING THE WINTER MONTHS. SO, STOP SPREADING LIES ABOUT CANADA POPULATION, BECAUSE WHAT CANADA NEEDS IS MORE PEOPLE. BUT NOBODY WANTS TO BE THERE - NOT EVEN THE FREAKING CANADIANS!! THAT'S PLACE IS EXTREMELY COLD!!

I’m immigrant from Iraq. Came in 2009 and I can say Canada has immigration problem. There’s no way you are getting these students back to India. When I came to Canada I came because I wanted to make it my second home. A country that I’m willing to actually fight for. These guys are here just to make money and send it back to India. When a store whole operation is run by Indians do you think a Canadian will get hired?

The area of land that is within a reasonable commute of a CBD is fixed. So any increase in population makes every square metre of that land more valuable and more expensive. Supply and demand. Any increase in the cost of housing is anti-baby making.. So importing foreigners discourages the local people from having families.

It is totally about too much population and a failed idea of exponential growth ,more and more people is a joke on us Canadians that does not work for anyone except bankers .We have to stop further immigration ,get it together and build .there is no more room in zToronto or Vancouver .send the immigrants to Regina and Saskatoon where the is room and like my Ukrainian grandparents were send in the 1930 to develop the land and serve a purpose to Canadas further development and future .The current immigration policies are a failed joke ,on us .

I live in rural Atlantic Canada. There is lots and lots of land not being used. People driving long distances from their huge single family home to get to town or the city. If no Canadians are moving to the country side to start homesteads, then why not immigrants. I don't see the point of someone moving to a local small town to work in a Tim Hortons or not if there is no job available and buy franken foods from huge corporations. Instead if some immigrants want a homesteading life (some probably would), give people grants to make apartments in their huge single family farmhouses left from the days when people had ten kids, and subdivide their land so the new people can farm it. The local people can get rent money and payment for the subdivision and still have a large plot of land left over). Grow the local farmers markets! Grow the small towns to what they were 100 years ago! Make it so people only had to drive to the city when they wanted to, not for work. There is so so much empty land out here used for massive lawns.

I like multiculturalism and this country is founded on immigration. Even if you study stats from government subsidized housing, most immigrants work and get out of help but the old immigrants (whites) usually don't flip out of the situation for generations. So there is no reason to tie and blame the Indians for our old problem of homeless population. Stay on point and stop tying it down with non-related issues.

I landed in Edmonton 2003 as a immigrant and it was a such nice country back then, rental price is very reasonable. Since Justin became premier, everything got worse, high inflation and less job makes Canada no more a affordable country for Canadians. So it is time to change

I'm Italian and seeing this title I can't help but laugh. First of all, Canada belongs to the natives of the country, that doesn't include us, Europeans or anyone else. Native Canadians have a reason to be against us taking their land.

This would only make sense to me if we weren't sitting on stolen land and if the West didn't mess up other parts of the world for our benefit. nothing such thing ,you can see in usa. This is a utter stupid laws in canada, the tenants can enjoy without paying rents for even for years. I don't know what the hell of all these laws where they found such laws on this planet. The tenants never know the value of the property. most of them are all on welfare and child tax benefits. mainly they are cooking and sleeping 24/7 and damaging the property too. if you go to land lord tenants board. they are other stupid. they don't know how a landlord is suffering by all these stupid tenants.

Some people like to dunk on landlords but they forget that landlords do this as a means to make money just like any other job. As someone who also owns land, I know the frustrations of when a tenant doesn't adhere to the rules and uses the law to their advantage. It's gross. There are other people and even families who would want to have a roof over their heads yet selfish exploiters prevent such people from having a place to call home.
