I was fortunate to relocate to the Canada a few years ago. Witnessing the social issues exacerbated by ineffective immigration policies, I can understand why Canadians might feel frustrated. I'm always eager to engage with the community, but I found that many Canadians are reluctant to discuss politics or care about what is going on in their neighborhoods, and the voting rate in city elections are very low. A few months ago, I shared a city government survey designed to collect residents' opinions about the next 5-year development plan with some friends, but only one out of five showed interest in participating.\nI hope that more Canadians will take advantage of their democratic system to drive change and shape her into the country they want to live in. Back in my home country, we couldn’t vote for our government, so having democracy is a privilege—please use it wisely while you can!\nNote: I am grateful that the Canadians I’ve met have been very welcoming.

Think it's more the massive volume of immigration to Canada that has people becoming concerned. Immigration for decades has been one-way --- into Western nations. Entire communities, cities and even regions have changed demographically so much, in such a short period of time.

The banks lobby the government to bring in more people while housing skyrockets pushing out 7+ gen Canadians and our communities within cities get overrun with Indians/Chinese as we continue to lose our British and French heritage in these areas.

People don't like seeing actual Canadians from here for generations being outnumbered in their own cities

Please ban newcomers from living in Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver for the first five years or until they gain their citizenship. Populate other cities and provinces.

I travel in various cities across Canada . And I can tell you the amount of refugees staying in hotels where I stayed is staggering. They have breakfast and stuff their bags with extra food for the day. Some told me they stayed in for 2 months and walk to every store , buisnesses, and factories looking for jobs.

For every hundred people who are looking for the same job there is sn employment problem. For every hundred people looking for the same apartment you have a rental problem. For every hundred people looking to buy the same house there's going to be a housing problem. For every hundred people looking to take the same thing as the other hundred people you have a society with a big problem. In many cities daycare is a big problem because of the number of new people coming into the country and replacing those who are already in line for social services. Language services replace the priority of local citizens who have to move to the sidelines in order for new comers can be equal but when too many people are coming into the country things will never be equal. Anyone coming to Canada must be fluent in English so as to not put a strain on local social services..

Canada has enough infrastructure, the real problem is the young immigrants from the canadian prairies who move to toronto and other major cities. They leave their grandparents in small towns unable to farm. They are drain to the government pension

My grandparents on my mom's side came over from Scotland after WW2. They bought one of the cheap plots that were available then, but then my grandfather BUILT their house. He was a tradesman (dual carpentry/electrician certified). Lots of that house is still original, with occasionally new paint, and looks new.\n\nFast forward 75 years and we're importing Business Majors and IT specialists to cities that need construction workers and trades people. The houses being built start falling apart before you finalize the paper work. If you DO have the skills and desire to build something yourself, there's a lengthy approval process ahead of you just to get started.\n\nHope you didn't come here with a medical degree, or a specialized certification. That's another long process to be approved to work here. Doesn't matter if you came from rural China or you worked in the US at a major hospital. \n\nLawyers, lobbyists, politicians, and landlords have destroyed the Canadian dream, and we're all sick and tired of it. I have a lot of sympathy for immigrants sold a lie, who come here and end up homeless or worse, but we can't stop what's happening abroad. We can only change what we do here.

To be honest you could build 10 new cities between Windsor and Toronto along the 401 without encroaching too much on productive farm land. Same with the 407.

We bought are house in 2000, my boys one born here and they grew here, there are white Canadians with University degree and they can’t find job here!! Everything is been taking over by Indians! My sons have to drive long distance to work!! And other thing that algoma “university “ was the excuse to move a lot of students into neighborhood , taking family houses and put 12 and more inside and WE have to pay high taxes!! I was doing some comparative research on violent crime statistics because my home town of Winnipeg gets such a bad rap in Canada as the nation's most crime-ridden major city. So I did some looking into US cities of roughly the same size and crime stats. As it turns out, Winnipeg is the same as Seattle. Ever hear an American bitch about the crime in Seattle?
