As someone who had to take the English assessment to attain the PGWP, I complained so much because I didn't come to Canada not knowing English, and I certainly did not graduate without the ability to read, write, listen and even present business cases in English. It pissed me off at the time cause he costs hundreds of dollars for something I was assessed on before even coming to the country. Did they really think my English got poorer after 3 years in the country? \n\nBut I totally get your point why its needed now with the way things are. It could work in an economy not dependent on excess and consumerism, but the US economy is propped up on speculation and buying out of want rather than need. The problem with here is also with Khalistan issue (of course not all Punjabis there want Khalistan and are absolutely chill people and people here in India, Punjabis, also don't want Khalistan, I have some close friends who are Sikh and are most Dildaar, Big-hearted, people I know). I'm a US citizen living in Honduras. I'm sorry, because this is unrelated, but I want to let people know..... Today I was condemned to fight cancer alone. When my cancer was discovered for the first time, it was because I had seizures. Because of this, I can't drive. Because I can't drive, I can't get a decent job in The US. For a spousal visa, you need to have a certain amount of money. I don't have it. No matter that we have it together - being the citizen, that responsibility is solely on me. A humanitarian visa is $730, and only good for one use. We can't afford that. We went for a tourist visa, with a emergency appointment. They approved the emergency appointment, then promptly denied my husband's visa, without even asking him WHY he wanted to go to The US. Fighting cancer alone is exhausting. Why is that not a good enough reason for my husband to go to The US with me? Only for my appointments. Why is that not good enough? I guess he'll meet my family at my funeral, but not before.

What these people have to realize is that is that as non citizens you have very few rights. You as a visitor have to have an exit plan. Not us. No Canadian said to students or any immigrants that they are guaranteed citizenship once school is completed. Canadian citizens are without work , living on the streets, eating from food banks.
