Ok I need some help understanding this. If it’s a dumb idea for the US then why isn’t it a dumb idea for Canada too? As I understand it, the US tariffs mean things imported from Canada get a few slapped on top and that is paid by Americans, to discourage them from buying Canadians things. Why wouldn’t Canada continue importing US things as before and not put extra fees on top, so they don’t have to find new suppliers and cause disruption? Then it is just America punching itself in the face not both of them.

The United States doesn’t want tariffs,Trump wants tariffs. We have an idiot for a president that will ruin our economy and try to give Ukraine to Putin. Sorry world I don’t understand how half my country can’t see him for what he is.

Counter tariffs aren't enough. Total embargo on all resource exports. They only have enough reserves to last a few months without massive shortages and price hikes. As a Canadian I’m still not clear on how counter tariffs help Canadians? Won’t this just make things more expensive for us? Shouldn’t we just realign our allies for imports/exports? Canada is not America's ally or friend. Ally/friend suggests equal partner. Canada is America's junior partner, a sidekick at the best.
