Despite the false propaganda (because the Canadian state makes a lot of money from immigration - in order to legally immigrate to Canada, I had to spend 2000-3000 for administrative costs and show $10,000 in cash when entering Canada, plus a $1200 plane ticket) that Canada is one of the best places to live, my experience is that it is one of the worst places to live (and I have lived in both Germany and Cyprus and in my native country which has been devastated by Western sanctions and NATO bombing. Never in the 16 years since I left Canada have I thinking of going back there. I'm sorry, my experience was extremely negative.

If you wanna see where they're hiding the rest of the family refugees I'd be looking into the hotels that are half filled. When I was working in mississauga I couldn't barley even get a room to stay for work.

whatever you are saying that is correct but it is only one side bro, go and just ask international students what they have been promised here in Canada and how they are living here. Even most of the engineers, doctors and other professionals with foreign experience ended up doing general labor or uber driver jobs and even on the basis of their education and work experience they got permanent residency. No one likes to work on these hard jobs but they don't have any other option as most of skilled worker jobs either need their respective field license or Canadian experience. how much fees international student paying, what kind of job they are doing here, living far from family, managing studies and job, how much debt they took to study here and much more sacrifices doing here. Do not say then why came here because applied through legal process and full filled all the necessary criteria. Was it our fault that we dreamed about study and work here in Canada?. I know it is hard for you and your families that they are not getting jobs but don't hate international students. you can only understand anyone if you put yourself in their shoes.

The problem with immigration is the quality of immigrants, this country still needs quality immigrants to fulfill top level positions, in the recent years Canada got flooded with too many international students for various college degrees, as i’ve heard there are some colleges in Toronto which only has one classroom in a building but they have so many students enrolled ? and bringing in more refugees makes the housing and job situation even worse. On the other hand government had to remove the 20hour work cap of international students to run this economy ?

Even in Richmond BC , where the majority of local residents are Chinese Canadian, there are more and more Indian people here. they work as cashiers for Tim Horton and even work as safe guardians for authentic Chinese supermarkets. ?

It's become a nightmare here not just for young people but everyone looking for work. These huge line-ups are not even new. For those who remember when Target opened stores here in Ontario and the massive line-ups for those minimum wage part-time jobs! It was insane. This has been going on for over a decade now. But it's even worse than people realize. They neglect to mention that female students at places like U of T turn to prostitution to survive. Not just a few, a significant percentage! There are entire websites devoted to students looking to prostitute themselves to pay rent and tuition! Wake up people! If government wants to get rich off of people, get our pay higher, don't just shovel more into the fire.

I work in a large industrial complex. Its next to impossible to maintain labor levels. Not just at our facility but most others. I really don't think you have much of a handle on reality or even basic economic principles.

We have a job shortage, not a labour shortage. In addition to the international students, the liberals created many special immigration pathways, one of which issues to almost everyone in Hong Kong a 3year work permit followed by a PR giveaway. These Hong Kong people are highly educated and skilled, but some of them I met said it is very difficult to find a job in Canada now. They have to accept a junior position with 6 years of experience or even work a survival job. The reasons that keep them here are cheaper house price and can stay away from China and they are gladly being lowballed. Helping people is a good thing but I feel that our young people are being sold, I've heard from many of them who cannot find a job recently.

It's a double edged sword. The industry (fast food, food retailing, services) WANT those people, be it international students, refugees or other to work because there is insufficient response from the local population of young people. Even certain restaurants and hotels had to remain CLOSED after the pandemic, because they could not find enough people to work. The government covid money dissuaded the local population from working. It is a huge mistake to admit so many Indian students attending low-credentialed private colleges and then allow them to work 20-30 hours a week. Trudeau and Miller are to blame for this. But at the same time, there was a labour shortage due to the ageging population and the fact that people have fewer kids today. Canada should give greater priority to trained professionals in areas where there is a need, such as construction, education and nursing. People in India, China, eastern Europe and other countries can get very good training in technical colleges, but it is the wealthy families in these countries that don't want their kids working these jobs.

I'm all for bringing in the 'skills & talent' with new immigrants. My country is planning on opening up to Indian immigrants at the end of the year. People are outraged as our society cares a lot about cleanliness and manners which India is not really known for. I was told twice ( unofficially by employees) while applying for work that I should not put my hopes too high cause even tho I was qualified I was not part of a minority or had a disability ! It took me a long list of application and lots of time to finally get a minimum wage job !! It’s disheartening and discouraging and maddening !! P.S. I did attend college so I do have an education like a majority of Canadians and it’s still not enough !

Huge liers. Canadians want to work. I have 27 grandkids 5 to young for work force. Having a hell of a time getting even minimum wage jobs. My kids are all college degrees from border patrol to medical working in factories cause there is no available jobs in their wasted college degrees. So I call BS lieing liberals.

Well now foreign students can work as many hours as they want now. So they used to be capped at 20 hours a week to Joe unlimited hours, thus making it even harder for a Canadian kid or student trying to find a job.

Even right now with the Trudeau government you really can’t make enough money to survive but you have to try.

I can total relate to that in terms of making new friends. Even though I studied here for both my undergrad and Masters, many of my old friends and classmates at school are working in different places so I hardly have many familiar people known around me. Also due to the nature of my remote working job, it's just so hard to meet someone with close connection and relationships with as before.

we can’t even house our own people on the streets or continue to create jobs for those already here. Being a youth from small town Alberta, unable to land work, seeing our local job market being bought up by immigrants and seeing those jobs handed right to their family members is disheartening. Immigrants receive a median pay of $44,600 while the median of the Canadian born population is $38,800. This is Trudeaus Canada where Canadians aren’t even the priority anymore.

I have lived in canada my whole life. \nHere are the main hurdles:\n1. Cost of realestate and cost of living. You need white collar wages just to be able to rent, not buy, rent an apartment in most major cities. Cost of homes is insane as well.\n2. Jobs often pay low wages below what is needed to afford to live unless its white collar or trades working overtime hours. The jobs that do pay well often get hundreds of applications making your chances lower.\n3. Dentists cost an arm and a leg. The cost of it is insane unless you have a really good coverage plan from your job. \n4. Healthcare moves at a snails pace. Not good if you have a serious illness or disease.\n5. The climate overall sucks. Its not cold. Its ridiculously cold.\n\nMy advice: Be made of money. \nSeriously though, have a huge savings and have a long term financial plan. Getting jobs that pay a living wage here as newcomers here are HARD to get because they always want Canadian work experience. University education from other countries other than the US, UK, or Australia don't count here. Students who come from certain countries (you know where) come to look for free food and free benefits from Canada. I work at a well known university and see them come for food bank the first day they landed. Even some came to complain that their grants got cut (of course, coz they never finish the thesis) and demanded for financial support as they need to pay for family expenses including car loan!! Wtf is car loan??? If you wonder where are these students from…you guess it’s right. We see them everywhere.

well housing and for health care cost of living. the new middle class to live comfortable afford rent groceries car payments and to have some saving need to make at least 11k a month after taxes 11k a month after taxes is like 200k in canada for health care to even see a doctor sure ok we get referral but that referral takes 8 months to go and see an referral. i worked 2 full time jobs in the trades to try and get ahead that 2 full time trade mens jobs and i looked at my taxes was 5 months of income in taxes. so i quit one job. i ncanada your penealized for working harder when there is a single mom who has no job has 4 kdis making 5k a month from child benefits and welfare

Its a lose-lose situation. The immigrants dont realize that the citizens have zero incentive to help them because they will be putting their own children's future at risk. When i was 16, I could find an entry level job. Now, the kids cant even find a job because its filled with literally the lowest common denominator (3rd world immigrants mostly India) and they wont hire anyone who isnt Indian. What India doesnt realize is that the government has lied to them because we, the citizens, do not advocate for having what little work is left taken by people who are just DEI hires. As a Canadian, I only support citizen-ran business and nothing corporate.

CANADA BRINGS IN THE CREAM FROM THE WORLD BUT THEY DON'T UTILIZE IT. THEY JUST THROW THE TALENTS OUT OF THE DOOR. DOCTORS AND ENGINEERS ARE WORKING AT McDONALDS AND DRIVING TAXIES TO PUT FOOD ON THE TABLE. THERE ARE STUPID RED TAPES AT EVERY STEP. EVEN AFTER GETTING CANADIAN DEGREES, ONE IS FACING AN UPHILL TASK TO GET A JOB AS THIS COUNTRY HAS A VERY, VERY BIG PROBLEM OF RACISM AND PREJUDICE. Right now is probably the worst time to come here. With global recession and post-pandemic hardship, everyone is feeling the pinch. Small businesses are closing down as they could not repay back the relief loans given by the government during the pandemic. Trudeau’s policy of immigration through the educational stream and admitting so many refugees from Syria and Ukraine have caused massive rent increase - too many people chasing after lower real estate supply. Because people are feeling the pinch, crimes are up and homelessness has become a serious issue. But, here are the (long-term) advantages of living here, vs. The Philippines:\n- free healthcare - no matter how rich you are back home, wealth can be depleted if a major illness strikes;\n- free education for your kids up to highschool and opportunity for your kids to enter worldclass universities after highschool;\n- government programs that actually work - Worker rights are upheld, doleouts when you lose your job, 12-month mat/paternity leave, doleout/govt match when you save for yr kid’s university educ, tax rebates for whatever you save for retirement, retirement income even if you never held a job, infrastructures are maintained, transparency and stability of political system; \n- safer environment - yes, greater crimes lately, but still one of the safest places to live. I live in greater Toronto, and sometimes we forget to lock our door at night or leave a bicycle outside and nothing happens;\n- commitment to the environment - the country adheres to protecting the envt. You can drink water from the faucet. Strict laws on recycling and waste disposal. Greenbelt protection on forest and conservation park areas, even in the cities. Canada also has the world’s biggest water supply...in today’s global climate change, were decades away from water wars;\n- a beautiful country with friendly, humble and relaxed people who observe work-life balance

Cause of carbon tax gas is expensive food is expensive homes prices are insane and thats ontop of inflation already, hard to find even a apartment because of all the immigrants, feels like i live in India and the middle east when I go outside. \nCanada for the middle class just feels like a place to work and pay bills, and is a shadow of it's former self.

Ive lived in Canada my entire life, and I am desperate to leave the country to make a better life for my family. The sad thing is, I dont see how I will ever be able to afford to leave. With two jobs working seven days a week, I cannot afford to pay all of my bills every month. I dont even own a house.

I was born and raised here. I am doing my exit plan as I cannot afford to live here as young-adult living on my own. The government knew exactly what they were doing when they allowed 9 million people to come here in a short amount of time. How can you provide billions for foreign aid but can't provide basic necessities to your own citizens? I have cut EVERYTHING extra out of my life and even while working a full-time job I cannot survive in my own country. Canada is a country for the elite, cliche style immigrants, and for the ultra wealthy who pass down intergeneration wealth. A failed health care system that provides little to no services at which you pay out of pocket to get access with private health care providers. You can't depend on transit as it is the mercy of the corrupt transportation/commissioners aka unions and the cost of gas is out of this world. I AM SO LUCKY I went to university and graduated when I did because the same degree would have cost 15k-20k more...food is super expensive...renting an apartment is seen as a form of luxury....you have to know someone to get basic things done. What a shameful society...a society that treats immigrants with upmost respect only to turn around looking the other way when it comes to homelessness...the housing crises...lack of employment oppts, gosh I can go on. My brother was lucky enough to move to Dubai and cash in on his savings by investing it into his properties where he pays 0 tax on his salary from his job.
