most newcomers to any country struggle especially since most are not bringing in wads of cash to start a business but literally scraping in using life savings just to get here - however once here with residential status a national health care and level of income security for unemployment benefits is an added bonus which you won't get in every country regardless of residency status but refugees and others come in with no money at all as well as problems in some cases with language barriers, but as bad as everyone thinks it is the grass is not greener on the other side just because you're paying lower taxes but privatising infrastructure only makes things more expensive even when you're not taxed.... and Canada is a huge country with very limited number of tax payers such a small market would double costs for private business too - and just cos things may be cheaper you may find you don't fit as well as you thought..... and also the more you move the less time you have to settle and grow into the space you find yourself now....I've lived in 3 very different countries so I understand how difficult it is.... and how some places regardless of cost just fit better than others.... I love Toronto... but would not want to live in Vancouver or Texas for very different reasons... and don't judge a city by people who don't know how privileged they are to live in Toronto or anywhere in Canada really they should try living in India or Russia or even South Africa... places may be cheap but the lifestyle isn't worth much as a result of being failed states - even USA is falling apart road by road bridge by bridge.....of course there's hope for all of them eventually.... but if you don't like it it's probably best you leave.... if you don't want Canada why would Canada want you.... your just bringing the nation into disrepute

Well…I will say it. I live in sk Canada. Bought my first home in a good area in 2017. Indias Indians bought the three home around me and now have probably 13 people living in each home. Yards or gross and messy, they are rude as fuck and have horrid hygiene. I hate it, I hate my home now, hate the city I live in…… Ute become crowded and gross

Eh, yes, this is wrong but I live by Indians and they are the most annoying pieces of crap I have ever had to deal with. Openly take dumps in the park, wipe child's butt with t-shirt they are selling, return used under-wear, things 10 years old, expired coupons, do 30 mph on highway, 40 mph by busy-cross walk with people crossing, hit into me 3 times in a car (their fault), smell up everywhere, sit on MY car with their butts and hang out on it, I don't even have all night to go on and on....Disgusting pieces of ****\n\nNot it's not ALL of them, but I've never seen a high percentage of people be so uncivilized. I don't know.... I live in Montreal and I don't see recent newcomers as poor victims (I'm talking about most immigrants applying for refugee status) . \nWhy? \n1. In order to reach North America , one has to either cross the Atlantic or Pacific Ocean or cross huge chunks of land from Central or South America .... and that's really expensive. In Europe, since the coast of Africa is very close to Europe's , boats full of destitute and desperate people might be the norm. Not in North America. \n2. most of those guys arrive in North America looking for work \n3. most newcomers do possess smart phones and they know how to use them. They have their own network of friends and they're always on the lookout for good opportunities. \n4. most newcomers are very, very mobile. If they're having trouble finding work in Montreal and they need truck drivers somewhere else.... they'll go there . A new hospital needs aid personnel? They'll be there ready for hard work. \nThe positives ? They're probably working , making money and paying taxes. \nThe negative side? They're for the most part economic immigrants. It seems to me like most will have a hard time convincing immigration judges that they are actually refugees (economic refugees? if you will? ). \nMy take ? The way Federal Government deals with immigration should be changed. I believe that if immigrants already work here and are taxpayers... they should have working visas (at least temporarily). \nUndocumented criminal caught in the act of committing a crime? Immediate deportation (and I know this is obviously a lot easier said than done). \nMore airport screening at the entrance and more border security.

People mistakenly believe that Canada is a country. Canada is not and has never been a country. Canada is and has always been a business venture. A business venture that originated in Europe several hundred years ago. A business venture that required employees to develop. Incentives were given to Europeans to come to Canada for this purpose. Those incentives included things like; a higher standard of living, gainful employment, the opportunity to own real estate, freedoms that didn't exist in Europe. Europeans accepted that offer. Came to Canada and built the infrastructure that currently exists in Canada. This development project is now complete. I don't know who made this decision, but it appears to have been decided that the maintenance of this project will fall to Asia going forward. We are seeing this transition unfolding. This was probably decided since those of European descent would never tolerate the authoritarian neo-feudalist dystopia that they have in mind for this country. It is now time for Europeans to return home to Europe. The job is done. I no longer recognize nor relate to this country. I feel like I am in a foreign country. There is no longer a place for me here. I plan to flee back to Europe as soon as it is financially viable to do so.

Canada is very expensive. One of my friend who had moved there with her husband and is employed and well paid as usual in IT industry says it is much more difficult even with double salary on the higher levels to sustain in parts of Canada like Vancouver as the prices are extremely high including rental and commodity prices.\n\nI had tried for Canada but could not gather enough points due to my age, probably it has turned out a blessing

i grew up in Brampton 20 years ago, a child of Caribbean parents. Whenever I go back I can say Yes, Brampton has changed over the years. I also remember that white/Canadian people were always the population struggling with substance abuse- particularly in the downtown area. Conflating the influx of indians with the downturn of white canadians seems to just fuel animosity and scape goat the issue onto a population of people that's probably just trying to seek a better life. why not ask the government to provide better social programs for those in need rather than fueling hate ? Why not investigate the structural issues that have contributed to this situation i.e. politicians gaining votes by doing xyz, or look into what people may be facing in the homelands? That would be a better piece of journalism imo. I think this video is highlighting this issue in ways history has seen before... can't we do better?

If you are a poor, or lower class person, Canada is definitely far more affordable than the United States. However, if you are wealthy and doing well financially in general, then the United States is probably a bit better.

Just saying, Quebec, for some reason, decided to have his own tax so Quebec citizens have to pay up to 15% in taxes (Federal and Provincial combined) that probably one of the downsides of living here.

As soon as you land in Canada, get your information straight. Know why you are here, where you will be staying and for how long. Do not approach the border officers with fear or panic as this video is trying to make you feel.Canada doesn’t just set people aside for deportation at the airport. Once you land in Canada you are protected by Canadian law and international law on immigrants . A visa officer will not warn you of overstaying your visa (if you overstay you won’t be granted visa next time) no officer will tell you that. That’s not their job. People can be set aside for proper screening or scrutiny but that doesn’t mean they are being set aside for deportation. Deportation has a procedure and it’s a costly process even for the Canadian government.These are assumptions. You are exaggerating! Don’t be afraid people, Canada is a beautiful and welcoming country. Information on your application has to match information you give in your questioning. If they don’t match then suspicion is aroused.Even if it doesn’t , they are so many explanations you can give as to why ( stress, airsick,tired, confused ,hungry cus of the long flight) officers will give you time to cool off and come to you later. If it gets to the worst, invoke your rights as an international immigrant and ask for entry to Canada being a safe country as a refugee claimant . Officers can’t deport you if you claim asylum at the border, they have to follow due process and your case must be heard by a judge. Create information, not fear!
