My wife and I moved to Canada about a decade ago from post-Soviet states, where we both grew up with not much more than our smarts and a strong work ethic. When we arrived, adapting/integrating Canadian values, especially work ethics, was a big deal for us. Those first few years were tough, we really had to hustle to improve our lives. Now, a decade later, we're both in pretty solid tech and science jobs. Our child had the incredible privilege of being born in Canada, and that fills me with immense joy.\n\nIt wasn't just our own grit that got us where we are now; we owe a lot to the incredibly welcoming Canadians we met along the way. I'm thankful every day for the awesome, kind-hearted folks we've met. Canadians are truly some of the best people around, and despite lots and lots of issues, Canada is one of the greatest countries in the world. I know this because I've lived and worked across many countries on many continents . We, Canadians, need to keep working to make it even better. I'm proud to be a Canadian immigrant. God bless my fellow Canadians.

I don't care about a person's race or background stop letting people into our country and help our people first. A country should come first before helping others out. If another country is under threat of invasion then help them out. When you have tyrants like putin or leaders bent on power you wonder why people leave their countries because those countries aren't taking care of their people properly. We've strayed too far off the right path and I blame JT he has failed this country. I have zero hope of ever owning a house or retirement I can't even get a family doctor. What these immigrants are doing are immigrants that are permanent residents east Indians for example have been getting their relatives to move in with them from India they all fill that house pool their money together buy a house and move those said relatives into that house and it's a never ending cycle.

I have been in Canada for 28 years, as an Immigrant myself, i can tell you, you don't need to be a born canadian to see the spike of immigration and changes that happened to this country as a result from that. i went to Niagara Falls last year, i couldn't move around due to the flood of sooooo many people. i understand that it is a touristic place, but the only tourists i saw are coming from India or pakistan. and i doubt that they flew from there. and before calling racist or anything, i am brown too... the latest idea in my head, is to go back home. if i went across an ocean to find the same people that i left, what is the point ?!, i just go back and have them as neighbors....

We recently moved from Switzerland to BC Canada and to be honest, we somehow regret it because it feels like it's a big downgrade. Maybe we are still transitioning but seeing homeless people, drug addicts and litter everywhere almost every time we go out are way too shocking. We've never seen these in Switzerland and not even this much in every country we've lived and traveled at. We are questioning if it's safe to even stay here for a year. And the taxes, it's ridiculous really! The average income tax in Switzerland is only 11-12 percent, less than half of Canada.

According to the news we broke 40 Million residents in Canada in the new year. They just announced that the Canadian population is already at 41 million as of last week. How can we absorb this many people. I would say the majority are from India. A lot of these new residents are amazing. But hear me out......For more than 70 years Canada has accepted diverse immigrants from around the world. These immigrants have always had challenges with acceptance and integration as they bought homes and had families and raised children to be Canadians. But these immigrants are economic migrants. They don't want to be Canadians like they used to. They want the PR, and the citizenship. But they want to work and move all that money out of Canada back to India. Then when they retire, they themselves will dump all their Canadian assets and move to India where cost of living and home ownership is exceedingly less expensive. Even their federal government pension plan money will move out of the country. I'll be totally truthful...MY perception of these economic migrants is that THEY HATE US. In India they are educated, come from Middle class and upper middleclass families. They want the PR and Citizenship so they can eventually pull their entire family from India over to Canada. But they have to Work at Burger king or Tim Hortons when they arrive. And the HATE and resent Canadians for it. \n Canada allows people to keep their foreign passports and citizenship. There are 300,000 people with Canadian citizenship living in Hong Kong, There are 450,000 people with Canadian citizenship living in Lebanon with a War about to expand across the border. We cannot continue with this.....every time one of these places destabilizes they end up on the CBC waiving their Canadian passports demanding the Canadian government do something to get them out. \n The Author of the video is correct. IT isn't about hate or xenophobia...Its about making sure that people who come here want to be here, Are taken care of properly, contribute to Canada and its development, integrate into out society and culture, and do not make life harder for the people - ALL OF THEM - already here.

I've never been to India but it's clear that it's a real garbage country because majority of its citizens want to flee and move to 1st world countries. The irony is these Fleeing Indians wants to turn the new country to a 2nd India lol.

I moved home to Canada after 20 years living and working in 5 countries. I am so grateful to be home. I am sorry some people leave but I can truthfully say that it is better here. Taxes are less than Scandinavia. Less than France or UK. Same prob with lack of Doctor's everywhere. Sorry ladies, you seem lovely but you are wrong. Just saying. it;s such a shame, i was in vancouver, bc for 1 month from sydney, australia and honestly the country and city is really so nice, i would love to move there but i really learnt quick that vancouver and my home city of sydney are twins with the economic downfall and cost of living crisis, also heavily taxed, and proof is on the pudding now with sydney and vancouver being direct 2nd and 3rd most unaffordable and expensive cities on the planet right now as we speak in 2024, such a shame

I'm sick of this. Nobody wants to get a job which has elite future prospects. Earlier, people used to move only when they proved something on paper, with full credibility. But now, they just wanna do labour stuff, no good knowledge no plan. Just don't spoil the name of our country. Only the deserved ones should go.

Indian immigrants are destroying everywhere they go to. Pay a visit to Brampton or Surrey which are the two Canadian cities with vastly majority Indians. 80-90% of the population. Go and see for yourself the ghettoes they are. Plenty of vidoes on the internet with Indians involved in gangs, traffic violence, house break-ins... if you are moving to another country respect the laws, assimilate the culture and be productive to the society. Canadian people are also migrating to other countries. In today's world, moving from one country to another country has become a tendency. The situation is getting out of control and on top of that the infrastructure is also unable to hold all of them. The capacity is full so, proper management and strategy is needed to solve this issue.

Toll on students? I’m confused. Say it will take 75 years to pay off their debt? Then don’t come to Canada. If you are rich come to Canada. Want to get an education in a foreign country. Don’t expect a job. Don’t expect privileges if you aren’t Canadian. Seriously is this a shock? Don’t send your kids if you can’t afford it. Don’t expect to move to Canada and get Canadians to pay. I came from France back in 2015 whith my familly when Harper was still prime minister at the time , really I'd say things have been really great , my family and I have worked hard to get to where we are today and have always wanted to give back to our community here but I am disgusted to see in 2024 what Trudeau has done to the country and to see that immigration is no longer as prestigious as it used to be. Unlike some people we have today, I had to wait 3 years with my family before receiving approval to move to Canada (after so many exams, appointments and waiting times). I did my middle school here until college and I'm currently still looking for work in correctional and when I see that people arrive here afterwards without being permanent residents, who are literally flooding spots at colleges/university and also jobs that are normally open for young canadians in their 15-16 (When I was in high school, my first job was at a McDonald's, and without exception, everyone there was Canadian. Today, when I go back to the same McDonald's for a cheeseburger every now and then, the entire staff is nothing but Indians) .As a person with an immigrant background, I'm the first one to say that there's a very big problem in Canada, and that current immigration, mainly from India, is no longer for economic reasons but to reunite families.(They do not, and will never, assimilate into Canadian culture.)Now that I've grown up in Canada for almost half my life, I'm already thinking about either returning to France or start over somewhere else if nothing changes.\n\nThe Trudeau government, uncontrolled immigration, dangerous idelogies from extreme far left idea, rising unemployment, and economic misery getting worse every day , gradually pushes me away from the country I love, Oh Canada.

The G7 has made such a mess of other countries that they've made it unlivable there that's why people move to the G7 nations for a better life. Citizens of G7 nations need to get involved in their government to know of the oppression G7 nations support. G7 stop funding bad leaders else where.

Essentially, they are finding ways to exploit their entry into the country, unlike my parents who had to wait patiently for years to come to Canada. I belong to an ethnic group. In the 1960s, when my parents immigrated to Canada, only a limited number of people from our ethnic group were allowed in. My parents were compelled to assimilate into Canadian culture to make friends. I had hoped to marry someone from my own ethnic group, but there were few eligible women. Therefore, both my brothers and I married Anglo-Saxon women. While I take pride in my parents' background, I do not live in a segregated community of my own kind. Instead, I reside in a mixed area and have no intention of bringing over 100,000 people from my village back home to Canada. Canada needs to restrict immigration until we get a handle on our housing and social services levels. Also, not all new immigrants should be allowed to move to Toronto or Vancouver. They should be sent to live in provinces such as Saskatchewan or Manitoba for the first 10 years. I am sure they need skilled workers. Also, would be forced to assimilate like my family did back in the 1960s because there would not be a massive enclave from their own culture in one area. Also, the reason my parents moved to Canada was their former country was Balkanized into different ethnic groups that exploded into a massive civil war. Canada might be in danger of that in the future. Certain ethnic groups don't tolerate certain policies that have happened in Canada. When they get to a large enough number all hell will break lose as they will have to culture and political power to fight back.

To be honest this is not just a Canada problem, I work in recruitment in Canada across from Ontario to Vancouver remotely from South Africa. Its pretty much the same here. Most people live paycheck to paycheck. I manage to save despite also studying still and working, and life, but if i was working like my peers jobs here. I'd still live at 33 at my parents. That a lot of people do. \n\nI think its an international issue. But the reasons like safety, winter and cold, religion, definitely look at asian countries for sure. \n\nWent to Vietnam last year, the level of safety was amazing there, if you could keep Salary from Canada and move to a country like that you can live extremely comfortable.

As a born canadian, with all the stuff going on. im tempted more and more to move to Alaska. Our country used to be beautiful, it still is but i'm so ashamed of what it's become

I say this with a great deal of cynicism but I don’t think we will be able to halt mass immigration, and the reason is old people. Old people vote, and they have money. Politicians respond to the people with money. My parents are in their 80’s and they spend $7000 per month on their retirement home. I’m renting an apartment because I can’t afford a home in Victoria. The cheapest house here sells for $700,000. And so I’ve no intention of getting married or having kids. It’s clear to me that this is happening all over Canada. The death rate exceeds the birth rate. There is something odd about this state of affairs. Immigrants are pouring into the country and moving into multigenerational houses. They’re getting married and raising kids. Two or three generations live together under one roof. Meanwhile, the picture is different with white Canadians who have been here over a hundred years. Older, white Canadians are spending $7000 per month on assisted living retirement homes. Their children are single and renting apartments. We are living in clown world.

Costs have gone to far average Canadians living on poverty I’m retiring soon but can’t afford to retire in my own country and must move to another country to live above the poverty level with taxes so high which will take 25% of my pensions if I move out of Canada ! Even though I will not be using in services of Canada !? One point is correct mainly to flood the labour pool and keep wages to low forcing many average Canadians living in poverty and of course the expansion of food banks for Canadians trying to keep up to the high cost of living including higher taxes and the foolish so called Carbon Tax another tax grab !

Why is Pierre afraid of the immigrant issue? I think - that they will all be labeled of being racists because they don't want other cultures and more people in the country. That's what it is. OR maybe - Conservatives are trying to figure out a plan to deal with this and aren't showing their cards at the moment. LIberals want the votes and more people to live off the government tit but we need more skills trades, more hands on - more doctors and nurses!! If the immigrants have that background and actually have the education and compassion then bring them in. If not, then sorry, there's no where for you to go. Part-time burger flippers, coffee pourers, cashiers, etc... are excellent jobs for teenagers to learn and earn money and move up from there. Back in the late 70s and 80s into the early 90s, retail jobs were an excellent supplement income for a family and or single person because it was worth it - today, not so much.

My partner have been in Canada since 2021 and he came there on study visa. While applying for the permit, every student promise to IRCC that they will leave Canada once they finish the study though everyone who comes on study visa aims to be permanent residents later. However both me and my partner think and accept that *PR is not a right that we could fight or protest for.* The Candian govt does not owe a PR promise to any international students. If we are lucky enough to get the PR, well, we are blessed and it's a favour offered by the Govt. of Canada. Anybody applying for any forms of temporary residence in the country are obliged to accept the rules and regulations and policies associated with their stay. If we will not get PR in the future, we will leave the country with All due respect to every opportunities and fortunes that this country has given us. No offense. Also when you move and settle in another country respect their culture and don't ever try to showcase the culture and practices of your home country if it will not be welcomed by the native people.

It takes 15% of immigrants up to 20 years to realize they've been duped and that the cost of living in Canada is too expensive? I'm surprised that the number of immigrants that choose to leave is not a lot higher, and that they don't do it much sooner. Those with marketable skills (doctorates, degrees, etc) are told by Immigration Canada that the country needs people with their skills. However, it's only AFTER they move here that they find out their foreign credentials are worthless in Canada. It's all a big scam and IC should be ashamed of themselves for selling would-be newcomers a bill of goods.

People crying for lack of jobs, what are your qualifications ? Your are expecting to compete with people from high academic backgrounds with half ass high school diploma, how many of you went back to work during covid or after covid? I think there is not much to do in Canada apart from snow and forests. I think in the past only prisoners were sent there?\nBut I heard this country pay you very well if you move in there, because they cannot find people that want go there actually. 4:54 That's just it. Canada allows a lot of immigration, because there are a lot of entry-level and service jobs that Canadians don't want, or are in a position that they don't have to take them. As I understand it, it all goes back to the province of Quebec. to get Quebec to join Canada, education was made a provincial thing, not a national thing. This means that there is no national education policy in Canada, unlike a lot of comparable nations. This means it is very difficult to plan, and educate the work force to fulfill anticipated needs. The solution? Put it on the list! Immigration Canada has a list of jobs that Canada needs to fill. If you would like to immigrate to Canada, and you have work history or education for something on the list, you're in! This is much easier that investing in Canadians and planning 5-10 years ahead. If we need more nurses...put it on the list! If we need more engineers...put it on the list! If we have too many already...take it off the list. A lot of immigrants are disappointed when they get here, because from the outside, Canada seems great. Yes, it is a very safe country, and has a lot going for it. But people may be surprised to find that they have been allowed into the country, to fill jobs no one else wants. And it's a lot of work to move here from another country, so immigrants tend to get stuck in a bad situation.

If you don't like London move back home. We do not want Shares law in the UK. We brought you in this country with open arms to help you. This is a Christian country we have are own laws. If you don't like it leave.

I don't want to live in a Indian culture in Canada. If I did I'd move to India. Other countries are starting to deport them. Canada should follow suit before it's too late.

Immigration only works when they are willing to assimilate to a reasonable degree. When large numbers of people move to a foreign country and try to change the native culture that's called colonialism. I though the left didn't like that.

For me it was not the cost of living, because I could easily afford it. The city has changed too much, there are too many immigrants now, there is too much crime, too much homelessness. When you start to feel like a foreigner in your own country and the place becomes unrecognizable, then perhaps it's time to consider other options. So like you I looked at my foreign options and it was the best move I'd ever made. For talented, well educated people, who have the courage to move to another country, this could be the best move you ever make, with all kinds of unexpected benefits which await you.

I moved to Canada last year, I repent now .. life was so easy in my country. I cannot think of buying 500 sft house here. The prices are skyrocketing , I cannot think of doing savings .. My life standard was much better back in my country. I think this Canada is thriving on immigrants money.. now that I already have spend my hard earned money from back home into Canada, I am now good for nothing , no use to this country.
