Most Republicans will still argue that the world isn’t overpopulated, but they don’t seem to consider that many countries aren’t nice enough to live in. So if you take all the people and cram them into the areas that are fit to live in and that aren’t overcome by climate change and corruption, are we overpopulated then? Would you want to live in the middle of Nebraska? There’s plenty of space out there. We have to stop producing more humans. We’ve reached a crisis point. Please consider a childfree lifestyle. It’s okay if one or two generations need to suffer in their older years in order to get things under control. We can’t just continue producing more people to pay the Social Security of the upcoming generations. That’s ridonckulous. (I say that as a 49-year-old who will retire in 13 years.) And we need to legalize all drugs so that the drug cartels in Central and South America will die out and these people can live in peace in their own lands.

You have an entire political party pushing racist crap... it happens in every state but it is much worse in Republican states..... I lived in Florida while I went to post secondary school there and I won't go back. Military spending... which also should probably be higher on this list.\n#11. The myth of American exceptionalism.\n#12. American ignorance of the rest of the world, in general.\n#13. The Criminal Code including the Death Penalty, which was eliminated in Canada many years ago.\n#14. Education.\n#15. The drastically increased potential for political violence ever since Trump entered the political arena. This one also should be higher on the list. The United States could not even get through a transfer of power without violence. This is beyond pathetic. The peaceful transition of power is the #1 job of first-world democracies.\n#16. Attitudes toward social problems such as poverty and drug addiction. \n\nNotice that #4 - #7 could be subdivided into more than one reason.\nI thought this list was going to have 5 or 6 items on it.

Health care in the USA is a racket, and people are taught by Republicans that it is folly to care for other people, they don't, Trump doesn't, why would you? In European Union, health care insurance premiums are about US$ 150 per person and it covers everything while our health care is the same or better than in the USA, except for the UK where health care has caved in thanks to Brexit where they sent 93.000 nurses, doctors, dentists, and paramedics packing because they were not born on English soil.

Absolutely NO! Never! Besides all of the gun violence & the shitty health care, after Trump became president and the behavior witnessed during (and after) his presidency, along with the behavior of some republicans, really surprised me and totally turned me off. There’s no professional, no mental competence. Just appalling how politicians act. We all know they lie etc but trump really made the US look stupid. I was embarrassed listening and watching how some acted, and do still act. Nobody acted so trashy before Trump. And I’m not into politics. I’m just really surprised by the attitudes and lack of professionalism. Oh, and the US isn’t as friendly as we are.

As a Canadian I don't mind paying a little more tax to enjoy universal health care. I despize Republicans and their gun culture. D. Trump has ruined America for me and divided the country too much.

Listened carefully to everything that was commented on and I too was a little surprised by what I heard. Being from southern Ontario actually near Buffalo and I am close to the USA but I am glad to be in Canada. Many of my friends go to Florida for the winter. They state that they will politely listen to the politics but never chime in with their opinion. The american political situation is very much like the religious situation with the Irish and the Northern Irish Catholics vs the Protestants. Your political separation borders on insanity. The current republicans lie through their teeth and keep repeating those lies. Listening to the Irish is equally exhausting. When I travel to the United States I am always glad to be home when the trip is over. While in America, I find most people are wonderful and we are always treated very well. If the Republicans snap out of it and the gun lobby loses their grip on the narrative that everyone needs a gun I think the attitude of Canadians might change. One thing for sure I am very happy that big brother is right next door and we will never have to deal with what the Ukrainian people are going through. In that instance I am glad that America keeps improving their weapon systems and their innovations and mass military production. \nI am sure there are many lovely places in the USA but the media focuses on the bad news of the day where violence and shootings and political insanity dominate news. Meanwhile most Americans are enjoying their lives in peace.

Never as a Canadian your country is messed up. As a country we've amended our Charter of Rights and Freedom many times. Your country is in the stone age what gives you the right to carry guns cus it's in your constitution grow tfup. Trump, mass shootings, republican politicians and their supporters, floods, fires, climate change deniers, religious nut jobs, healthcare costs, poor education system, legal costs, racism……I could go on….Not a chance in hell would I move to the US. I have even stopped visiting.

You don’t have Tim Hortons in every neighborhood, your food is weird - I freaked out when I saw chicken in the store, no health care, Hollywood and Disney are trash! TOO MANY GUNS!!! Last trip, to Hilton Head, was confronted by a couple at a social event announcing “we’re Republicans!” Nothing I said stopped the negative flow. Thinking of various unsettling instances I decided to vacation in Europe. Hope to never set foot in US again.

I think the US has beautiful countryside and wonderful scenery and many lovely people, however, because of the divisiveness of the Republicans and the MAGA/Trump/NRA group which has caused such chaos and violence throughout the States during the past decade things in the US have gone downhill extremely quickly. The number one reason Children in the US are dying from is bullets - not accidents or diseases. That is a terrible statistic and the Republicans are doing absolutely nothing to stop it - prayer doesn’t stop bullets. \nAs a Canadian I used to travel to the US as a tourist but I no longer feel safe going there and will no longer go across the border. Florida seems to have implemented the worst political policies ever in its history and I believe it’s economy is going to absolutely crash. \nIf the States votes Republican in the election it’s going to be in its absolute worst possible political, global, financial, economic, and humanitarian position in its history. It will be a critical crisis for the country….

Americans should be concerned about your children having the possibility of being shot to death & it’s strange that you say that they don’t, but I watch the Republican congressman talking & realize that these people earn a lot of money from the gun lobbyists so all their constituents don’t believe about the problems because that’s what they’re being told. Canadians tend to think more for themselves than what their politicians tell them & if the people in power are doing a good job, then they will stay in power, but if they are not, then they are voted out, period!

You forget that good year bad year lately, there are more children killed by gun than any other type of citizens. Canada did get its share of gun killing, not really a spree as in US. but guns licences got deal heavily because of that. Canadian society is lived mostly by social democracy.
