As a native Canadian I totally understand your stand on winter and inflation. As a native Canadian I think we don't inform immigrants and outsiders that winter climate does to alot of people. There is a seasonal affective disorder (very prevelent) in my father's family and even my mother unfailing optimism get's like you fatigue at the very least. Kids love winter but yes as a adult or even a teen many people retreat and feel isolated. As for inflation, I do hope you find a country where the gouvernement(s) aren't denying the insanity that is going on. To be honest, after centuries of being a Quebec native, I have fantasized very heavily about moving myself because even with a good salary things each year since Covid-19 have become just terribly expensive and it affect primarily basic shelter and food needs. As a Malaysian Muslim, I always taking everything for granted. We are not perfect but we got everything wè need to live. Halal foods everywhere. Almost any kinds of foods we got halal version of it. From where I live, I could hear azhan from 5 different mosulla and masjid. So, Malaysia is one good option too. Islam religion is protected under our constitution. From a 12 year old girl, who wanted to explore London, study in UK and constant and full heartedly prayers... I came to UK when I was 27... But I had to face a new me here.. after my course completion, where I stand now, and still having the opportunity to continue here . I decided to choose a middle eastern country .. most importantly for my Imaan and my child's good upbringing. If you want a citizenship I don't suggest you go to any gulf countries, of course ignore any war countries, Malaysia and Indonesia have nice people and I think you can get a citizenship there, Jordan might be a good choice you might be able to get a citizenship and there are diverse groups of people but the economy and civil status laws aren't exactly that great, now Egypt is definitely a choice but the country is kinda drifting off of Islam in the recent years, terrible economic conditions and I don't think a citizenship is possible really, I'm not much aware of the Arab west countries but they have their pros and cons definitely, lots of people there speak other languages and there's some beautiful culture and a considerable amount of political safety compared to other countries in the region, other than the occupation Palestine would've been a great choice lots of foreigners live here but I'm not sure what requirements you need for that and I'm pretty sure they probably wouldn't let you do so as Muslims, I have very little knowledge but I wanted to share what I can, I hope it helps.

People in India are lazy as they have people working for them and don’t realize how difficult it is living outside of that lifestyle (not everyone in India can afford housekeepers, cleaners). Being independent and doing things on your own has its own positive (just need to figure it out). \n\nI have worked in healthcare for 16 years and let me tell you…social system works better as everyone gets the health service without being judged about $$. Healthcare is based on priority around the world but people don’t understand this as they feel like their problem should be attended first no matter what! \nNot all drugs are legal in Canada, marijuana is legal though with acceptable limits…you probably were misinformed about drugs! Teach your kids about right /wrong when it comes to drugs, smoking, alcohol and that’s the best you can do! I know people who live in India and do all that which you mentioned you were worried about for your kids. \n\nWhat you experienced was a classic case of culture shock and your expectations didn’t match the reality! Moving away from family, changing lifestyle and being responsible adult (doing things on your own rather than relying on workers) is difficult but doesn’t make the country bad that have you an opportunity to settle! Don’t take things for granted even while you live in India…appreciate the effort that goes into everything- keeping roads clean, people working hard, etc. \n\nBest advice I can give to those considering moving to any foreign country is: Keep an open mind, be ready to work hard and visit the country you want to move to before you make the grave decision of uprooting everything! Things usually turn around and get better after 5 years mark- focus on upgrading your education if you have a basic degree from India (even you know how competitive things are in India, so how can western world not be!)\n\nBeing vegetarian- things are tough when it comes to food but living in Toronto has never been an issue. Even people living in India avoid outside food due to hygiene reason which is not a problem in Canada as food inspection is pretty strict (having worked with ministry of health). \nCities like Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, etc has variety of food options (including veg)…just have to be really open to trying other cultural food (Asian, Mediterranean, Italian,Mexican, etc). My parents are strict vegetarians and have never truly struggled when they are out. \n\nCost of living is definitely higher as the standard living is higher compared to India. Education (until grade 12) and healthcare are free (in reality, you pay tax for it), you get pension when you retire (based on your contributions and type of jobs you had)…you failed to navigate the system and I will say having family around is why you didn’t take opportunity to explore and learn on your own. \n\nPlease don’t come to Canada and make life difficult for other Indians who choose to willingly accept the culture and lifestyle here after going through this hardship- cost of living and housing has gone up dramatically in major cities because of immigration influx! If you’re serious about moving and putting up, only then move! Otherwise all the best for your future endeavours!

I came here 20 years ago from south asia. got my master's degree from Mcgill, started a business with my husband. We are doing well, working hard and having a good life in general. We did tighten our budget, planned our finances to a T. We live in Toronto, contrary to most, people are super friendly and social. Agreed, immigration needs to slow down to a bare minimum and prices needs to be adjusted, but please step out and touch grass. There is no war going on, canadian cities are still one of the best to live in the world. We frequently host get togethers with our neighbours, who are old stock canadians and new canadians alike. We support each other. We have a great community. Step outside talk to your neighbour.

As someone in his late twenties living in Quebec, I got to say this is very accurate. I won't say things are as bad as some other people are saying in the comments, but I do feel like the country is going downhill. For me, these are the main three things that feels wrong:\n\n1. We, as citizen, tend to offload every responsibility to the governments. Each election, they promise to handle more, but fail times and times again to deliver on their existing responsibilities. But we still vote for them, because we fear personal responsibilities. They created these immovable bureaucratic monsters and they lost control. They promise new shiny things instead of fixing what is already in place.\n2. We lost all notion of what is necessary. People gets more and more entitled which leads to overconsumption and frustation. Quebecers used to be proud peoples who survived with the little they had. Now greed has consumed our identity and nothing is holder us together.\n3. I feel that jobs are less and less useful to the society. Even I, as an electronic/software engineer, wonder if my job as meaning. I feel we lost touch with the concrete world. Some people have 0 contribution to anything useful and have really good salary and work conditions, while others bust their ass in shitty conditions. I am Canadian, and while elements of this video are true, there are larger points missed. healthcare is challenging, but it could be worse- could be the American system. housing is expensive if you want to live in the large urban centres. essentially, life is good but takes effort, and there's a growing sense of entitlement... but all a Canadian need do is head south and they'll be missing it in a short period of time. I would far rather be here than in China, Ukraine, Russia, India, many African nations, many South American nations, Mexico,... I am 60. Once past 60, a person's health starts to slowly fade away, and if you don't have top-notch health care available, you will die when you get a fairly mild illness and you cannot get the care you need for that 'mild' illness. For this reason, I am now making plans to move to some other modern country where there actually is government-funded healthcare that is still in good shape (not America; they don't have government-funded healthcare). This is simply a 'life-and-death' situation.

These problems have gotten a lot worse in the last 8 years. I think the main issue is immigration. We are bringing in more people than what we can deal with. I am not against immigration, but just like all the other things the current federal government has done, they are doing immigration wrong. They think immigration is good, so tthey open the hose fully to bring in as many as possible. This is a bad strategy. They should be bringing in a lot less immigrants and that would lessen the housing issues. I think that this is destabilizing our economy to the point where it could have a dire outlook on Canada. I wouldn't be surprised if some provinces leave confederation. What we need is a balanced approach to all things governmental. Not a LEFT or RIGHT solution, a BALANCED CENTRIC solution. Time to vote differntly.

Alberta is very good. Born in BC, lot's of great nature but is unaffordable and almost impossible to have a home remotely close to Vancouver but in Alberta you can buy a home right in one of it's cities for a decent price oil will always be needed at least for lubrication of vehicles and farm ware.

Lack of housing and increased cost of living that is exceeding income growth seems to be a problem in many first world countries. In Canada we need to cool immigration until we have caught up with the housing needs of the people already here so its a good thing that people don't want to come here.

as an Immigrant, I'm done immigrating for now but I get taxed net net around 45% + HST + Carbon tax + Property taxes, for all these taxes, I get really not much back. I don't qualify for most services, I don't get dental, I don't need many either, but it is putting a lot of pressure on my entrepreneurship aspirations. The healthcare is truly atrocious and still need to fly for medical appointments by good doctors since doctors here are dumber for some reason. If you want to be an entrepreneur who owns a house, Canada is not your place right now. Worst of all is the culture, highly highly introverted in a bad way, cold people, bad social skills, boring conversations and everyone seems to be high on weed. I am glad you have found something to do as a hobby but if you were in the USA you would have 4X the disposable income (and I think we all would still be complaining).

Rent will keep increasing as there is no competitive market. as many of the people in Canada are already operating carousel tax fraud. Look that up on W5 and Canada is doing nothing to stop this, guess where all the ones at the top of that carousel are from? As long as there are ones operating illegal business earning more than the average hard worker being able to afford higher rent the rent will not be decreased but keep going up. Saying that they are bringing in mostly younger people is a lie too, they bring in everyone. That our workers are aging out and there will be nobody to do the work. Let's think about this clearly, as the population grows we need more businesses, more schools, more produce etc... Fact we need the same amount of business for a community based on the size of the community I would think. In the 1800's a small school house was sufficient, a local convenience store was enough with a mail order catalogue etc.. As population grows you need more. We also now have self check outs etc.. We are cutting down Canadas number one resource trees to make way for more and more roads etc.. Having to spend more to change and widen roads, feed these refugees, support them till they get situated, house them for how long, educate, train them, and then hope they can actually adapt and not hate us etc.. Look around the world and not just in our own back yards i.e. what happened in NY today, look at Britain afraid to put up Merry Christmas not to offend or any Christian monuments. Yet we have to tolerate. hmmm As said before I am neither Christian nor Jewish I am Natsarim and view those things as pagan myself but feel this world is going down the wrong path and nobody should have to cave in for the sake of others.
