well most immigrant just come here to make quick money and go back to their country i know so many in here and its ok i would do the same if i was them like they love their country and they arent made for cold country from what they keep telling me all the times and they just want more money not live in poverty all the times and live a safe life so yeah its a great option i believe and we need them to work for us so even if they quit after a time they does our hard job witch no one here wanna do so its perfect for both of us even if its sad cuz most of these poeple i meet were really good poeple lively will be sad when they leave but its the place they deserve to be :) so i can accept it all their family is there

I can’t say I agree with Quebec as number one, tax rates are huge when you factor in property taxes, car insurance, plus they have the most expensive gas, outside of NFLD. The people are mostly rude when it comes to those that cannot speak French (yes I’m unilingual English not by choice, my hearing is bad). In support of my opinion, I have travelled (camping) in every province and territory except the Yukon. I have met some amazing people kind, friendly helpful, sadly I cannot apply that to Quebec. I wish this would not be the case as there are many parts of the province I would love to go see.

I agree with this. Lived in Montréal for 10 years, Quebec has it all. But, moved to New Brunswick for cheaper housing market, visited British Colombia, Manitoba, and Nova Scotia it's all beautiful too, but always love going back to Ontario, so many things to see and do esp if you're a sports fanatic it has (NBA/NHL/MLB etc. Also, I love Alberta for it's majestic scenery esp Banff but I don't like it's politics.

I'm Covid negative but for reasons that I can't go into, I haven't had my 3rd vaccination (until January). The best province to live in is the one where your friends and family live at.\nIt doesn't matter where you go in Canada, or how rich you are. When you feel lonely and down, you are more miserable than even the poorest of Canadians in the worst locations.\n\nI could live in the coldest of climates and hardest job markets, and still find the love of life when I can just hop over to visit my relatives or hang out with my besties.

I was born here and lived in Canada all my life. I have travelled to many places as well. I love the country of my birth, but our government has corrupted things beyond an easy repair. These ladies are correct. We are no longer the “brand” as advertised. The government propaganda has people convinced we are the same country, while they steal what is left from our pockets and over-work those who still care for its’ people. It is not just immigrants who should consider other places to live. Go where you are treated the fairest - I have trouble finding real evidence that is here.

Everytime I look at Canada I tell myself wow, what a beautiful country, but then I realized how depressing life is here in Canada. As an immigrant I have so many thing to be thankful for living in Canada,but also so many more things why I am planning to leave. Housing is unexplainablly expensive, cost of living is going too high for wags to catch up, drug problem visible in every city, mediocre jobs , unwilling government that has zero Desire to make this country grow to its full potential the list is endless. I will always love Canada, but life here isn't as good as it's portrayed to be. People just live so they can work so they can live to work again and can't even break even, many are too depressed and end up on drugs rising homelessness.

You were doing so well until you got to Quebec. Don't get me wrong. I LOVE Quebec and I can barely speak enough French to get a hotel room and a meal, but in major cities like Montreal and Quebec City plenty of people in the service industry speak better English than most of us do. The one problem is.....TAXES. Unless you are looking for socialist utopia where daycare is cheap you are likely to find them kinda oppressive. I grew up in Northner Ontario, worked in BC, Quebec, NB, Ontario and Alberta and have visited the rest of the provinces and NWT. Yukon and Nunavut still to go on my bucket list..... Personally, I love the people of Newfoundland the best, the scenery of BC the best and the taxes of Alberta the most. I could be happy living anywhere here now that I am retired but I have settled in New Brunswick for the cost of living. Plane tickets are cheap if I feel the need for a change of scenery.

Alberta is easily the best. If the rest of Canada doesn't appreciate Alberta, then the Albertans can feel free to join up with their friends in the U.S. We love you guys! Trudeau can go play on the freeway with Biddy Biden.

Life is excellent in Toronto and southern Ontario so I'm not going anywhere. If I were forced to move, I'd pick Ottawa or Kingston (both also in Ontario, of course). Out of province, my first choice would be Halifax for sure (all of Nova Scotia is pretty special) and probably St. John or Charlottetown next. On the west coast, Victoria just edges out Vancouver in my books. A little surprised that Quebec is first in your ranking but I do love visiting there. Alberta is gorgeous but culturally it's vibe is more American than Canadian. Anyone else find that?

I live in Quebec's Outaouais region and through I love my home and would likely never move there needs to be mention that many of my fellow Québecois are very intolerant of race and language differences and the more you go north the worse it gets. I don't know how it stacks up to the rest of the country, maybe you could do a video on that.

Canada is what you make of it. You can arrive rich and end up poor and you can arrive poor and end up rich. In between that, you can have a great life that balances your needs. I’ve seen immigrants succeed simply because they see the opportunity in front of them . They worked hard in their own counties to stay just above the poverty line ,but when they apply that same effort here it pays off ten times greater. I feel that compared to a lot of immigrants, natural born Canadians come across as spoiled and a little lazy…we are. We haven’t had to struggle the same way someone from a poorer country might have. I’ve talked to people who’ve worked ten to twelve hours a day just to stay afloat. If you did that here you could make plenty of money to live and have some left over. As far as owning a house goes,yes it’s expensive . I feel that homeownership in any country is relatively expensive. Here is a tip; use that soaring home prices to your advantage. Houses are expensive but you can make a lot of money buying and selling. I recommend putting together a buyers group and share the house for a few years, then sell at a profit, buy a bigger house or two smaller houses.try to buy the worst house in the best neighbourhood and fix it up slowly . That house could double in value in five or six years in the Toronto market. This is nothing new of course ,the people from India and China seem to do this a lot here ,it drives up prices and profits. On the downside to this ,you are now part of the problem. As the housing prices are driven up the non wealthy can no longer afford to own a house . They are at the mercy of high rents with no rewards of ownership. They are caught in a cycle of hard work and (relative)poverty. This could also be you if you can’t keep up the house payments and are forced to rent.\nHow well you speak English is important but your native language is also useful here because Canada is half immigrants . As a Canadian that speaks only english (Irish descent)I have to say to all newcomers that I’m very impressed that you have learned a new language and that you may even speak more than two! Don’t be embarrassed about your abilities . I find that in my experience , Canadians do not look down on people just because they don’t know English. In fact ,I’ve known people that have lived here for decades and still know very little English. They are comfortable in their communities and they function just fine. Learn as much English as suits your needs and be proud of any gains you make.\nOutside of Toronto are other cities that you might consider when looking at southern Ontario.From my experience,most are generally the same, just not as big . There are large immigrant communities in London Ontario, Hamilton and just outside of Toronto where housing is just a little bit less expensive but the commute to work is probably longer. This is just my opinion but in the small towns there are less people of colour , (which is what people of no colour call everyone else . I wonder if I’m called a person of no colour in some other culture ? LoL ). That might make it harder for you to feel integrated ,if that’s what you want. I’m not saying that people from other cultures can’t make it in a small town , I’m just saying that it’s definitely not Toronto . Here, people of any nationality can feel like they have a place where they can belong . It seems that no matter where you are from ,there is a community already here that’s set up restaurants and stores and clothing shops and newcomer support systems. And if your from Portugal or China or India or Africa or the Middle East, there are large groups of your kin here that have established roots for generations and you probably know this already.\nToronto means meeting place and that becomes evident quickly. I was born here and it’s one of the things I love the most about my city. I’m not going to say that there isn’t systemic racism here ,the people of no colour still kind of keep the top position , but as we become a minority in a decade or so ,I hope that will shift to a broader spectrum. It’s certainly happening already. One good thing is that the police department tries to hire people of colour so that racialism may play a smaller role. We’re getting used to seeing our politicians more and more reflect their constituents.\nI have to talk about the weather. Because I’m from here I’m used to the extremes of minus thirty and plus thirty . Eventually you get used to it (somewhat). Dressing in the right clothes is important. Summer is easy , but winter is different. It’s trying to kill you. Spend the most that you can afford on winter cloths . If you can afford a quality parka you should get one. The hood can be drawn around the face and stay out of the wind.\nIf not ,think of layers with a outer layer that blocks the wind. We have things called long Johns that are basically full length thick cotton or nylon pants that go on under your pants and a pair of extra thick socks. Buy your boots to fit your thick socks. Try to get the best boots you can afford ,it’s something that you might spend a little extra for but never regret.\nAll in all we are a fairly organized and peaceful society. Most people are friendly and will give you a chance . We have a good social safety net here and you don’t have to be homeless or starving if you don’t want to. There are people and organizations set up to help ,that truly try to get people back on their feet. It’s a good investment that pays off in ways that matter for the quality of life in a big city. I’m not putting my American neighbours down when I say they do things differently. They have their ways ,we have ours. This is just something that we do because we’re trying to learn how to help those that society has discarded or can’t find their place. Sure we have one or two areas where the homeless have pitched tents and we have some resources for them if they want. Unfortunately The mayor recently forced a small camp to move from a very visible place to more scattered locations. There were social workers involved as well as protesters trying to protect them. I didn’t like that happening and I want to see even more resources dedicated to them ,but on the other hand ,we are trying to avoid something like what happens on the streets when it’s just ignored. When I see YouTube videos of the streets of Philadelphia I’m extremely saddened. I thank the lucky stars that I was born in Toronto Canada.\nFor all it’s pollution and expense and crowds ,I think it’s a great place to do almost anything your heart desires . For every ugly building there is a beautiful park ,for every honked horn there is a birds call , for every cold and dark day there is beautiful sunny one around the corner.

After nearly 13 years as of Jan 1st 2022, I'll be leaving Canada on a one-way ticket; not to my country of origin, but further into new ventures.\n\nIt's been a slog to become a citizen and try and make life work here. It's a good place to be successful financially if you make sound choices, and then to live a fairly quiet, isolated life. If all you want is to live within your own ethnic community and have a better quality of life, it's a good place.\n\nUnfortunately, it's never had enough culture or meaning for me. Life feels pretty empty no matter how much money you make. The national identity being based around home-ownership feels extremely depressing to me.\n\nAnd you're both on point about the reserved, passive-aggressive nature of Canadians. I've become like that too now. It's pretty obvious that it costs us dearly; people are unable to be genuinely warm, to take risks and form real friendships. Everything feels surface-level because no one risks taking the steps that might even be a bit of intrusion into each other's lives that is the signal of the start of a close friendship. I'm sick of the surface relationships I've had here.\n\nAnd the wholesale import of U.S. narratives with complete ignorance of our own realities. Most Canadians think they live in the U.S. and seem unable to name a single important issue in their own province or country. Work ethnic, I wonder, even productivity, very sure they are no where to Japanese or korean, even to Europeans, I was very lucky left the country after going through the weather, people, migrants plus government rules and regulations that was in 88, was in Winnipeg, now it takes me few hours to Thailand puket to enjoy life. I agree with all the points, but this situation is not only in Canada but everywhere. I will start from my home country India, Since graduation I was working as a part time teacher and I deadly love that profession. To qualify myself I did so many courses, internships, attended workshops, completed my B.Ed and M.Ed but everything went vain when I started searching a job. The amount of hardwork I did was not at all recognizable, salaries were so low but still I worked thinking may be later I will get an opportunity but to a disappointment it never happen. Later, I moved to UAE thinking maybe here atleast I will get what I expected, struggled for 5 months to get a job luckily I was on a family visa. I lowered my expectations, ready to work on the lowest salary but still I did no job. Finally I decided to go back to my home country but was still applying for the jobs thinking to not loose hope till the date of my flight and believe me the next day I got a call and got selected the same day with an average package not the lowest but still I was happy. So I think difficulties are everywhere it depends on how you are dealing with them and mostly being positive is the main key for success. Even I am deciding to immigrate Canada, have many friends their who are happy with their lives but it doesn't mean I should keep my hopes high but the best thing I can do is accepting whatever is coming to me and being grateful of whatever I have. (BTW teachers are underrated everywhere)

I never ever wanted to moved to America. Had to moved because of family and entered the country at an age of 12. Didn’t do anything but still got the US citizenship cause only my earthly parents had to passed the thingy.. I guess whatever God gives.. you just get it. Whatever God does not give. Don't want to return motherland is the most shameful answer and then comparing that area to India's Punjab only on the basis of crowd is foolishness . Our punjab is real and they left for their privilege and in future they would do again for extra privilege by moving another country . Where ever they go they will be recognized as indian . Since taxes seem to be biggest interest. This is latest stat for average household: 40% to taxes and 32% to living (home, food, transportation) with taxes expect to go up even more under current government. And FYI, weather in Vancouver is mild but has one of the highest standards of living and homelessness in Canada. And we don’t have “free” healthcare it’s socialized. So going to clinic for basic check up is ok but anything more there are long wait times with many choosing to go out of country to get treatments. It’s important to be mindful of the propaganda about Canada or any country really. I love my country but it’s not a wonderland.

If someone wants to come illegally live work and so on then I can see a problem. Why can't people just go the legal route? Also this guy came with his family from America which is NOT a country of refugee status or seen as an endangering atmosphere. He and his family were accepted in the USA so automatically he loses his refugee status when trying to cross into Canada. We have rules for a reason. I just love how people ignore this simple fact

Canada is full of racism and that’s a fact. There is not much of the difference with the States either. Only difference is that Canada’s racism comes in the form institutional and systemic racism. The states have a way bigger platform than Canada so their situations regarding racism will be covered more than Canada’s and also Canada hides behind the “it’s such a diverse country” statement to diverge from the issue of racism. Ask yourself this- Which country do you see a wider diverse representation of, concerning the people in power? In Toronto we just had our first black police chief(which was a big thing here) a few years back while in the States they’ve been having people of colour and many minorities in power. Representation of different ethnic backgrounds is an issue here but nevertheless the states still have a long way to go with racism. I love Canada so much but there is absolutely racism that this country will not bother to even acknowledge
