I currently moved to usa for a job. But the company is on the smaller side which means im looking for a bigger company. But ideally if i can get us green card, i have to plan to move back because once my job ends i will have to go back. So im saving my money to invest and will buy a house in vancouver or Toronto.

A few quick points. \n\nDuring the 2009 recession, canada was positioned pretty strong, however if we didnt lower our interest rates our currency would have rissen to high in value and as a result made it too expensive for u.s companies to invest in it. \n\nThe downside was that it over inflated assets due to our strength and confidence in the housing market during the u.s. termoil.\n\nNow, our cost of living is incredibly high, and our tight lending policies on businesses make it difficult to scale within our own country, thus limiting good paying jobs. \n\nThe reason canadians dont invest as much in businesses is not because of lack of innovation and work, it is just much harder to acquire capital.

Canada has developed a culture of rich-hating which drives polices that harms investments so even Canadians invest and do business in the US instead of at home. RE is a great example, there is so much red tape for developers and landlords I know many that just build homes in the US instead. Not to mention the government charges a flat tax of 50% on rental income. This has lead to shortfall of homes. Ontario population has grown about 800k since 2020 but the province only built 200k homes.

Unchecked corporate greed, unenforced anti competition laws like Shaw - Rogers merger, greedy landlords, unchecked foreign investment buying up the housing market and driving up the cost of ownership so most born and raised Canadians end up renting. Thats just the short list

Clearly they need help. We should help them. That's what America is all about. This is all because of Bidens new border policy and illegal border crossings are down literally 70%. Amd you would think the Republicans and GOP would be praising him for doing something they wanted that Trump never did for them. Biden is a conservative, a republican a Democrat whatever you want to call these people. They all switch sides back n forth and want the sake things. For corporations and the 1%, the very people responsible for the destruction of America, the middle class, and not to mention the planet, to get all of our taxes, to get subsidiaries when they screw us like the banks, wall street and airlines etc. To help these corporations exploit us as much as they can, people are working for these companies and living in the street. To keep them from paying their fair share in taxes. Education, infrastructure, investment, they do none of it they do not participate in our democracy they are all participating in socialism for the rich and mass greed. We can't afford a roof over our heads. We can't afford healthcare. We can't afford school. The rich are taking all of our money and lining their pockets, the corporstions pockets, the military complex, the police depts. Republicans and corporate dems have been rerouting our tax money away from public education and towards private charter rich people schools for the last 30 years. Our country is in trouble. Rich people are playing monopoly ruining our economy and our society.

When we invest in unproduct activities then will not expect desired result (invest in housing)and invest in new venture /start up that is more benifitcial\nfor ownself and country

You're right however, this is why at least I'll deal with the party that I'll have a fairly good time with...sure both are b.s But when I invest in something I make Damm sure some of my concerns are address or heard...I know I'm not getting that from the republican party..and you bro......I haven't heard you come up with something slick.....you have a platform......tell me something I don't know.....

Canadians are unconsciously victims of the real estate industry (mortgage industry,Large investment banks,Real estate investment trusts…)

You can live in Canada and invest in other countries. However this might happen to West when African nations and BRICS stop trade with the west.

According to certain economists, it's possible that the U.S. and certain parts of Europe might experience a recession at some point in 2023. Although a global recession, which is characterized by a decline in annual global per capita income, is relatively uncommon due to the faster growth rates of emerging markets like China, in comparison to developed economies. I have pulled out more than $340k from my bank. After all, the FDIC covers only up to $250,000, and the implosion could have bad effect. Looking to invest into the stock market now. Does anyone know how I could go about it?

Certain parts except Quebec should secede to the US just imagine how much the US would invest in those oil and gas fields and let’s be honest Quebec has been trying to secede for a long time and provinces like Alberta are literally more integrated with American-states than they are with their Canadian counterparts.

Canada desperately needs American investment and technology especially in there natural resource sector. They will go a long way to funding your socialist policies.

canadians are doing just fine. first time buyers are struggling all around the world and most likely we are moving towards build to rent globally. The house prices in Canada are jacked up because most of the population is located in just a few cities and peope with spare cash like to invest their money somewhere.

Honestly the only video on the internet that talks the reality. As a new immigrant, I am shocked at how little Canadians spent on businesses and everyone borrows like crazy to invest in real estate. I ask all my friends is this sustainable?

Got to love media and their slanted presentation of everything to while is appears like they are giving you news, they're really telling you how to think on certain issues.\nWhy now? Why are they doing this? Really?\nUh, I don't know. Maybe because America through policies has caused a lot of problems in south America, destabilizing the area, which causes a lot of migration of a lot of refugees. Or how about how America closed the border to even legal refugees, causing them to pile up at the border. How about how they can't survive just sitting there waiting for the border to open, despite how the excuse for Covid as being the reason for why the border was closed is long gone. How about how the refugees are being attacked and victimized constantly while they wait.\nYet, ya, they're the bad people for becoming so desparate to get out of their terrible situation. Also, how about how amazing it is that supposedly balanced news networks never seem to balance out their reports by including such realities of the situation in their slanted propaganda reports.\nAlso, I see lots of mentions of large homeless populations in America as being the excuse of why America can't possibly help.\nYet, no doubt all these commenters likleu blane homeless people for being homeless despite how the employment is at record lows and employers are desperately looking for anyone to work for them. It's almost like they don't see how the effects of employers offering wages too low to support paying rent being mixed with large investment firms buying up all the Housing stock and enacting policies of constantly evicting current tenants to increase rental prices isn't a major component in the problem.\nThe reality is, the housing crises could be easily fixed by raising minimum wage to a living wage and restricting investment firms from using residential housing as investment stocks especially as one of their tactics seems to be to intentionally not rent out large portions of their housing stock to create a shortage in supply, this driving up demand along with rental prices.\nYou can't honestly complain about the homeless crisis while ignoring the fact that corporations are intentionally keeping rentals empty to drive up rental prices. I'm pretty sure that fits within one of the definitions of insanity.

1. add more processing people at the border\n2. take their DNA & Register them (with fee)\n3. give them temporary work visas (with fee)\n4. focus on punishing businesses that hire undocumented immigrants (huge fines)\n5. invest in countries in America Continent.

If US investment for the last 40 years would have been in the Americas instead of China we wouldn't have this problem

Invest in prisons cause this is where they all going

Why would anyone invest in a business with hostile governments everywhere and Trudeau in league with the NDP? Maybe in Alberta, but their premier seems equally deranged.
2023-05-21 0
The graph at 3:24 shows investment crashed after Trudeau became PM and it is still crashing. ? If Trudeau was deliberately trying to destroy Canada would he have done anything differently?
2023-05-20 0
Everybody and their mother thinks they're a landlord or real estate agent in Canada. They wouldn't even consider producing something new, creative, or of substance. Just the mention is like blasphemy to them. Go invest in a business. Go start your own business. Go do something.
2023-05-18 0
when referring to Canada, are you talking to the government to invest money in companies, or just change some laws to create attractiveness?

And here i am, in the middle of eastern europe, studied hard, saved up every penny i could, even learned to code , found a good coding job, full remote these days, im in spain now, the beach is in my view.. i managed to do all of those things in the past decade, and still i was rejected by the us embrassy every single year, that makes a total of 11 times so far, not a word as to why, just rejected.. tbh i no longer want to move to the states.. i started begging you guys at 18, im 29 now.. i could’ve invested my talents and work in the us, while paying taxes there, instead i work for a us company in a very cheap part of the world while paying a small fraction of taxes to my home country.. keep letting those guys in and avoid us.. soon enough you wont have anyone defending you from the issue’s because the people that make good money and pay high taxes are leaving to make space for the homeless shelters and to avoid being stolen from by the mob

If they'd invest in their own yard the grass wouldn't seem so much greener over here

I keep trying to tell my black family and friends in Canada to travel and invest your time in black countries but they rather go to Europe lol. Black Canadians love white people too much
2023-05-15 0
Another thing we forget here in Canada is that the elite whites from America are invested in Canafa its no different. Just worse cause there is less black people. I jope more black Amercians migrate here and change the game. Now lets not forget there are some very few truly good white people. Lets not get blinded too much either but the truth remains.

There were US government and military people to meet with México’s President Andres Manuel López Obrador, to talk about immigration issues.\nMéxico was ready to talk about this BUT the US government officials talked about an investment of 1.4 BILLION DOLLARS for México ?? INSTEAD. Sooooo… USA is not doing its part for this.\nUS wants a liquid propane pipe line from Texas to Sonora and from Sonora to Veracruz. And for the “ITSMO DE TEHUANTEPEC” another multimillion investment. I mean; thank you USA… But they won’t touch the issue of immigration with the Mexican Government. Sooo who is at FAIL ??
2023-05-14 1
Honestly sometimes I think as black people we are to blame. We are always complaining, we all know that the only way we can counter racism is by economic emancipation for all black people, how do we do that? Well we need to recognise and support black owned businesses, we need to be well educated and relentless in pursuing financial and mentality freedom. Let us stop complaining and invest in our selves, just then can we command the respect we deserve, in the absence of all the above, we should not complain. \n\nP.S: Let us learn from the Chinese, from being ridiculed to becoming the most important players in the global economics of the world

Housing isntt supposed to he a financial investment, god damnit! Thinking like that is part pf the reason we are atuck.

The issue is everyone thinks/ assumes it should be easy to gain US citizenship when in reality most countries require certain capital/ cash investments to gain citizenship…why should the United States be any different especially since a U.S. citizenship is one of the most valuable citizenship’s in the world?

The Pro leftwing government of Venezuela wanted to renegotiate it's oil contracts with the oil companies operating in Venezuela so that greater amount of revenue would go to the Venezuelan people to improve their living standards, invest social programs that would fight poverty . \n\nAll the oil companies aggred except Chevron who then lobbied the US government to put sanctions on Venezuela. \n\nSo the US government used the predominant power of the USD in the world financial market to put crippling sanctions on Venezuela to ruin and destroy their economy With the hope that the hardships and poverty inflicted on the Venezuelan people would push them to overthrow their government and replace it with a pro US Vassal guy in power. \n\nThe Venezuelan government was able to hold onto power using all sorts of sneaky schemes, but the Venezuelan people's living standards collapsed and poverty and despair flooded that country. \n\nNow their people are heading to the US to find refuge as an act of desperation.\n\nNow Americans are complaining about them heading to the US and forcefully trying to breach the US border.\n\nAs they say\n\nYou made your bed, now lie on it.. You reap what you sowed, greater than you sow... You harvest what you planted. And eat what you cooked.\n\nEnjoy

Oh, Canada has 7 large banks that do all the consumer lending. No wonder the banking sector is stable. Now, are loans available for investing in business? Nope. Canadian banks would rather buy money market funds in the USA and the USA take the Canadian savings and loan to an American who invests in Canada and takes the profits back to the USA and pays off the loan who pays off Canadian banks.
2023-05-11 0
I like the logic that the difference in average annual income is not a problem because Canada has less income inequality. Maybe the income inequality in the USA is totally due to the higher investment the USA makes per worker and the poor in the USA are as well off as the average Canadian.

So...how did those protests against IMF investment 20 years ago go for you?

We have more important things to pay for, like welfare, language crisis, lgbtq agenda... Investment is like 250 on the list

Man most Americans are sleep. These people are not coming here to be working class. They are going to come here, have 9 people work under the table, pool their money together and start an LLC, get a secured credit card, pay on time for a few months and then get $50k+ in business credit and buy real estate investments.
2023-05-06 0
The areas where real-estate had the largest grown are also areas where foreign investment and immigration was much higher.

Let my people in they work hard and very appreciative they work hard they live in 1 home they help build each other. Americans bitching about money stop trying to have the nicest car stop trying to live in the biggest home invest your dam money and then get nice stuff later. People working for 17 an hour wanting to live luxury

My lil bro and I live in Ontario. My lil bro is in chem eng. At this time, he plans to move to the US for work immediately out of uni, only save for an exceptional internship presenting itself.\n\nI was in comp sci. If I weren't self employed, I'd do the same as him. \n\nCanada does not pay those in STEM. Notwithstanding future investment trends in Canada, Imo, one should even consider avoiding attending university if they highly value compensation.

High taxes, high energy prices, low wages, too much government, crony capitalism, real estate being treated as a speculative investment, too much immigration and nowhere to house them, regulations that deter entrepreneurship, poor health care, refusal to invest in our resource industry, refusal to invest in core infrastructure, declining civil liberties. Lot of these problems have been festering for a while, but things have really gone off a cliff since Trudeau was first elected. Even if you get some wise and saintly philosopher king to replace his corrupt arse, these problems will take years, probably decades to fix. I'm in my late 30s, and basically if I want to get out of this rut, I think I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and figure out a way to move to the States. I'm getting real tired of grinding my butt working and having nothing to show for it.
2023-05-03 0
As a Canadian I can explain our problem: Our elected PM. He's absolutely gutted our energy sector and has made it clear the only economy that can function in Canada is Quebec & Ontario's economy, which accounts for government employees and white collar workers.\n\nThat's lead to Canadians moving to the US for work, home ownership, lower taxes, etc etc.\n\nCanadians that do stick around: Aren't interested in running a business, they tend to wind up working for the government for that stable income, and the only reliable way to get a good pension w/o managing your own finances.\n\nOur PM blames Canadians who own a house and a rental property rather than the thousands of foreigners who've been let in who buy 5+ properties to collect rental revenue.\n\nBusinesses won't invest in Canada anymore until there's certainty in our economy - And Trudeau ain't offering any guarantees besides wish washy threats to cut sectors.

White supremecy, racist to the hilt. GREEDY!! ATHEIST! DISGUSTING PLACE!Do NOT USE INVESTMENT COMPANIES! STAY AWAY FROM THE GREEN BANK. They willrob you blind. Deny all access to your own money!

From political policy, foreign policies , investment etc Canada becomes the “little brother “ of US. That is the reason of the gap between US and Canada, and that is the purposely designed result.
2023-05-01 0
Our current government no longer incentivizes Canadians to invest in businesses since they are taxed so heavily in comparison to the US. Our high taxes are subsidizing the mass immigration to the country, leading to poorer public services, insane health care wait times, etc. If Canadians want to start a business they might as well do it south of the border.
2023-05-01 0
If we don’t fix the affordability of housing in this country soon, it’s going to get really ugly. The powerful financial incentives driving the purchases of multiple properties as investments is sucking up a larger and larger portion of housing supply - and driving up prices steadily. Rentals too don’t have enough supply thanks in part to rent controls, and high immigration. It’s fine if you are a ale to borrow huge sums to cash in, but it’s bleak fro people living paycheck to paycheck.
2023-04-30 0
There has been little investment in infrastructure to match the demand of population requirements of the new immigrants. Health care is unable to keep up with the increasing demand. Furthermore the immigrants are needed to work at low paying jobs ($16/hour) when it has been conservatively estimated that workers need a minimum of $23/ hour to just survive. Housing starts cannot be met as there are not enough trained workers to fulfill demand. New residents are finding the country's living resources lacking. Taxes are very high in comparison to wages as well.
2023-04-30 0
Yeah canada is 100% fucked long-term. No investment in people, technology and infrastructure. No wonder the OECD forecasts it as the worse performing in the next decade.

If this video wasn't about Canada you could very well believe that this video was about Australia. We are pretty much the same. There are too many selfish idiots in this country who want to get rich quick through property investing. As a result of this everyone is mortgaged up to their eyeballs in debt. People think that owning investment properties means you're some sort of god. If we didn't have any resources our entire economy would be focussed on building homes. The thing is, the houses that builders build in this country are terrible. They don't insulate well, the materials used are crap, the workmanship is poor. People on average now take out mortgages 6-7x their income. To keep property booming we open the floodgates for immigrants. The societal landscape of our country is changing for the worse. Looking around Melbourne and Sydney, most people are either Chinese or Indian now. These people run away from their countries (which they think are crap compared to the West) and then they buy houses here resulting in people born in Australia losing out.\n\nThe entire thing is a god damn ponzi scheme.
