Canada is actively trying to kill off it's homeless instead of having shelters and mental health support. Like actual city hall talking about hoping the winter kills off homeless. Living in QC for 5 years now. Took me more than a year to get my family doctor. He dumped me a year after our first appointment. I had to re-register to get a one assigned to me and everytime I contact them they tell I have to wait. Have no family doctor since then. Think I'll probably be living elsewhere/abroad when they get me a new doctor.

Most, if not all, immigrants have gone through rigorous English proficiency tests from reading, writing, speaking. Likewise most of the immigrants have high educational backgrounds, so they’re definitely proficient in English. They may not have the native speaker accent (just like yourselves) but I highly doubt they could be regarded as not being proficient in the English language. What’s the big deal about the English language by the way? among all of the languages, it’s the easiest to master. So I highly doubt that’s one of the real reasons. It’s more on the stupid “not having Canadian experience” thing. Which is really doesn’t make much sense. How would you expect most immigrants to have Canadian work experience? This backwards thinking is among the reason why Canada is lagging compared to other global countries. Only Canada has this rule. That way, it’s limiting its chances of getting the best talents from every part of the world. Because of this rule, highly skilled immigrants are forced to work jobs that doesn’t require technical skills just to pay the bills, until they got fed up for not being able to get jobs according to their high skills and eventually leave Canada for the US.

I think something worth mentioning is the quality of food sold here. It is pricey and low quality, especially fresh produce and fruit - much of it picked unripe in central America and shipped thousands of km to be sold on Canadian grocery shelves. If you're in a hurry, it's difficult to find an inexpensive and healthy option, like in many other countries. Your selection is largely limited to TIm Hortons and other fast food chains, which don't generally offer nutritious choices.

I live in a small town in Ontario with not many immigrants. I always hear people in the media or politics talking about minority groups and wonder if people from other places feel set apart. I find it a real challenge mentally to not think about it if I see someone who looks different from me…. Like it weighs on my mind, but meanwhile I just want to treat people the same… I think everyone who comes to Canada legally should feel like a part of the country. I’m tired of identity politics that separates more than brings together. It is nice to know that you feel this pressure too… I wish the media/politics would shut up so we can come together while appreciating our differences…. I'm sure you are living a better life than when you were living in Africa. You sound like you wanted to come to Canada to become a millionaire. Sorry my friend it's not like that. You can't expect to come here and get everything free... Was it better when you were in Africa? If you can't adjust to Canada's lifestyle then join those who have decided to leave and see how easier life can be. If you want a better lifestyle be advised that nothing is free these days. And you sound like you want everything for free. If that's what you want, then you should catch the next plane and go where you think it's better and you can get things free.... We're you living better while you were in Africa? Canada didn't ask you to come and reside here... you volunteered to migrate to Canada so you can't expect to get everything free. You MUST adjust yourself accordingly. And if you're bored with Canada's lifestyle, then go live in the United States and see if you can get things free as you are expecting. Canada isn't asking you to stay here, so you can leave anytime you wish and good luck finding a place where you can get things free and you don't have to pay taxes and become a millionaire. I do watch many videos about the topic. First of all there's no place like home. As a human we will have tendency to resist to change. Choosing to leave a country whatever the reason will always be hard, you left a culture, family and so many good things. Diversity in a country like Canada is a good thing sometimes because somewhere somehow you find link to home. Imagine as a French Canadian like I am, I am consider as an immigrant in my own country. The natives came first from Asia, English took over the country which left us with no country we can call home. Many immigrants will say that French is an obstacle and don't understand why we need laws to keep it, we took our place following negotiations with the native not by conquest and always need to fight to keep that space because we're not making babies anymore and do need immigration like the rest of the country. That being said it brings the sensitive topic of jobs. There's types of jobs you do need Canadian experience, in Canada the construction codes are different from even a region versus another one. Do you know that St-Lawrence river is sitting on a tectonic plate and you need to construct a building which can resist a earthquake? What Canada need to do because we do lack of people on those job, is to provide fast track to help them having Canadian experience. They don't need anatomy courses, human here are pretty much the same but they need to know what medication is legal in Canada. Finally, all is on setting expectations, don't expect to feel at home in here, it take in average 3 generations to really feel at home, so be ready to feel pushed aside, be ready to live in a area where you will find mostly people of common cultural background. You will feel left over and pretty much alone. The only solution to be happy in here is embrasse change, go out of your comfort zone, embrace the local culture, talk to people from different backgrounds. There's a difference between multi cultural and integration. Sharing is caring, share your culture and your food, and most of all don't think you have the best way of life and other people don't understand. When you think everyone is wrong is usually a sign that you're the one who is wrong. Racism weirdly don't have a culture, a race or a religion, it's individual.

I also think they're senior parents don't qualify for canada or old age pension, they never worked here a day in their lives..there will be nothing left in 10 years when I retire\nTrudeau needs to go ..!!

I think Manitoba should get a better rap than that lolol. We don't have to worry about earthquakes here, there's no hurricanes, and we might get cold in the winter, but as long as that bright sunshine is out, we're good to go. So I think Canada is ranked 3rd best in the world to live in (I might be wrong but it's top 5 for sure). While Canada does have issues (like any other country in the world) What you outline highlights the privileged life you are living. You are correct in pointing out that the health care system is flawed, it is not perfect by all means but AT LEAST YOU ARE GETTING HEALTH CARE. Take the stats for example (I had the privilege of going to the hospital in Texas) My bill came to 3000 for a twisted ankle. They charged me over 500 dollars just for walking into the hospital. I'm not knocking that stats, but if you do not have money, you're fucked for health care. Instead of waiting 8 hours to see a doctor, you're now on Web MD trying to diagnose yourself. You are bitching about high taxes, how do you think Schools, Police and fire services, Emergency service hospitals etc etc etc get paid? through wishes and hope? You are again welcome to go anywhere else and enjoy whatever bs they have going they might have low taxes in other parts of the world but your going to have to pay for certain services you are taking for granted here. As Cost of living, if you live in Toronto or BC yes the cost of living is high, but at the same time, the average household income is high as well. I'm sorry minimum wage in most of Canada is roughly 15 dollars an hour, and the average incoming for most provinces is over 100k. I'm not sure what else to say on that subject :D As for things to do, seriously, stop living under a rock. Please go and travel Canada, to name a few things you can travel to Niagara, Go to Banff, Visit hot springs or enjoy any of our national parks. Not to mention all the multicultural festivals that take place. I guess what I'm trying to say here is, Canada is flawed and has its issues. However, It's a beautiful country and is a gem of a place to put roots down. I'm sorry you guys didn't feel that way.

They told me to leave after living in Canada 8yrs had successfull construction business had 8 employees paid taxes for on everything but still I had to go back than re-enter but than I opened up business in my home country and it did wonders and I never thought about going back the cbsa did me a favor I think or I would never have discovered what I was missing

A lot of the points you made were true, but not exclusively Canadian problems, they’re western problems. I dated someone who lived in the US, and travelled back and forth. I also used to work for a major American health insurance company. It’s a nightmare. The cost of premiums alone. I totally agree about the cost of living here... but I think the rest of your points lacked research and any solid supporting arguments. It’s boring? Why? Where are you living? Because I’ve lived in Montreal, Toronto, now I live in a smaller town and I can find you’d something fun to do every day. I think if you’re bored you’re boring. I do think change can be a very good thing. But people need to realize that there’s a different set of problems in each country. It’s all about the pros and cons that you’re willing to deal with. What is the lesser evil to you? Otherwise, no country is really a perfect match for your beliefs and values about how you should be treated. I personally would rather live in Jamaica, but even Jamaica doesn’t have everything in it that I would like. But I need to deal with that and settle. I live in Canada right now. Other than that, I could live in Canada the rest of my life, as long as I get out of Quebec.

In as much I understand what you’re saying, don’t you think it’s 100 times better compared to life in Nigeria. Your kids will have free education, healthcare is free as well. Paying for those in Nigeria is way worse than spending 40% of your yearly income. \nMost parents in Nigeria, spend their entire earnings on mostly schools fees and healthcare, I’m a mom of 4 plus 1 dependent and I know what we go through to pay school fees termly. We also pay taxes and the government extort citizens, yet we don’t enjoy any benefits from the government. We enjoy nothing , from healthcare, school fees, good roads, electricity, security, even school (shebi ASUU has been on strike for almost 8months now) infact nothing at all from the government.\n\nSo this reasons aren’t valid in my opinion, because Nigeria is currently a hell hole. Great idea to speak out. However, it's the same everywhere. Its a cyclical effect, get paid, pay your bills and if there's extra you save. You need to think how to break out of that and take control of your income. When you're making money and positive impact in your community no one cares if you're black or have accent. I do have to say if you're actually worried about the cold as a factor in moving to Canada it is way less than you think. In Southern Ontario it gets to be -40C about 3-4 times a winter, and in the summer it gets to 40C 3-4 times a summer, so we have pretty diverse weather, what you should worry about is how many different kinds of clothes you'll need to buy to actually go through the four seasons.\n\nJust a quick note on Quebéc, even if you did learn french you will most likely be yelled at in french as they are for the most part very protective of french Canada and see themselves as a different country, they don't like other people very much, and the french is different to french french. Cool place to visit but not so much to live in.

I'm English and I've been listening to the same questions being answered (the same way) by our own Pime Ministers for the past 25 years... which is very odd when you think about it. We;re a tiny island with 70 million population, yet 90% of our land hasn't been built on, so you have to ask... is a housing shortage being engineered in the developed west? I think relocating to Canada and subsequently leaving is a product of not having proper information or having a misconception about a western country before moving there in the first place. There's an emphasis of 'you really have to work hard' for new immigrants which they generally take for granted. Quite frankly, only sincere people empathize on hardwork. I find that most people seeking suggestion/advice always want to start from the top to bottom rather than bottom to top. Every society has it's own challenges. New immigrants who have just been in Canada for only 3years get frustrated while comparing themselves with people who have lived in Canada for 15 years. Growth is a gradually process, when it's automatic it's too good to be true!! All these similar countries run the say type of system, you gotta love where you chose to live. With that being said, we will continue to welcome new immigrants who re willing to start from the beginning to grow their dreams and wave goodbye to people who came and decided to leave. I love Canada ??

WhizQueen I think you should add solid data to your opinions to further solidify your position. I agree with you that people leave however more people move in than leave. Also many of your points you're comparing with your home country which is biased, that's why I recommend showing stats and surveys that show more people leave than stay (overall) not just for a specific demography.

I'm American born of Haitian descent and I think these type of videos are annoying. I find that Africans/Nigerians love to country hop while adding little to nothing in the way of cultural and social betterment in their temporarily adopted countries. When I travel it's out of a genuine love of travel versus constant economic movement. Stop expecting that one country is going to give you everything that you're looking for. There are pros and cons to living anywhere. Happiness and fulfillment comes from within self and not always geographical borders.

I'm an American and you are soooo right. Sometimes I sit on the porch just to see someone. America is not all people think, especially if you're baby boomers or generational X. But there are store's of most countries here, maybe because it's Florida.

I think every Canadian would expect the top 5 to be some combination of Québec, Nova Scotia, Alberta, BC, and Ontario but I’m kinda surprised by the order lol. I’ve lived in Ontario, Manitoba, and Alberta but have travelled to every province except Newfoundland and Labrador. Only 22 so that probably has some effect but I kinda expected \n1. Ontario \n2. Alberta \n3. British Columbia \n4. Québec \n5. Nova Scotia \nCost of living definitely screws BC and Ontario over though. Pretty solid list, the 5 are pretty much interchangeable depending on what you’re after.

I think you forgot to mention the expensive housing price in Canada! It's NOT what you see on the western movie where most people live in a nice big house. Unless you bring A LOT of money when you immigrate here, it's very difficult to buy a home with your salary, especially in Vancouver and Toronto area where there're more job opportunities.

The housing market is out of control due to money laundering and low interest rates, national debt is rapidly increasing, inflation rising rapidly, the medical 'emergency' is out of control and destroying the economy and civil liberties. Europeans are becoming a minority in every major city, and If you think that white minority is going to be treated kindly, you're for a rude awakening.

I strongly think that immigrants are idealizing Canada. Any place you settle in, you'll have to create your own place... Stop crying, nothing will fall from heaven when you're an immigrant.

Why do people not do their research before they leave their country? If someone is smart enough to be a doctor in their country of origin, you'd think they'd be smart enough to research what Canada's prerequisites are, and make sure they're taking those steps. Being a nurse in one country is equivalent to being a lab tech in Canada. So as a patient, I don't want a lab tech taking care of my loved ones in hospital.
