Why don't you cover this story with some integrity, Vice? Sob story for sure, but he's now a criminal and you don't even identify that's he's still free AND working, separated from his family as a result, but you include that as some sort of injustice. I truly feel sympathy for this family but your coverage of this story is biased and unfair.

The human race hasn't met the expected perfected plane of spiritual and intellectual awareness to Stewart our planet mother earth. But the question I ask, If the space disks win,and the extraterrestrials rule, what will life be like under alien rule, education,economic policy, work, labor , industry, food , commerce, social life etc? will it be better or worse.Does racism among humans have to lead us to such a possibility to be invaded by another unknown race from space. Rather we must see the good,constructive, creative,beneficial and artistic musical in all races. The most racism I experienced in school was from teachers. Its the most profound kind of racism, because they are authority figures. The thing is when your fellow students display racism it doesn't have the same gravity as it does when your teacher does it because you know your teacher does know better but they truly believe it.In University, I actually had a teacher give a lesson that was so tinged with racism that it really broke me down, because what I've come to realize is that so many people think that being racist is saying actual racist words and don't understand that perpetuating stereotypes are the most prevalent forms of racism.  It is demoralizing because it feels like a losing battle when your teacher is perpetuating racially disparaging ideas to an entire class, and you think about how many people are going to be influenced by that idea and in turn perpetuate it. I realized that this teacher really insidiously believed what she was saying was true, but that it just wasn't politically correct to say it. The main principle of white privilege is that white people get to be individuals but people of colour get grouped together by the most base stereotype of their race.  I don't think Black-focused schools are the solution. I think more integrated schools with diverse populations of students and teachers are the solution.\n Then there are concrete issues of race, space and the law. For example when you come to realize that carding continues in Toronto, and that most residents do not care that young Black men are being harassed and treated like criminals by the police because it does not affect their community, it makes you wonder if people are only inclined to feel empathy for those who look like them.

If maybe learnt to speak English it wouldn't be so difficult for him. At least try to integrate into their society when you move country.

If Singapore can integrate its Muslim population so can your country....

just watched the national on the cbc and an muslim guest said that canadians are accepting, tolerant, kind, etc --- I ask why are muslims not? they do not seem to tolerate becoming canadian - accepting our customs and when confronted some of them are really agressive (but that's just my experience) ... and then there's MO, a good friend of mine (his name is mohammed but prefers Mo - he says it causes less problems in these times) why are immigrates against integrating into our customs - it seems to me our customs are pretty good. we don't believe gays should be thrown off buildings - we don't believe someone who steals should have a hand chopped off, we do not believe that an atheist should be decapitated. I don't want Islam in my country, not because I hate them but because religions have their own set of moral principles and beliefs, Islam is clearly not compatible to our secular system. I'm not religious myself and I live in the west coast where there are few muslims, but just based from the discussions I've had with transfer students that come to my university I already don't like what I hear. They were nice, kind of, but all of them had backwards ideas. If you need a better reason to be against it, simply read the first few pages from the Quran, it is deplorable, more so then the bible. \n\nIf they want to integrate, their beliefs need to be reformed like Christians have centuries ago.

Of course intolerance exists in  Canada, however, I believe the current multi-cultural policy is ill conceived, delaying integration of new arrivals into the Canadian social fabric. The same can be said for the Indian Act which legally discriminates between status Indians and the Metis, who by accident of birth, bear the same social weight as  status Indians, but with far fewer social benefits.

what we need is an enlightment movement with islam where the individual determines whats best for themselves rather than these literal interpretations. In the U.S. at my school many of the 3rd generation muslim kids my age are becoming integrated. Girls wear hats that conceal their hair and long sleeves that fit within their religions dress code instead of the burka and young men are very open to other people ideas such as alchohol use. The problem is when families control their children, as in any case really, and are less than open to change. As a son of an immigrant the most important step with integration is the elimination of your cultural identity, you leave your values in your own country because you are no longer in an enviorment where your opinion matters or is relevant. If muslims could adjust/conform their rules to fit the conscripts of western civilization everything would be dandy. Adapt to fit the society that you move into, dont try to reform society to better suit yourself expecially when your a foriegner.

Europe and Canada Let More Muslims In. Integrate? I Dont Think So.

Muslims do not integrate and they don't want to. They push their religion on us. They sue catholic school boards for teaching Catholicism. They are liars. They find everything we do offensive. I find covering your face, killing women and female mutilation offensive. They need to be more open .

Islam is not a religion - its an ideology! The basis is in the Quran, Hadiths and in Sharia. Thereby Islam never can be integrated into a western society - thereby muslim immigration should be as little as possible.Listen to them - here we have freedom to use our hijabs etc - but truth is - if or when Islam becomes the majority there will be no freedom: no pork, maybe a slavelike form for Christianity, it will be beheadings, stonings of raped womens etc etc.We welcomed Islam into our countries - we have all seen what it brings.
