I hate to say this because I love America when I stand with Canada in Mexico and even China to fight back against Trump and his tyranny and is tariffs and is bigotry

Trump is only charging the same amount of Tariff’s that Canada has been charging America \n If you don’t agree you are traitor to your country\n But that’s democrats for youb

Trudeau is a weak man and Canada will see yet again just why. Canadian tariffs have already been in place against Americans.

Why do people still watch CNN after being lied to over and over? Didn't they tell you Hilary was winning in 2016 and then lied to you guys again about Harris leading in the polls in 2024 lol. Not sure if you guys knew but we all know there's immediate pain with these tariffs but in the long run, we should come out on top. I get you guys are emotional and don't like Trump but the reality is that USA doesn't need Mexico or Canada but they need the USA. Mexico and Canada's exports are 70-80% to the USA while we only export 13-14% to them. This means most of their economy relies on the USA and only a small of ours rely on theirs.

Those tariffs against Canada, Mexico along with the rest of the world has all the hallmarks on what Trump really wants to happen in his project 2025 game plan. American population start to feel the consequences and rise up with protests on the streets, this will then give Trump a false flag to put the military on the streets so he can then crown himself dictator of Russia Mk 2. ?

USA needs Canada way more than Canada needs USA. good luck with your tariff doing anything other than destroy USA. Most things USA makes can be bought way cheaper elsewhere.

Trump announced retaliatory tariffs against Canada on Truth Social. I suspect we’ll her what they are tonight
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Donald has already responded that if you use retaliatory tariffs, he'll use even bigger tariffs against Canada. The guy's a nutter.

I think Trudeau missed the memo on what reciprocal tariffs mean! By the way we don't need Canadas energy when they Say they're going to so-called turn off the energy to America that means literally nothing five minutes of research will tell you that the United States does not need Canadas energy! Absolute empty threat!\n\nBy the way to anybody in the comments section that doesn't know what they're talking about and just listens to cnn so far these tariffs have secured 1.7 trillion US dollars in just three months brought manufacturing back to the United States honda is now leaving their location in Canada and building in the United States same with American car manufacturers in Mexico. \n\nWe won and I find this so funny you guys are flipping out we have socalled Americans joining Canada's side just because they're anti Trump. absolute clowns!

wow this guy is really angry that they wont be able to tax my money anymore. and wait, if tariffs are so bad for the citizen then isnt it bad that canada has had tariffs on the usa for 4 decades?

Respects to Canada. The Tariffs will kill everbody in US and the trade war is beginning. Russia and China laughs about the AMERICANS have fun in future wirh your criminal Clown Name Donald Trump.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Reality is tariffs will create inflation and inflation eats the debt away, so as the world currency , trump is playing his cards well....canada's GDP is weak we must become a more productive country an cut bureaucracy...
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Tariffs on China and Mexico but not on Canada. China, Mexico and Russia are the main enemies of the United States not Canada.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
As an American, I'm disgusted with these tariffs. Trump is definitely doing the WRONG thing here. We should be working with Canada and Mexico, not against them. It seems like Trump wants to be Putin's little Bitch.

I do hope that Canada, EU and Britain will work together, there is no reason Britain and EU cannot replace America as the main trade partners and I have seen plenty of other videos about other asian countries indicating interest in Canada's trade.\n\nBut this is much more than just tariffs, Trump has really gone off the deepend siding with Russia and undermining Ukraine, even undermining the sanctions, I wouldn't be surprised if he is already trading with Russia, using whatever bizarre pretext he chooses.\n\nThese should already be red flags to Canada, there is a long standing relationship with the UK and Ukraine, but Canada is only reacting on the tariffs, which detracts from what other action they might have taken.\n\nThe imposition of these tariffs should be the straw that breaks the camels back, I hope that if America repeals these tariffs that Canada will still diversify so that they don't ever end up in this situation again.

Dear Donald. I think you shot yourself in the foot. You were too hasty. Apologize to Canada and scrap the silly tariffs. Canada has responded to your border concerns.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
The tariffs on Canada and Mexico are not about what they are doing now. The tariffs are about what OUR FRIENDS????? allowed to happen for the last 4 years. They silently witness how illegals invaded our country and how they allowed the Mexican cartels to take over the borders. Many of our young people died to drugs and illegal criminals. Many of our law enforcement died and were kicked by illegals. OUR FRIENDS?????? watched without action and NOW!!!!! they want to play the victim card. Typical from countries that always blame USA for their failures. Cuba and Venezuela are great examples of what happened to countries that separate from the USA.

Trudeau resigned as prime minister because he was deeply unpopular in Canada. He proceeded to suspend parliament while President Trump threatened these Tariffs and then immediately left to Europe to posture with European leaders. He did absolutely nothing to strengthen the US/Canadian relationship while his party set about appointing (not electing) a new leader. Trudeau is an actor and a hypocrit. Do not believe anything he says. Now I don't agree with President Trump's tariffs on American allies like Canada. I don't understand the metrics he's using to justify them. Maybe there is a real reason, but this fool that you're listening to has not represented Canada faithfully and I reject everything he says.

With or without tariffs, American goods will never have a place here in Canada anymore. You have shown your true face and will never have a place in a Canadian household
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
I don't think lifting the tariffs would make things as they were again. All these threats to make Canada the 51st state have done damage that cannot be erased with any economic policy
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
This idiot already quit, no one is listening to anything Trudeau has to say. Tariffs on the Americans only costs Canadians more, tariffs on Canadians make Canadians pay more. So you see, Liberals have to go, then tariffs go away. CANADA CAN NOT SURVIVE WITHOUT AMERICAN MARKETS LET THAT SINK IN. Cancelled pipeline, not paying up in NATO, not stopping drug flow, not fair in trade to the USA 200 billion in difference, you see the Liberals are in panic mode and its all their fault starting with his word salad speechs that mean nothing.

It's really baffling when the US imposes tariffs on Canada and lifts sanctions or russian oligarchs..

I thought Trump said tariffs would be reciprocal, is he charging Canada more than they get charged by Canada?

Trump says tariffs on Canada will increase if Canada imposes retaliatory tariffs.\n\n“Governor Trudeau” ?
|

Here, no more buy from USA, cancelled Netflix, cancelled amazon, cancelled orange, cancelled trip, cancelled most of Google I use MapQuest instead. And I do not want to do anything with USA as long as Trump and Gop are in charge. I hope Canada will take off any tariffs from China because no use to buy things made in China via USA. I will buy directly from now on

Meanwhile he’s going to up the carbon tax the Canadian people are paying April 1st. Nobody is going to see these tariffs besides the Canadian government treasury. Even thought he’s trying to defend us he’s a donkey and most of Canada can’t stand him
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
A lot of Americans are against these idiotic tariffs. Why are we going after Canada, literally our best allies along with Mexico and UK. WTF!! Trump is a freakin idiot POS. Trump is the epitome of human garbage.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
My only criticism is that Trudeau should have said the tariffs imposed by Trump, rather than the US. Not all Americans support Trump and maybe they’ll need Canada’s help to throw out the garbage one day soon.
|

I hope Trump puts more tariffs on them Canada
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
We know. You have to stand up to that traitor! We love Canada but it's only right that you fight back! You are our sisters and brothers and we want the Canadian people to flourish. We love you! ??♥️????\n\nTrump invented that excuse about the fentanyl in regards to Canada! That's not why he imposed the tariffs!\n\nP.S. He's not smart, just greedy and wiley.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Can I be Canadian? :). In all seriousness, I wonder if these tariffs will last long. Perhaps Trump will cancel them in the near future and claim, incorrectly of course, that Canada and Mexico (maybe China) made some sort of concessions and that his tariffs worked... What a turnip of a leader, and that's being unkind to turnips...

Why does he continue to provoke the US president? He resigned and rather step down with dignity, he chooses cause as much damage before he leaves. Justin Trudeau bears full responsibility for the burdens Canadians now face. He imposed and continually increased the carbon tax, draining the pockets of hardworking citizens while offering little in return. He neglected Canada’s NATO commitments, failing to uphold our obligations on the world stage. His tenure has been marred by repeated ethical scandals, each one a testament to his disregard for integrity in leadership. \n\nNow, as the weight of his missteps comes full circle, he faces the consequences of his own policies. The economic strain he placed on his own people is now mirrored in the tariffs and pressures from the United States—a reckoning of his own making. And even in his resignation, rather than stepping aside with dignity, he continues to provoke President Trump with baseless rhetoric, further endangering Canada’s relationship with its greatest ally. \n\nTrudeau’s legacy will not be one of progress, but of division, economic hardship, and lost opportunities. And now, he reaps what he has sown.

All Governor Trudeau talking about a non-existent trade War these are just tariffs and in any way shape and form a war? Canada's military is so underfunded by Governor Trudeau Canada would almost certainly lose any conflict at ever thought with America or any tier one adversary, my suggestion Mr Trudeau you need to exit stage left and make room for somebody who has the courage to deal with the Tangerine bird

US doesn’t hit Canada with 25% tariffs. US hit US-importers with 25% tariffs that they will put on their American prices
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Canada already has massive tariffs on US goods.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Canada is always causing problems for us Americans Canada is a serious national security threat to this country instead of 25 percent tariffs Trump should place 900 percent tariffs against Canada instead.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
By putting large tariffs on Canada, Mexico and China the US government has put up the taxes of the US people by the highest amount since 1993.\nThese tariffs will be paid for by the US people with higher prices and inflation.\nThe US central bank may put interest rates up if it worries about higher inflation.\nWhenever I look at Trump I think of the song Liar Liar Pants on Fire by Chuck Brodsky.\nThe words of the song describe Trump perfectly.

Please explain to Governor Trudeau, of Canada, that when he puts on a Retaliatory Tariff on the U.S., our Reciprocal Tariff will immediately increase by a like amount!

If tariffs hurt the consumer,by passing the extra cost to the consumers,,,why Canada is doing the same to Canadian consumers????
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Even before now less than 1% of fentanyl came across the Canadian border. Canada has had a trade imbalance with us in our favor. Canada last year had already agreed to beef up border security by $1.3 billion. Canadian troops have fought alongside US troops in several wars. As recently as a few weeks ago Canadian firefighters were helping put out fires in the US. Dumbest tariffs doesn't begin to describe it.

We in the EU should stand by Canada and offer whatever support is necessary, including financial grants if needed. We should also match Canada by imposing our own 25% tariffs on the same goods and services, acting as a force multiplier. If the ‘Mango Mussolini’ refuses to listen to reason, he must feel the consequences of these actions. Hang in there, Canada! You are an incredible tough people and while your country is mentally prepared for this trade war, the US have not given it a single thought… they will be surprised and the madman will fold

OH, NOW THE GOVERNOR OF CANADA HAS A LOT TO SAY. HOW ABOUT STARTING OFF WITH? I KNOW WE 0 300 MILLION DOLLARS EVERY YEAR TO AMERICA. I support Canada from America. Please do everthing to hurt Trump and Elon Musk. I support 100% tariffs on Elon and his companies. Please world make them pay.

I support Trump and much of what he is doing, but I do agree Canada has done well enough to the point these tariffs should not have gone through. I was fully expecting this not to go through or at the very least be much smaller.

We Canadians are suckers if we're giving billions more to Ukraine. Trudeau needs to go now. As for the tariff, I think we need to strike back hard, and continue the boycott of US goods. If we could, would be great do cut off all energy going to the States, but thanks to Trudeau, we don't have cross country pipelines to do that. BTW, Canada is not responsible for what comes into your country, we're responsible to keep things out we don't want in. That's the way these things are supposed to work, we're not East Berlin.

The reality is: the US has reached a record high trade deficit with Canada. This deficit has grown steadily since 1976 (today it is just shy of $100 billion - meaning the US purchases $100 billion more worth of goods from Canada than Canada does from the US). The US imposing tariffs on Canada is a tactic to incentivize US companies who import goods from Canada to move manufacturing/production sourcing back to American soil. This promotes investment and expansion into the US economy. It will also incentivize Canada to commit to investing in the US economy. This would be a negotiation move by Trudeau: we (Canada) will commit to purchasing $25 billion (for example) dollars more of goods from the US if you agree to reduce the tariffs you've imposed on us to blank (maybe 5%). This is likely the end goal Trump is aiming for in the long run.
