We can’t save the world ?… there is a process for migration ?…just as ancestors fought wars for democracy —the migrants ought to have gathered their millions and stood for their rights in their country. Their corrupt governments thrive because the “millions” that left did not fight and stay in their lands ?. It seems easier to escape. Unfair to the people that have waited months and years to come here, also those that could be waiting to legally arrive have contributions to the USA… a lot have not practiced “planned parenthood”~~culturally have large families and continue to make babies when they can’t even feed the ones they have ?. We have enough uneducated, homeless and impoverished populations through out America. It is time to take care of our disaster victims, veterans, seniors, mentally ill, and homeless ?…Our towns are flooded with helpless humans and stray animals .,

Illegals are not welcome, and one of the basic requirements of a country is to protect it borders. My wife and my son-in-law are immigrants..... legal. They have earned educations and professions, the contribute to the tax base and society, and they appreciate what they have earned. Immigration is a cenetrpiece of this country, when done right. If Canada wants the illegals, I'm sure the US will be happy to deliver them. But I believe most Canadians don't, and we are only hearing a few airheaded corner cases, similar to what is being deleted from our national consciousness right now.

This woman is right. We need people who are willing to sacrifice their time and their old citizenship to become Americans. She sacrificed a great deal to become a true American citizen. I do not want to be a citizen of another country although I have spent time as a guest worker LEGALLYin other countries. I was not allowed to take jobs in those countries (Japan and Germany) that native workers had the right to take. I was not given benefits or a right to vote. I had a passport which I was required to carry at all times because as a foreign worker I could be stopped and questioned about my legal status. My passport showed my working status in country with the appropriate stamp. I accepted these restrictions as part of my working conditions. I wanted to keep my own citizenship as an American although I could have worked to obtain the fluency level required and the citizenship understanding of law and legal procedures to become a citizen. It would have taken time and waiting for an application to clear. That is what it would have required but I wanted to be an American. I did not renounce my citizenship lightly…nor should anyone without work and thoughtful consideration of what it is to BE a member of that country.

As a law enforcement officer it’s so many immigrants we don’t know what to do. Plus some commit crimes and we have no information on them. Plus the drugs trade has increase. This is idiotic, Undocumented Immigrants paid $96 million in taxes in 2022. 50% of our agriculture workers are undocumented immigrants. Who is going to replace that workforce? Something needs to be done but this is not it. They have no plan to collect and hold the immigrants. Local Police and Sheriff departments are not equipped to nor allowed to (in some states)go chase illegals. Similar bills have been attempted before as an effort to have Police arrest illegals but it was messy and got put on hold for several reasons. No discussion of potential civil rights violations or the question of it being unconstitutional also opens the door for racial profiling. Any person of color would targeted. Most of the immigrants are not from Mexico why would any country accept them? This is the dumbest plan for immigration ever and it won't work.

Immigration is a privilege, not a right. Legal immigrants have earned that privilege. Genuine refugees deserve a fair chance at getting that privilege too. Illegal immigrants switching between countries pretending to be refugees don't qualify. These are the same people who went to the US illegally in the first place, then hope to come to Canada illegally when it's bad in the US, and then will return to the US illegally when things will get better there.

Remain in Mexico applies to arriving aliens applying for asylum, not asylum seekers who have already been admitted. The latter contravenes federal immigration law, and that's something that a President can't do via executive order. As well, if we deport asylum seekers to a different country, or make asylum seekers wait in another country as their asylum cases are adjudicated, the US government is STILL responsible for providing essential resources and ensuring their safety (this includes providing migrant centers) and the US cannot impede on their right to counsel - and by virtue of making them stay in another country that doesn't HAVE US immigration attorneys, this DOES impede their access to legal council, which is an immediate infringement on civil rights and a key reason why Remain in Mexico was challenged up to the Supreme Court and was kept from fully going into effect.
