These students are from very wealthy families who often have housemaids and servants to do domestic chores and who can afford to pay ridiculous student tuition for a second-rate Canadian post-secondary education. There are top Indian schools where it costs maybe 1/8th the cost and the education is very, very good (e.g. Indian Institutes of Technology) and certainly better than what they are getting in these second-rate diploma mills in Ontario. Moreover, there are very good tech jobs in India in cities like Bangalore. What these students are really after is Canadian citizenship, through a pathway that does not require strong qualifications. They were promised that by Indian immigration consultants. With Canadian citizenship, it is much easier to travel and live in the US, where many of them want to go (and some are even now entering illegally). \nA second reason is that these younger adults want to live independently from their parents. Many of them arriving in Canada are living on their own or with other students, for the first time in their lives, and are enjoying a lot more freedom from Indian social norms such as not being able to date people of a different religion or sexual orientation, or to marry the person of their choice instead of having parents involved. Three or four generations ago, when a lot of immigrants came after WWII, those from India were coming to large research universities or engineering firms and had a job or full fee waiver or university fellowship waiting for them. They were much more qualified and went on to be doctors, professors, business people and other professionals. This is what largely composed the Indian diaspora in Canada, until this wave of students brought along by the current government which admitted over 200K Indian students -- per year.

You can hate on people as much as you want. The only Canadians that live in Brampton are the homeless ones. the rest of Brampton is full of foreigners. Studying in Canada is a trap. The standards of universities and colleges do not meet the job market requirements. The PGWP (Post-Graduation Work Permit) and PNP (Provincial Nominee Program) systems are traps for international students, giving them false hope that they can get PR (Permanent Residency) if they do certain things. These programs just bring in money for colleges and universities. Students borrow loans to study at these institutions. 1) The Indian government should ban student loans for studying in Canada. The Australian system is much clearer and more transparent, and it does not fluctuate like the stock market. 2) Canadians should come forward and tell the Indian media or directly inform people in India that Indians are not welcome, because many in India are unaware of this, and by the time they realize, it’s too late. 3) An easy way to get Canadian PR is to declare Themself a Khalistani supporter. .......Protest of Khalistan is okay but not okay for Visa extension

What Canada NEEDS is AFFORDABLE Housing for the working poor, OW, ODSP and get the homeless who want housing.\n\nAll Pubic Colleges and Universities should be AUTOMATICALLY adding a housing cost for International Students. This way these foreigners aren't creating housing problems for the local community. So Colleges and Universities should be buying property within REASONABLE DISTANCE from their Campuses that are only for CURRENT STUDENTS actually taking classes. \n\nThe Government needs to be RESPONSIBLE for LOW INCOME housing. More people are finding themselves unable to take care of themselves. Which leads to severe drug abuse and homelessness.\n\nNew Development should be required to be the most effective version and sustainable version of Green. 15% of the apartments should be for low income, OW, ODSP and Elderly. This will help the Government properly plan out Public Housing across each Province and Territories.\n\nThe next question is why are all these East Indians who aren't becoming TRUSTWORTHY doctors, nurses, business owners competing to live in Parkdale, Toronto versus the East Indian Hubs in Ontario.

i grew up in Brampton 20 years ago, a child of Caribbean parents. Whenever I go back I can say Yes, Brampton has changed over the years. I also remember that white/Canadian people were always the population struggling with substance abuse- particularly in the downtown area. Conflating the influx of indians with the downturn of white canadians seems to just fuel animosity and scape goat the issue onto a population of people that's probably just trying to seek a better life. why not ask the government to provide better social programs for those in need rather than fueling hate ? Why not investigate the structural issues that have contributed to this situation i.e. politicians gaining votes by doing xyz, or look into what people may be facing in the homelands? That would be a better piece of journalism imo. I think this video is highlighting this issue in ways history has seen before... can't we do better?

So entitled these Indian students. It's not even a thing Canadian government should be accommodating. Of course police from both countries should be involved to catch the scammers, other than that, Canada has no obligation under any circumstances to take in these students as immigrants by giving out any other permits.

As a hindi speaking Indian I.T. professional, I don't understand why Punjabis, Gujaratis, and Tamil Indians are always dying to move to Canada? I lived in Canada and didn't find Canada all that great. I'd say America is a far better country than Canada. As shown on the graph, it's the same in Surrey and Richmond BC. So many businesses don't even bother putting English on the signs. I was the only non-Indian commuting on the bus to/from work. I have good Indian friends who value Canadian culture (unlike the government) but there are others who don't, and won't hire non-Indians or rent to non-Indian tenants.

Most of these international students belong to the sikh community from northern india (punjab). Not all indians are like this, mostly sikhs because they are large scale fraudsters. India even asked the Canadian government to extradite these criminals back because most of them (khalistanis) are wanted in India for criminal charges...Canadian gov let them in and gave them safe passage. Why you are spreading hate for students. When you should criticize the Canadian government and colleges. Why the government accepted so many visas at first place. Without student visa Indian students cannot come to Canada. But the government only cared about the money. They took the taxes and fees from students and now all hate is going towards students. South Asian Indians are fourth generation Canadians and are educated, successful and have assimilated with the European culture. The french lady should see Montreal, it is cool to see Indians, Chinese speaking French. Do you ask why there are too many Chinese in Chinatown? Canadian government is to blame. They actively recruit Indian students with false promises. Fake schools recruiting fake students. I don’t what the heck is wrong with Canada but they have lost their minds.

The situation is not the fault of the students or the Indian students. It's solely the fault of the Canadian government because no Indian student can come to Canada without a student visa. They are accepting so many students only for financial gain. This is a result of corruption. But unfortunately, all the hate will go towards Indian students even when it's the government's fault. Many students have been misled by Canadian colleges, they have invested a significant amount of money and contributed to the Canadian economy, only to find themselves unable to secure employment. As a result, they are left with no choice but to return to India and confront their families and communities. This is a major factor contributing to the high number of students returning to India in unfortunate circumstances even suicide.

Im an Indian from the state of Kerala. In my class from college nearly 20 of them came to study in Canada. Believe me these people who come are not that academically good the fun fact is that the academically brighter ones never went abroad all of them got a decent job in India itself.. This guy is spreading hatred against immigrants, especially Indians, in the society. What's wrong if someone do a peaceful protest for their demands? The government will consider or reject their demands, depending on the situation. Who are you to judge them? Recently, the IRCC approved the extension of PGWP of 6700 people living in Manitoba. So let the government / the law of this country do it's duty. This guy takes one incident that happened somewhere and generalizes it to all immigrants/ Indians living here. There are 2.5 million temporary residents and over 9 million PR holders living peacefully this country. They should not be questioned for what some random guy did. So STOP spreading hatred in society.

I'm an international student form Nicaragua, and I'm doing my best to contribute to this country since day 1. And I'm looking to stay in this country not to take advantage of anything, but to contribute and give way more than I have received here. It's just not fair that we are being affected by Indians, the government should apply measures according to each situation from each country of origin. Indians are the abusers of the system, not us that we are the real minority here trying to earn our place here but just our pure honest effort.

As an Indian , i also oppose mass immigration but its really Canadian Government and its special interest groups who created this situation in the first place. Also the students who are protesting have a valid point. If the courses they enrolled for were eligible for PR when they applied , its not fair to remove it when they are passing out. Sure you can implement it for all future intakes but not for those already enrolled.

This video reeks of Racism, laws (if they want to be fair) can never retrospective in nature/application. All the students who are already in Canada should have the option to be eligible for a PR, they (the Indian students) went there for a better life, they have their entire existence dependent on the fact of becoming a Canadian citizen eventually. Deporting them would be a loss for India as well as Canada, as many of them will end up with depression and feeling of failure. \n\nThe Canadian government must allow these student who are already in the country to apply for citizenship and make citizenship and PR rules stricter going forward. Believe me canada is the easiest country to move from India and the cheapest one too. I'm glad i rejected to move to canada everytime they pitch me those ideas. So please do not hate indians. The Liberal government will likely find some form of permit extension for about a year or 2, because to initiate any form of deportation will look bad politically. They will leave the problem for the Conservative government to deal with knowing it will be difficult to depart hundreds of thousands of international Indian students/temporary foreign works (and other people groups), and manipulate the situation to gain political capital.

Indian government must take step to control immigration from india to west European country,america india itself cointain big big University and colleges so why are they going to other country according to me for residents visa and citizenship they are studying in canada and European and American country born in india now they gone to other country super? if india become rich country they will return to india itself that is going to happen in future.

This is not about indian students only. If you people think that we come up from poor families to study abroad then you are truly wrong up in here. We belongs to well renowned family and we do have enough money to buy out things. I am an international student as well and i can totally understand the situation of my community student and it is not just for Indians but for other international students from some other countries are also suffering because of unfair PNP draws. The thing is that only Indian came in-front to raise their voice and media is targeting Indians to leave. This is not fair at all. At least government should provide justice to them, as every international student on work permit are doing hard work to serve the community. Please, do not spread manipulative messages against Indians. Thanks
