High taxes, high energy prices, low wages, too much government, crony capitalism, real estate being treated as a speculative investment, too much immigration and nowhere to house them, regulations that deter entrepreneurship, poor health care, refusal to invest in our resource industry, refusal to invest in core infrastructure, declining civil liberties. Lot of these problems have been festering for a while, but things have really gone off a cliff since Trudeau was first elected. Even if you get some wise and saintly philosopher king to replace his corrupt arse, these problems will take years, probably decades to fix. I'm in my late 30s, and basically if I want to get out of this rut, I think I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and figure out a way to move to the States. I'm getting real tired of grinding my butt working and having nothing to show for it.

I have a lot of family and Alberta, as well as some in Vancouver and Toronto. Growing up, I always idealized Canada and wanted to move there so bad, despite the fact that I had 1st hand experience with Canadians who often told me the negatives.I tried to move to Vancouver twice, decided It didn't make economical sense for me. Once covid happened, it really made me thankful that I never made a permanent move to Canada. I also have to remember that most of the time I've spent in Canada was during the summer, and I have to remind myself the weather is only that nice for a short amount of time, most of the year you're buried under snow (or rain if you're in Vancouver).

Government workers get paid way to much in Canada and have to much power.. teachers and fire fighter make 100K with amazing pensions and it’s way harder to do in the private sector.. I remember in high school everyone wanted to be a teacher because it’s how you get rich… also there are thousands of government workers getting way overpaid… are only saving grace is foreigners coming in and starting business… really feels like USA will own is shortly

As an immigrant to Canada who's built a successful business here, I do feel the urge to defend Canada when I see these sorts of videos.\n\nThings are hard right now - inflation is really crippling and I don't know how the housing prices are still holding up despite rising interest rates. I also agree the red tape is absolutely bonkers.\n\nThe country needs to develop more of a pro-business mentality. Everywhere I look, people are complaining about not having a good job but no one wants to put up their hand to start a business to create those jobs.\n\nBut, man, is it beautiful living in the Rocky Mountains. It's a peaceful, open-minded nation and the day I finally get my citizenship will be a very proud day for me.

Canada is well represented around the world. But you don't really know someone until you live with them. This country basically shuts down for at least 4 months a year during the winter. Sure people still do stuff but any Canadian can agree that winter, compared to the other seasons is night and day. \n\nIt sells itself well in real estate especially with foreign investors but deep down nobody really wants to live here Jan-April. \n\nPersonally I moved to the states cause I'm in a field that presented better opportunities, better pay, better quality of life year round, cheaper life in general without huge taxes.\n\nThat's the trade off, either work more and not deal with winters or deal with winter and get some support for not working as much.

I think it depends on what you really want from a country. If you exclude costs of living, Canada today looks like a nice place for retirement where people just want to live life quietly and do simple happy things in life. This makes it not as focus on development in my opinion. The cost of everything is going up because if I was a rich person, I would go to Canada too to live life. Not as stressful and the nature there is just amazing. BC weather is really nice.

This cartoon fantasy that every single person has the exact same amount of skills to offer and has the same value and rights is destroying places all over the United States and has been and will continue to hurt Canada. You want people to have equal rights until you literally can’t ride your bike to work because of the amount of people on drugs and homeless on the street/sidewalk is to large to even cross by. The drug problem in the United States and in Canada is off the chain out of control and these people that support rainbows and Drake are going to continue to have poor quality of life in their home they have been living and working in. Which is what is really unfair IMO…

If BW could see just how Americanized we are we wouldn't keep traveling to these countries and ending up getting murdered there. Maybe Spaniards and Mexicans think that BW are flaunting American wealth so they want a piece of that success. Nothing really wrong with that but there's a process to get in the US. I KNOW Black ppl make being an American look REALLY good but America has its problems. But comparably, many countries are doing very poorly. I HOPE that they work on making their countries safer to address the reasons why they want to leave in the first place.

Been to Canada once. I really liked it while I was there but that was 9 years ago. Seeing the government going communist I would not want to live there. Same here in the area that used to be called the USA without borders. Communism. But I do live in Texas born, raised really not a bad place but the World aliens racing across our border makes me so mad.

That's the problem with these ppl. They all come in swarms (by the thousands even millions) each & every year for the pass umteen decades and sit under the U.S government once they get naturalized comfortable situated or whatever you want to call it they don't go back to their countries to try & fix whatever problem that's making them all run to the U.S which only then creates a whole nother generation of latinos running to the U.S pleading for sanctuary and salvation...& it just keeps going on & on & on. Some of your points are great - some are regional - housing issues are definitely a problem in some cities - Toronto and Vancouver are ridiculous- Calgary at the moment has tight inventory- landlord issues really depend on where you live. Taxes are due April 30th not the 1st. It can be difficult to get hired in your trained profession as an immigrant for the reasons you’ve shared. Our company consists of about 80 percent new immigrants, but we need people with Canadian work experience on their resume. It is costly training - and firing is something we DON’T want to do. So we need good references to hopefully avoid that issue. You were very fortunate to get a Dr so quickly. Again the specialist referral issue truly is more about your Dr than the system. A lousy Dr won’t refer patients because they don’t have the contacts. It’s more complicated than you’ve shared. I have had no problems with referrals because I’ve had good Drs. New Drs will have a harder time and unfortunately those are the ones taking new patients- hopefully those issues change as they get established.

Really ironic to read some of the comments here. Maduro rules Venezuela by decree of his party's legislature. He refused to accept the results of the elections in which his opponent won in 2018 and deployed the military to kill dissenters. This is EXACTLY what Republicans wanted to have done in the US: have Trump rule by SCOTUS decree and deploy the military to counter Democrat and Independent protestors.

I just got admission in one of Canadian college, my tuition fees and living expenses are estimated to be $25,000CAD but I only have $18,00CAD to pursue the visa approval. Please do I have little hope of getting the approval if my documents are good?.

As a legal immigrant and now a US citizen, this really pisses me off!!! Why did I have to wait and pay to do it the legal way if all I had to do this act like a child and demand things.
