Nothing lasts forever and I think you guys have overstayed your stay. And remember native born people have a right to express themselves freely and have opinions about their own country..

Hardest part is this was all a highly predictable outcome…I remember clearly those warning what the trajectory we were on would lead to all of what is going on now…these warnings were back in the 90s early 2000s and all those people were dismissed for various reasons and called old world thinkers and intolerant and so on…It makes me wonder if democracies can exist or continue…the average person isn’t socially savvy enough or educated on civics and will fall for leaders promising free stuff and you-topia visions.

I grew up in Montreal and left to go to graduate school in California. I have since moved to Las Vegas (California was a dissaster runned by Democrats who screwed up everything) and everything fell into place and I am extremely happy. I make a good living here and I can usually make a same day or next day appointment to see a doctor when I need one. I remember how bad government runned healthcare in Canada was and that it used to take months to make an appointment to see a doctor. The medical system in the USA is top notch as long as you live in a Republican dominated state. I guess that's the difference between Canada's government runned healthcare and the USA's private healthcare. Anytime the government operates a system it is a dissaster. If you're looking to move somewhere I would recommend Las Vegas.

I have been shocked to learn how Canadians have given up r surrended their freedoms to the politicians. Legalizing hard drugs and the permissive application of the law is disturbing. I've always had a high regard for Canada, but giving up the right to protect yourself or your family is too much, too draconian. And the Universal Health Care is great, if you are healthy, but if you are sick or hurt- not so much. Wishing you luck finding a better culture. ( I have been equally shocked at Australia. Remember seeing three policemen arresting a young woman, quietly reading a book in a park, in the sun? That was totally shocking to me. People so easily give up their personal freedoms to the Government).

It's good that you're speaking about this, but I vividly remember YouTubers like you and others overselling the Canadian dream. Unfortunately, many new Indian and Pakistani immigrants (especially students)lacking basic civic sense were misled by so-called influencers’ videos and arrived in the country, exploiting the system.

As a 42 year old Canadian (born & raised).. lived in Northeastern Ontario my entire life. Canada is unrecognizable. I miss the country I grew up in. Heck, I'd even take a version of the country I can vividly remember from a mere 20 years ago. With how inflation, homelessness, immigration and leftist/globalist policies have destroyed Canada, my partner and I are doing our research in hopes of finding a better country to live in. Even the US (despite its downsides) is a much better country to live in (financially)..

In Canada they have little toy schoolhouses you can burn down on some holiday (can't remember which) and you can form dykes in your backyard and pour in water in the winter to make your own ice skating rink. I saw a movie once where this guy wouldn’t come out of the building he was in. I think you were surprized how much you enjoyed to exploration of Russia a few years ago but quality of life was very good then but even better now, but retaining the unmatched access to culture, very low cost of living much lower crime rate than Canada/US/Europe, and cost of living about 1/10th of Canada, great health and easy to get a residency and citizenship due to being from Ukraine originally. For your travels, it is a little more complicated due to US sanctions but from here in St Petersburg it is really easy to travel by bus to Estonia and fly anywhere in the world. Estonia is the cheapest cost of living in the Baltic. I have flown to California several times using that route and to London the flight is $50 euros. \nAlthough you explored a lot here there is so much more to see and experience.\nThere is no doubt the western countries that relied on cheap labor and resources from colonies are all in a downward spiral and the east is rising. All the BRICS countries have positive growth in quality life and economic growth and a total of 108 countries have either applied or expressed serious interest in joining the largest trade block in history while the US empire fades at an accellerating rate. I was born in Montreal in the mid 50s and growing up it truly was a free country with plenty of opportunity. Graduating from Sir George Williams University I was able to purchase a brand new Mustang and live in my own new construction 2 bedroom luxury apt. Food and going to clubs was never an issue and as I had worked during the summers, I had no student debt. Most Canadians back then were from European backgrounds and safety was never an issue. In the year 2000 I left for the United States for good. I worked , lived and retired in a small university town and have a conceal carry permit to protect myself even here. I remember when you didn't even need a passport to go back and forth to Canada . The great replacement has hit Europe the hardest but Canada is a close second. If I were to leave here it would probably be for Thailand or the Philippines where there is a reasonable cost of living and safer conditions. I feel for you as I too can never go home, not the home I came from.

Visiting foreign countries is one thing, but living in a foreign country is a different thing, especially if you're not born and raised there. Every country have the good parts and their issues. Good luck with your decision, and always remember your roots. Having travel to many parts of this world and experiences I'll never forget, never give up your Canadian citizenship. After trying to make up my mind to move to a foreign country, I discovered my home is where my roots are. This is where I returned to and this is where I'll stay now with no thoughts of ever leaving again.

Although I agree Canada is in trouble, don't be fooled to think other countries are doing better. Always remember running from a problem and thinking the grass is greener elsewhere is a good way to end up exhausted and disheartened.

For me i don't think Canada is really bad at all i know everything is becoming expensive but not everything yes the house is expensive but for me right now i am already retired I'm 66 years old my house i already paid off i live in milton just outside of Toronto the only problem is my two sons but both of my son have a good job my oldest son he worked as computer software developer and my youngest son he worked as computer data in downtown Toronto now my plan i want to go back to my birth country Cambodia for my retirement from November to March April I come back to Canada to see my childrens and grandchildrens this is just plan but remember Canada still the best country to live compare to some other countries good luck to you Alina . Canada is so spread out that it is difficult to get anywhere without having a car . The airlines are all fleeing service to the small cities. That is a big problem for people who want to travel internationally. I remember when I lived in Quesnel BC in the 1970’s , there was a PWA Boeing 737 - 200 with daily service to Vancouver. Now there is no longer any flights to Vancouver from Quesnel . Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal are the only options for international travellers.

So sad to see, can remember Canada was the place most wants to emigrate to, democracy has failed spectacularly and there is nothing the normal folks can do about it, the ones with capitol now controls the political parties and MEDIA. The citizens only get pre selected candidates to vote for and they don't have your interest at heart.

Beautiful scenery with mountains in the background, and that unique wooden chapel. I thought you could start a general store there, with teas and coffee bar of your own!
