Canada, Mexico be ready when big bad USA resort to military retaliatory action ?

Does anyone not understand the trade unbalance? How much does the US buy from Canada and Mexico vs how much does the US buy from them? Who do you think this will hurt in the long run? It's quite interesting.

Trump wants them to quit buying Chinese EVs. Well, anything Chinese, but I think he wants to start with EVs. I look for this to be the next chapter with Canada and Mexico. Capitalism at its finest moment.

It's time for Canada to drop out of NATO and NORAD (what is the point of a defensive strategic alliance with the only country in the world that is openly threatening you with annexation?) and expel all American military and government personnel in the country. it worked the first time he instituted these tariffs in 2016, I suspect it will work again, because Canada and Mexico have no real leverage. they can say they will fight back with their own tariffs but its a losing game for them because, they are a luxury for us. we dont need them. they need us far more than we need them. and thats why despite grumbling they caved in last time. they will do the same, you just have to let them get it out of their system like a toddler and try and save face for a bit.

As for Mexico, they export to the US nearly 2x what they import from us, so they are still on the losing side. Just co-operate, simple. American trade accounts for only 24% of its massive GDP. if you removed all trade from america, it would still have larger economical output than china, mexico and canada COMBINED. yes. Combined. \n\nFurthermore, Canadian trade with america account for almost 80% of all trade in canada. A 25% increase would be absolutely devastating to canada. In america its about 13% so a 25% increase would cost more but it wont have any significant impact.\n\nNo doubt this tarrif war will cause far more problems for canada mexico and china than america. By a LOT. \n\nI dont think america is being selfish either. China does nothing to protect america from sending precursor chemicals to america to manufacture fentanyl.
