According to google Canada's experts to Usa were 590billion dollars in 2023 and president trump put a %25 tariff for all of it excluding energy.\nNow Canada responded with 30 billion tariff with same rate things such as florida orange juice, tennessee whiskey ... and planning to put another 120billion worth of goods of Usa don't lift the tariffs in 21 days. In any way from these numbers, it looks like Usa is going to rip off canada a lot.\n\nReal response should have been %25 tariff to all usa goods without exception until they lift their tariffs!

Trump has already admitted: Tariffs do raise the US Cost of Living and that they are paid by US Consumers (including MAGA Consumers) NOT by the foreign country. He originally imposes a 25% Trump Tariff on Canada but only 10% on its oil and gad exports to the US. WHY?! Because he knows Tariffs will increase the Cost of oil imported to the US and therefore gas prices, and increase the Cost of Living to MAGA Consumers and decrease his political support. Trump is a grifter, so anything he proclaims is likely 10% truth and 90% Lies. Watch what he does and not what he says!

Trump's rationale of the border security issue to Canada is totally false as less than 1 percent of drugs and illegals come through Canada. Trump is just being a bully to try to get his way on tariffs for what he thinks is an economic decision to improve the USA. Unfortunately he is again wrong as Americans and Canadians will pay a lot more for goods and Trump will cause more inflation, ruin companies and many job losses across both nations.

Probably not a good move for Canada to play games with Trump, their economy is in excess supply and the US is the largest consumer market, they will fare much worse. Ditto for Mexico, their economy being 1/25 the size of ours. Fixing the border is a win-win.

The racism goes both ways. I grew up feeling disrespected and mistreated by them (not all of them but a LOT of them). What will Canada do, you ask? For starters, it can clear the truckload of foreign workers taking sub-par wages at job sites for my son's 3rd-year electrician apprenticeship - a job he hasn't found any work in for about 4 months now in the GTA. Yes, these workers and the companies that employ them have been illegally using the system meant for workers that cannot be found locally to hire for lower wages than Canadians. Some of them are fully qualified electricians willing to work for $22/hour - just $4.80 above minimum wage - you cannot survive on that in the GTA. So, not only do these workers steal jobs, they drive down wages. The companies need to be fined for misuse of this code.

It' the MAGA mentality. In Canada over the last 2 1/2 years Pierre Poilievre has been blaming Trudeau for everything. Just like Trump blamed Biden/Harris for everything. But especially for immigration. Poilievre and Trump have blamed immigration for job loss, housing shortage, healthcare inefficiency, crime, urban decay. Poilievre and Trump don't try to differentiate between refugees/asylum seekers and legitimate immigrants. Canada's birth rate has been falling every year since the 1960s. Canada needs immigrants. Both the Conservative and Liberal governments supported immigration in the past. Poilievre is using immigrants to rile up the racists and the ignorant, for his own political gain.
