I'm a proud Canadian who would NEVER move to the USA for a ton of reasons. I only wish our best neighbors---I still believe this---would get their act together. Unfortunately I think it may be way too late. The fact that a known scumbag like Donald Trump could still,I think,get back into the White House says it all. The warring political parties should be lining up to put him jail. Far too many shootings and violence down there. When I meet Americans up here,they are always nice folks,always respectful. Maybe they're relieved I'm not armed. I'm kidding. Still,all things considered,very proud and very lucky and very happy to be a Canadian.

Bit late here but I honestly think most developed world countries would have similar responses. Sure we have our own problems but America dials everything way beyond 11....

They are naive if they think Canada is better than Australia. It is on its way to become like Aus.??

America has mad shootings daily, they are famously the dumbest country on the planet. Democracy is important, but the USA is falling away from this. Two political parties is dangerous too. Need way more options. The facts that a majority of Americans voted in a celebrity billionaire racist loser makes me think they are even dumber than they are famous for. Climate incompetent. The number one problem I have with the states is the education system or lack of it. The public education system is awful. I’d rather live in about 50 other countries first. USA sucks ! Most Canadians think you are a country of morons. Which celebrity racist will you vote in next?

The Uk is cold enough for me I think I will never visit Canada and people in the UK are friendlier. I liked your video because you portrayed Canada in the way it is.

Oh, hell no! And further to that, if I was visiting the US and got sick enough that I might need a hospital, I would do my damnedest to get back to Canada. I have heard Americans say that the healthcare is very good, as long as you have money. But I don’t trust it because Americans have been brainwashed to believe that the US is exceptional in every way (sorry guys, but it’s extremely obvious to the rest of the world), yet I have heard too many stories about things like people picking up C. Diff or other drug-resistant infections in hospitals there.\n\nI spent about two weeks in the hospital in February. You know what it cost me? Absolutely nothing. Well, I did have to pay for taking an ambulance later. But the hospital stay itself cost me nothing. Neither did the food they fed me in there, or the medication they gave me.\n\nMayyyybe if you guys got universal health care (it shouldn’t be tied to your job), and stopped shooting each other so much. You definitely have some better weather. Oh, and if you all toned down the religion a bit. Annnd stopped trying to play world police while simultaneously bombing other countries into oblivion to steal their resources. That’s been going on for far too long, and I don’t think the average American citizen even realizes it.

OH HECK! No way, I would not move to the USA. I would move to many European Countries way before moving to the USA. First of all, our health care is a fact we do not need to worry. Second we do not have all your freaking problems with people that think Trump is a GOD given to them. We do not have religions anywhere near politics here. I agree depending where you are living the climat does influence us, but that is because 95% of our population live about 1 hour away to the USA. Yet I do not remember the last time I was visiting friends in the USA. But visiting friends in European Countries a few months ago, and going back again to visit them, yup going to France, UK, Germany, Austria and Russia. We do not get while eating in a restaurant: Oh! gosh again those americain that think everyone speak English and hamburger with fries is the top of the chain food.

You say if you've in a small place your children are safe in school. Really?? Do you think the people living in Uvalde (population 15,000) feel safe after 19 children and 2 staff were slaughtered? You do not believe mass shootings are that bad or maybe as an American you are just used to it...Wake up!...300 mass shootings so far this year. You say that most people are 'ok' with health care as Americans are insured through their work Really? There was a time I would have. My father and Grandfather grew up in New York city as children and spoke highly of the States. Since 2016 I would seriously not consider living there. The gun violence that occurs their has gotten to the point that it has to be especially eggregious before it makes the news. The cavalier attitude towards guns and gun saftey is disturbing even from your politicians. it would be a recipe for loosing your privalege to own a firearm in Canada if you did what many of us see americans do with their guns. Open carry. Not allowed. Concealed carry. Not allowed. There are courses you need to take and pass on firearm saftey and gun use here, before you are given the privaledge of owning a firearm. Those firearms need to be stored properly or carried in cases at all times when not in use \n\nThat being said I have done those courses and I own guns. Rifles to be precise and a shot gun I use for hunting food. Pistols are not easy to get here and you can only use them on a range. The only people legally carrying pistols in public are the police.\n\nHealthcare is fine if you are young and healthy, with a job. If i showed up at 53 with a handfull of pre-existing conditions, I would be in bad shape.\n\nYour record on lgbtq+ and a woman's right to bodily autonomy is back slipping to the 1950's. Some politcians (not sure what level, state or federal) are looking to even reverse the position on interracial marriages for pete sake.\n\nI think if Voter appathy is allowed to continue, the vocal minority of people who want this will get their way despite the fact that the polls suggest the majority of americans hate what is happening

My family has been trying to get me to move to the US for the last 40 years. Sorry but no way! I prefer to live the life of freedom that americans like to think they have but really have no clue what freedom really is. Being able to shoot a gun and wear the flag as underwear is definitely not it!!!!

Each countries have their pros and cons. Yes guns and religions are a big turn off but in Canada we're not as free as in USA. \nHere, in Canada, i can't defend myself or my home, i have to way for the police to show up (and it take enough time for the cops to find a corps) if i do and do arm or kill the offenderl, i end up in jail which leaves Canadians with 2 choices. Either get killed or get in Jail. \nIn the last years i saw Canada going to a close to be socialists system and slowly going into a communist system which scare the shit out of me. I won't allow the governement to tell me where to work, where to live, when to bath or what to think. \nThen there's theses biggots who wonder why their church is not open 24/7 and believe earth is flat who claim everything that's not related to them is evil. Theses are the most stupid and dangerous people in the world because they're armed and fanatics. Sometimes you can almost think they'll start a new crusade 400 years after the grand inquisition. In Canada we kicked out theses priest and their BS out of our homes and pollitics for 60years now and that's one of the main reason why Canada is better. \nThen there's that millitary expense problem. We don't spend 2/3 of our incomes into a war machine then say there's no money. A couple of hundred bucks a month for health care? I'm paying maybe a little over $400 US a year through my income tax return. Many years ago I had lunch with a Blue Cross rep trying to sell our firm a group insurance plan. She admitted that even basic limited coverage in California cost way more than what we as an employer were paying for our government health insurance. My point is, sure, your company provided health insurance may seem to be free to you, but imagine the hit your employer takes on the bottom line for it. And think of how much more your take home pay could be without those exhorbitant premiums.

Why would anyone want to move into a country that is full of (Christian Right Wing Taliban Fundamentalists) backed by the (Federalist party). All those White Supremacy nut-jobs looking for any reason at all, to murder gay or democratic thinking people . . . No way America is not a good place until all the Nazis have been terminated some how. Tyler you are oblivious to what happens in the US which is obvious by your reaction I think you should explore more about your own country. It seems to me Canadians know more about US history past and present, your politics, religious zealots, bigotry, racism, the list goes on. By the way the number one cause of death for children in the US is guns you might want to explore that. Going around living in your personal bubble isn't helping you realize the issues in the US and around the world. The best way for change to happen is to vote in people who will work towards it at the local, state and federal level. Idk I think there’s a bit of a bias here, I feel many of these responses are way over dramatized and are heavily shaped by popular media, rather than necessarily representing reality. Honestly population is the only concern I have with the US appose to Canada, otherwise rural America I feel lines up pretty well with rural Canada, and really that’s all I care about, all urban centres suck ass in my opinion. We’re Getty pretty soft in Canada lately, and it’s kinda’ worrisome, so it’s sometimes reassuring to see Americans dig their heels in a bit. (Not at all saying everything is peachy by any means however)

Reddit is a platform that leans heavily left, and it's no mystery that Canada also leans left compared to the US, so I'm not sure this is a good way of collecting samples.\n\nI think one thing that matters is that each state in the US has more autonomy over the US Federal government than the provinces in Canada has over its federal government. So the US has stuff to offer over Canada if you want to live somewhere with a society that differs from the general federal mindset.

No way would I want to live down there. Dat place is crazy, dirty, and dangerous. Half the country hates everyone else, or so it seems. Given that your crazies have such easy access to guns, I think it is one of the last north western countries I would live in. \nAlso, the fact that the number one cause of personal bankruptcies in The US, is medical expenses. It is a country where a couple of stitches can cost you a thousand bucks and where insurance companies decide what treatments are available to you.\nI think it would be a terrible place to live, especially with a family.

Never lived in the US but have visited a lot. I do have family in Washington state and I really enjoy visiting that part of the country. I didn't like New York and California only because of the sheer amount of people. Way too many people for my liking. Walking down the streets I felt like I was being shoulder checked with every step. In some smaller areas, absolutely loved the people and communities. Very friendly, and I find Americans to be very patriotic which I absolutely love! Health care and gun violence would be enough to keep me away though. Now in 2023, I find America becoming political polarized. Just watching the news is enough to raise my blood pressure (which I don't even have). If I got a chance to leave the snow behind, I think I would choose overseas on a island somewhere. Also at the age where I want peace and quiet. Raised kids already so more on the downlow and quite beach life. Thanks for your videos Tyler you are definitely one of my favorite Americans. Tyler, with complete respect you DON'T get why we generally have no interest in moving to the US. You constantly talk about 'you just have to find the right place to live'. True of anywhere, but here the choice would be about preferences and afordability, NOT to avoid gun violence or shunning because of political views.\nThere is no where in Canada I could move to where gun violence would be a big factor to consider (we have rough places, and gun violence, but STRICT gun laws). Let me give you some perspective. In 2019 the USA had 37,038 gun related deaths. (No other causes of death- JUST all gun death). In Canada, in 2019, our death by illegal means (which does include suicide, as it is illegal) was 5,874. (That is for ALL types of homicide, not just guns). And the government was shocked by the increase that year and tightened gun restrictions further.\nYou talk about having certain States more Red or Blue. We aren't bi- partisan, so our politics are a melting pot. You might have people you disagree with everywhere you go, but you will also always find an equal group who thinks similar (unless your an extremist). And even the people who think different will generally agree to dis- agree. There is next to nowhere in Canada where your political views would get you run out of town. \n\nYou are USED to thinking like an American. (Fair, your American; I think like a Canadian) Trust me, as a Canadian, there are aspects of the accepted American culture (your country's way of life) that is boarderline terrifying to people here.

Your feelings toward school shootings changed quickly, which is good. Unfortunately, many people feel removed and distant from this violence. That’s why it doesn’t change or improve. Well, as a Canadian, I guess i'll pitch in.\nWould I move to the US? The short answer is no. But I will explain more in detail.\n\nFirst, I do not see any advantages to the US compared to Canada. Americams often tout their country as the beacon of freedom and the land of opportunities, but I don't feel that Canada is so different there. We're actually higher on the world freedom index, and its not like our economy was in shambles and everyone dirt poor... We pay more taxes, fine, but we also get more services in return, and that last part has the advantage to remove a big layer of worry. Like, for healthcare, I don't have to worry if i'm covered by insurance or not, or if the insurance carrier will drop me on some technicality. I'm a citizen. All the basic needs are covered; no questions asked (and the healthcare quality is not half bad. We just prioritize urgent cases over non-urgent; so if you go to the hospital for something non-urgent, you will wait, and more urgent cases will pass before you. Annoying when it happens, but I understand and agree with that in the end)\n\nSecond, I do see a lot of disadvantages. All the points raised in the video are valid, from the private-sector healthcare system, the gun control laws (or lack thereof), the social policies and legislation in some states; they don't agree with me.\n\nI think it comes down to some specific social and cultural ideas that are prevalent or at least present in a substantial manner in the american society. Bear in mind that I am generalizing here, not every american believes these points, but many do. I'm talking about ego, nationalism/patriotism, secularism etc.\nI feel that the US often has a really overinflated vision of itself. Like, the idea that America is the best. At everything. Wich is factually not true, but this idea also poisons the debate on many issues, and tends to limit social introspection that could lead to real advances.\n\nI've also noticed that the american basic school system is strongly patriotic. Everyone in the US is taught a lot about the US themselves in school, but not much about the rest of the world. Not great for open mindedness and introspection when you have little comparison points.\n\nAndlets not delve into the religious aspect. I've seen a poll somewhere where 48% of americans were AGAINST the separation of church and state. For me thats not only insane, its dangerous. It fits the individualistic mentality where people can more easily start thinking that their way is THE way. It creates a very polarized society much more prone to high volatility.\n\nSo, yeah, no, I wouldn't live in the US. I'd much rather stay in Canada where i don't have to worry if I get sick or hurt, if some agressive drunk idiot in a bar is armed, or if some fundamentalists from some religious congregation is gonna be able to try to politically force their point of view.

America is a beautiful country to look at, and I'm sure there are lots of beautiful people, but the arrogance of some of them is mind blowing. I recently watched the news footage of 911, I cried all the way through that, first out of compassion and next out of frustration. When people were jumping out of those towers, George Dubya was making a statement that terrorism would not stand in America. What did he think was standing in his face. The terrorists won that day. Then when they got Bin Laden He stands up and says we got him . Big deal you got one person , when there are dozens to take his place. No mention of other countries that helped them. , they have taken full credit for every war that ever happened. They wonder why the rest of the world hates that country. The sad thing is that 911 didn't teach them a thing. They brag about how they lost 3000 people and other countries only lost a few to terrorism. How sad that they think that way. You had a great president in Obama, but you have that 2 term rule and have been going downhill ever since. And our Canada's Prime minister is certainly nothing to be proud of. Politically he's no threat to anybody, but his own country. Mostly he is an immoral threat to his own country. But that's another vent for another day. I still pray every day for the world and that includes America, but I can't imagine what it will take to break them of that arrogance.

Seriously? McDonalds and Starbucks? We don't have McDonalds and Starbucks? News to me bro! We have amusement parks too and FYI, healthcare is totally free, we don't have to pay for it, not ever, not any procedure, period. Gun violence, need I say more. The attitude that America is the greatest country in the world, where do they get off? America is the only free country? I think not. I do not want to walk down the street in fear of my life, why in GOD's name would I want to live in a country that is the equivalent of a school bully.

I don't think I would move to the U.S. for many reasons. Healthcare is great in Canada. I don't think I'd be able to afford insurance in the U.S. , I also would be afraid of guns, the coastlines will rise by the 2030s, so my dreams of California and New York are out as well, never mind the outrageous cost of living there and being an arts person, I wouldn't want to be there now with the strike. I don't think I'd be affected as a stand-up comedian, but the opportunities would be way less with the industry shut down.

Over the years I've been to the US many times, most recently in 2014. I can tell you with 100% certainty that with the way things are now, I have no plans whatsoever to return. There are so many systemic issues, including gun ownership/violence being a self-fulfilling prophecy (everyone has guns, so I need a gun to protect myself, which means more guns in society, which means more people thinking they need guns to protect themselves, which means more guns), and that they've somehow allowed half the population's human rights to be violated (and fail to see that it's just the beginning of a slide down a very slippery slope). They tout that they have so much freedom, claim they have more freedom than anyone else in the world, but their freedoms are being taken away left and right from their federal government, all the way down to individuals who think that their personal rights and freedoms are paramount, even to the point of impinging on others' personal rights and freedoms. Add to that the obvious health care issues, the food quality, the environmental issues etc... No thanks.

One should not need to be so “selective” about where to live within one’s own country. If the overall compassion is there; if people have a more socialistic concern for others rather than such individualistic way of thinking (like there have been no school shootings in MY town), then you would not need to be as selective

I have visited the US several times when I was growing up. Been to many States. Out of all the states I've been to, my favourite was Tennessee. But would I move there? Heck no. There is way to much violence for me. Plus the health care in Canada won't bankrupt you. I also don't like the fact that the US's economy is based mostly around wars. As soon as their dollar starts to tank, they are involved in another war. I think that is why most other Nations prefer Canadians over Americans.

I personally would in a second. \nI have lived in both countries and hands down it's better living down there. \nExperience living in multiple cities in multiple states.. and living in basically every major city and a lot of small towns in Canada.. I know 100% Canada is not as good as the states. \nAs a Canadian I can say Canada is not what people think it is... they think it's so much better here when they sy that because it's safer.. not better..not remotely.. we are so restricted here to do anything.. own land. .. grate now build something on it. Have fun. Years and thousands just to get a house approved.. the restrictions American people don't have make it that much better. \nFirearms.......... \nI've lived in so called bad areas in the states and honestly I've had way more nonsense happening in good areas in Canada. \nThe states have there downsides but overall way way better. \nMy next plan in Utah or Arizona..

No...I love this place way too much,I know everyone thinks there Country is the best, I'm no exception. Iv been to a few others and I really believe Canada is hard to beat ! But..i would like to visit couple months a year..like January and February down in a secluded place in the Florida keys with a bottle of Crown Royal in one hand and bottle Jack Daniels in the other and big ass Rum fish bowl in my lap...lol....fuckin eh boy..!!!

Right now, you'd have a better chance being Mexican and willing to work in a restaurant or factory. \nAs far as moving to the USA, no way. NEVER! Not even if you pay me. We'd thought about it. On balance, I think we're settled in Canada and late in life so that re-starting would not be practical but ... we'd thought and talked about it. The potential freedoms we feel like we're losing, here, now. (It's always complex ;-) )\n\nCanada's health care system/financing/administration is having problems too. We aren't subject, the same way, to individual medical bankruptcy but the system is VERY broken.\n\nWe've had shootings on the streets lately ... innocent bystanders being hit. \n\nCanada's a great (and imperfect) place. \n\nIt's not better or worse (IMO). It's different.

Please ?, keep sharing these types of information. Am living here in Kansas City, United States. I have been trying for my brother to visit and even try school and they have been denied visa. But now am in the process of filing for my mom to come as a permanent resident. Am even thinking about helping one of my brothers to go to school in Canada with a student visa after watching your video. Am very pleased to come across your videos. None of you should be allowed in the United States you think you just barged your way over here across the border and you can stay know we have consequences for that action

As a legal immigrant it’s kind of sad for me to see that people think they can just walk into the states. Our family had to jump through hoops to get in. I understand the situation in Venezuela because I live in Mexico now, but the fact of the matter is, many of them can stay in other countries and do just fine. I know many venenzuelans in Mexico who are making a living. Mexico is very generous with humanitarian visas, even for Haitians. They are prioritized more than any other groups. But they don’t want to stay in Latin America…. The US is some kind of fantasy for them. Why don’t they rush their capital this way?

This is something our ancestors would probably start firing shots for, if you want in America than you should do it the right way, become a citizen.
