Trans has no place in the military! Period!\n Nothing against anyone Trans. Be whoever you want to be. When it creates an environment where military members may be uncomfortable or have to share a living space hater or bathroom with someone of the opposite sex is WRONG!

The troops are more than soldiers they are emissaries representing American interests on military bases around the world. In the extreme, it would be like sending transgender troops to Uganda or Kenya. Americans would be unwelcome before even setting a boot in their country.

The LARGER problem is that recruitments are at the lowest they’ve ever been, and there’s been talk of bringing back the draft, requiring people to serve —- and our naval admiral, an old man wearing a dress and dating a bald, red lipstick who stole clothes at the White House, because that was their position, and it’s affecting recruitment. I would suggest suggest accept everyone, don’t ask don’t tell. This pilot you interviewed clearly great and wonderful, but let’s look at the larger picture. What makes public discourse are these rare exceptions, and public perception among young volunteer recruits is that you have to be trans to be in the military. In order to be in the military you have to pass psych evaluations. A person isn’t mentally fit for enlistment let alone an officer if a man thinks he is a woman or vice versa.

This is not the same as biological males playing in female sports... \n\nif a person wishes to serve in the military, it is a great sacrifice and honor - anyone, regardless of gender or sense of identity - as long as they qualify (able bodied, of age etc.) they should be able to serve and the country should be grateful for their service.

If you know what your sex is then why do we have these people in the military. This is BS that people think that bringing this into the military is not good for our country. Your average soldier is not going to respect a leader or want to follow a leader who used to be a man and is now a woman and Vice, versa! I agree with Trump and Crenshaw even though I don't Crenshaw. There is no room in the military for this BS. I served 10 years and this BS is nothing more than a huge distraction. You have people who were going in just to get the operations. They spend 4 years in the military changing gender on tax payers dime. Out of the whole 4 years they may be deployable for about 6 months and that ain't all at the same time. When I was in this stuff was not an issue! They were not allowed to join and neither were gays.\n\n Think about it everyone is so bent out of shape over sexual assault well if you take a couple of gay guys and put them in an infantry unit they are going to look at all those men the same way a straight guy would look at all the girls if he was dropped off in an all girls collage. If i was still in the military I'm sorry but no matter how hard i tried i would not be able to take a biological male posing as a female serious. Thank god the unit i was in would never have had that issue, it couldn't happen. And forget about a biological female posing as a male, 98.9% of them couldn't make it, not without lowering standards, sorry it's just a fact, reality does not care about feelings

I’m 60, I remember when the whole debate started about Gays serving in the military, my thoughts were and still are, if they want to risk their lives defending me they can have at it.

Promotions not based on merit but identify. The military is a mess and hopefully Trump will get it back under control.

People fit into militaries. Militaries do not conform to individuals.

Standards change with time. As culture (and possibly the next DSM) reconsiders a small population of (likely pharmaceutically-dependent) transitioners as mentally ill, I expect military risk analysis will follow suit.

Just because the guy interviewed here was a good pilot does not mean that all the guys who transition are going to be good soldiers and members of the military. \n\nIf you choose to “transition“ that’s your choice and you should be respected for it, but that does not mean you continue to qualify to participate in certain things like athletics and the military.

This is a matter of our military not doing their part in conducting proper mental health sceenings. How can someone with a psychological disorder be allowed to serve? When I was at MEPS, I was denied my request to be an MP because of a low credit score, and yet we have individuals in service that are not mentally fit. I do not wish any of them ill will. But just like most can agree, they wouldn't want a racist cop. We would not want someone who could snap while they are being depended on in a critical situation. This is evident as the left likes to point out the high suicide rate with transgender and homosexual individuals

Transgender military personnel represent 0.1% of total military. Why focus on such a small minority?

They don't let you in if you have sleep apnea, high bp etc. but we're supposed to ignore the whole physical changes/surgery etc. that makes them not combat ready?
